Although most of my articles and books are focused on project-based work, I made notes along life´s pathways to capture experiences that sparked my interest. Over the decades I jotted down a few events and reflections. While in corona virus quarantine in Rio de Janeiro in 2020, I gathered random jottings and other scraps already drafted into the computer, to meld together these vignettes, mostly for my own amusement. But I imagined that some of the messages might hit home for family or other potential readers. So Since I´m moving into my 80s, I figured I´d better get on with the program! Here it is, a collection of vignettes, reflecting feelings, sensations and perceptions -- snippets collected at random stopovers in life. They include philosophical tidbits and touch on themes of awareness and mindfulness. You´ll see some of me and maybe some of yourself as you read along. I hope it makes you reflect, smile, maybe laugh, and perhaps motivates you to make your own notes as you journey along. Paul Campbell Dinsmore

It’s with great pride and honor that we publish “Mindful Moments”, while accomplishing one of Paul Dinsmore’s wishes.
Writing this book was one of Paul´s dream. It took less than six months for him to write it. Paul passed away just before the final edition, right after he chose the cover’s drawing: Lake Murray.
We would all like that he could be present at the book release, but unfortunately this was not possible. Yet as Paul wrote me once: “Things don’t have to make sense of course. They just are what they are. Don’t try to put the puzzle together. We may not have the pieces yet. Or maybe the pieces don’t even exist at all”. I do believe we are all always searching for this kind of wisdom.
Incredible moments happened while the book was being written. I learned how to make a banana pudding specially because of the last part of the book called “Notes”. And Paul ate it while savouring some of his childhood memories.
In this respect, other memories came around, such as moments spent with his Grandpa Wayne Dinsmore, which made us search his Grandpa’s name on the Internet. And what a surprise! We found the link below with many curiosities about him!

Definitely, Paul´s life touched many other lives...
And hopefully this book will help fulfill a little bit of the surviving lack of his physical presence.
As Paul would say: “A successful day is like a dixieland jam session; there is a basic structure to it, yet there is lots of spontaneous improvisation”.
We all would like keeping in ours memories his wise and sweet words that, all the time, have been brougth care and incondittional love. Always! We are all grateful.
My very special thanks to Nathalia Ouro and Rodrigo Cairo, of Caminhos Editora, who have made possible this dream of Paul.
With eternal love,Renilda Ouro, Rio de Janeiro, 21st September, 2021.
More About Lake Murray, the book cover: whoever has been there, will never forget it!
As sports editor of the high school newspaper Jacket Journal in 1959 in Fort Worth Texas, I imagined myself becoming a writer. But somehow things like college, an engineering and business career, and family doings corralled my days and I never got on with writing.
At 40, my dormant crave to write kicked in when I was invited to headline a monthly column for the Project Management Institute (PMI), which I did for 10 years. This spurred me to publish books on the topic, so my writing surged full speed for the next decades when I authored or co-authored 20 books on sundry management themes like Human Factors in Project Management and Enterprise Project Management.
Although most of my articles and books are focused on project-based work, I made notes along life’s pathways to capture experiences that sparked my interest. To my amazing kids and grandkids who carry on. To my dear extended family eternally connected by bloodlines. To my girl fiends and wives over the years who gave me loving care and support. To my colleagues at DC DinsmoreCompass and the Project Management Institute who gave me professional reference. To the fascinating people I cite in these vignettes. And to the thousands of others not mentioned who have given me pause to reflect and be aware of the preciousness of each of life´s moments.
