In the pursuit of our dreams, each of us has encountered unique experiences - some good, some bad. These experiences often leave us with scars, spanning physical, mental, and emotional realms. For some, these scars become nightmarish reminders they wish to avoid.
"My Scar My Glory" offers a fresh perspective on the relationship between scars and glory. It delves into the two distant poles of vision and medal, exploring the narratives in between.
The book provides clarity, enlarging our capacity to make sense of life's most challenging moments as we strive to achieve our desired medals. It encourages us to unveil the power of healed wounds beneath those scars, as therein lies our glory.

INTRODUCTION
It all began with a powerful irresistible thought, burrowing its way through the hollows of the mind of a young man with suggestive ideas that might seem impossible when placed on a scale of naturalism, oh! Greatness as they say “is not for the normal”, This thought kept on hitting the frontal lobe of his brain. “I want to become a business partner of the greatest inventor”, It kept on echoing, it didn’t make sense nor sound realistic, but it came anyway…the possibility of this thought was to be determined by its bearer which was soon to be translated into a vision…guess who this young man was? Edwin C. Barns.
Barns had a burning desire to become the business associate of one of the greatest inventor that ever lived, Thomas Edison. This was a very unrealistic thought, desire or vision you would say as Barns was not in any position to express such desires, reasons being that one; he had never met the inventor, two; he had no means to go see the inventor at Orange, such difficulties have denied many from pursuing their visions, Barns was determined to realize his desire to become a business partner of the great inventor. Barns believed that his greatness was connected to Edison and would stop at nothing to see this desire fulfilled, what Edison might have felt about joining forces with Barns was immaterial at this point, what mattered the most was what he, Barns felt. As such, he put in efforts to the actualization of his dream by hopping on the train in the Blind Baggage section to New Jersey, towards his destiny. Reaching his dream destination it appeared or seemed everything was set for him as he arranged for a meeting with Thomas Edison, wow! You may exclaim, but little did he know that he was in for a shocker as that meeting ended quite sadly, a test of will and determination, indeed every vision will be tested for authenticity. Thomas Edison could not have accepted a business partner he new nothing about, someone who had never made an invention, someone who didn’t have the financial prowess to make a measurable financial commitment and lots of other reasons best known to the Inventor and so his request was declined, he (Edison) however, was gracious enough to start him up as a sweeper. This again was sufficiently enough to send Barns back home, as it has, many on the path to their destinies, but guess what? Barns believed in the validity of his dreams and embraced the opportunity with Joy and thankfulness of heart, for him, it was exciting to be in the location of his dream and desire, while he served as a sweeper, he did it with the whole of his heart and was preparing while at it, there were days Barns would have felt a little down, discouraged and wondering when things would change for the better, this is normal with every dream: Days of discouragement, delays, Doubt and distraction…his confidence didn’t fizzle out when it became clear that things didn’t go his way, he kept his confidence in check. He had to adjust his mindset, not to change the goal but to employ the place of patience as he waits for time and opportunity to actualize this vision he had, he persisted and kept on moving, I imagine him singing as he sweeps, what do we do when our vision goes through the delay phase? His opportunity finally came and he pounced on it like a cat would on a rat, indeed his growing hunger for greatness had trained him to spot with every sense of accuracy, opportunities when they come, and so this one was too big an obvious spot to miss, How did it happen? Edison had concluded the invention of a machine latter known as the Edi-phone, sadly his marketing team didn’t think that this particular invention will sell, indeed what you think is impossible; is a reality in someone else’s mind, Here was Barn’s opportunity to prove himself and he did; by working up to Thomas to offer his services, this he did by expressing confidence in his ability to not just market the Edi- phone but to have it in the house of every American, this was accompanied with a laid down comprehensive marketing plan, it was a demonstration too good to be declined as such was given the opportunity, an agreement was written and signed and this marketing strategy indeed became a roaring success within a very short period of time with so much success that Thomas decided to establish his firm EDWIN C BARNS and brothers, Barns became a millionaire at a relatively young age which proves the power of a sustained desire regardless of who the individual is, a strong desire is not a respecter of persons, if clearly defined and sustained can work for anyone.
Indeed, It is almost impossible to live through life without getting injured. Sometimes the wound heals up and there is no sign that it ever happened but there are some wounds that are so deep, that though it heals, the pain might go away, the scars remain. these scars cuts across physical, social and invincible scars, scars from divorce, scars from mistakes we made, scars from the death of a loved one, scars from a shameful deed, scars from our consistent struggle to get to the top.etc.
My Scar My Glory encompasses the Journey of Humanity from the ordinary to the extraordinary. but stresses the narratives that goes between these two poles. that as we go through the path of life and destiny we encounter diverse obstacles against what we stand for and our pursuit and in some cases; this experiences leaves us with terrible scars, and what we do or how we handle this scars will to a great extent determine where and how the Journey ends for us. The exposition in this book is done through the eye of The writers personal experiences, experiences of others and life stories from the bible. The book is a clarion call to as many with scars, visions and dreams to realize that you will never arrive at the other side of freedom, fulfillment and achievement without going through life’s challenges which could sometime leave indelible mark.
If we can take this seeming weaknesses and convert them into strength then we can experience an outburst of testimonies which culminate into Medals. The central idea is to get us to “Remove the Mask and be Real and release the power of healed wounds”. (your scars are beautiful to God by Sharon Jaynes)
