He says about his life when he did his M.PHIL Maths and M.PHIL Futures studies in M.K.Universiry.He says about his experiences in his employments with the Life Insurance Corporation of India. He says about his career as a temporary lecturer in Mathematics in 11 Colleges, GRI, and as an Assistant professor in Mathematics under Tamilnadu government collegiate education service. He gives his friendship with some girls but none of them married him. He is the author of the book 'HUMAN LOVE AND RELATIONSHIP''.He is the author of'ON THE WAY IN MY LIFE' a short.

WhenIstudiedmysecond-yearM.SCMathematics,Iwas sadthatIfailedtheTopologypaperinmysecond-semesteruniversityexamination.MostofthestudentswhoevenfailedinallsubjectsinthefirstsemesterpassedtheTopologypaperbutIfailed.Infact,Ididnotdothatexaminationwell.Thatwasverysadtome.Inthesecondyearstarting,wegaveawelcomepartytoourjuniorM.SCclassfirst-yearstudents.OnedaymyclassmatesgavethewelcomepartytoourjuniorsinourclassroomintheSchoolofMathematics,M.K.University.OurprofessorwhowastheheadandcoordinatorfortheSchoolofMathematics,K.R.Nagarajantalkedandwelcomedthestudents.Afewofourprofessorsalsotalkedtothepartybutallofourteachingstafflefttheclassroomassoonastheygavesomeadvice.Eachofthefirst-yearM.SCmathematicsstudentswasaskedtosaytheirname,parents'name,theirnativeplace,andfromwhichcollegetheygottheirB.SCMathematics.Someofthem wereaskedtosingsongsortodosomejokes.SomeoftheClassmatesaskedsomecriticalbutplayfulquestionstoMs.RathinaselviwhohadcomefromLady  Doak College,Madurai.Oneofmyclassmates'boysaskedRathinaselvi, tosaythecollegenamefromwhichshegotherB.SC.ThensherepliedLDC.ThensomeofmyboyclassmatesaskedhertogiveanexplanationtoLDC.Butshedidnotsay. Inthistime.I askedhertogotoherseat.thenshewenttoherseatintheclassroom.Therewassomeexpansion toLDCasalove-developingcenter.IntheTamilnaducollegesloveisnotfreelytalkedaboutopenlyamongthes.tudentsintheclasses.Ialsoaskedmyclassmatesnottoaskcriticalquestionstoourjuniorstudents.ThenwheneverIseeRathinaselviintheSchoolofMathematicsinthemorningIsaid'goodmorning'.Shealsosaid'goodmorning'tome.Withinafewdays,webecamefriendsattheuniversity.AssoonasshecametotheclassroomshesearchedformeinthenextclassroominourSchoolofMathematics.Evenwhentheprofessorwasteachingtoourclassshewouldbewanderingaroundtheverandabeforemyclassroomtoseeme.IfI  didnotseeherthenintheeveningshequarreledwithmewhyIdidnotseeherinthemorning.ShewasstayingintheuniversitygirlstudentshostelinMaduraiKamaraj University.Thereweresomesixormoregirlswhostudiedwithherasherclassmates.Theboysweremorethanteninourjuniorclass.MyroommateinourhostelwasmyM.SC  junior.HebelongstoVathalagundu intheDindiguldistrict.Inowforgothisname.

 Iwasinlovewith Rathinaselviforaboutonemonth.Butwithinonemonthwedidnothaveanyphysicalrelationship.I andRathinaselvimetsomefiveorsixtimesinpersonalseparatelyduringtheeveningtimeandduringthenightuptoeighto'clock.Exceptinthebeginningthreetimes,wedidnotgetcloseintheotherthreeorfourtimeswhenI  metherintheeveningaftersixo'clocknearourT.P.MeenakshisnaranarlibraryinourM.K.University.OnetimewhenweweresittingbehindtheT.P.Mlibraryduringthenightaftersixo'clockbutbeforeeighto'clock,shewantedtocatchmyright-handfingerstoseethem.ButI didnotallowhertocatchmyhandssayingthatuntilweweresuretomarryourselvesweshouldnotphysicallyplay.Butshewasnothappy.TheotherdayItoldthistomyroommatewhowasalsoherclassmate.Sothenextdaymyroommateaskedherwhydidshewanttocatchmeinthenight.SoshewasnothappyaboutmeasI toldherpersonalmeetingtoothers.Thenext daysheaskedmewhyshouldItellher meetingstootherstudents?IaskedherifshewassuretomarrymethenI  shouldallowhertoplaywithme.Butshetoldmethatshewouldmarryonlythemanwhomherparentsaskedtomarryher.ThenIaskedherthenwhyshouldshestaywithmeinthenightalone?Isaidtoher,'IfyoudonotliketomarrymeafterIgetemployment,thenwedonotmeetagain.'Thuswegotaquarrel.Withinonemonthwewerelikeanyother.WhenI wasintheT.P.Mlibrary,shewasevenplayingwithsomeothermalestudentsfromotherdepartmentswithoutanycareforme.SoIwassadaboutthis.AsI wasfromavillageandIstudiedmyPUCandB.SCinmancolleges,I  wasinarelationshipfirstwithRathinaselvionlyinmylifeatthattimeoutofourfamily.Shewasabout165cminheightwithagoodlookandnormalbuild-upbody,yellowcolor,goodheadhairs.ButIwasnotwelllearnedaboutgirlsandtheirproblemsatthattime.I  gotsomeknowledgeaboutgirlsonlynowaftersixtyyearsofmyage.SupposeI  hadbettereducationlikesexeducationandrelationshipeducationbetweengirlsandboysIshouldnothavequarreledwithher.AfterI separatedmyfriendshipwithherI didnothaveanyrelationship withanyothergirlformanyyears.However, Ms.JayalakshiwhowasaclassmateofRathinaselviwaskindtome.JayalakhmiwasaBrahmincastegirlandshelivedinMadurai.

WhenIstudiedmysecondyearM.SCIwithsomeotherofmyM.SCmathsclassmates,wenttoKodaikanal,Tamilnadu,asaclasstour..Mr.Subbiah,Mr.Pondy,Ms.Poovalaki,Ms.Vasanthi,Ms.Vasantha,andsomeotherswentonthetourtoKodaikanalbybus.Westayedinaprivatelodge.We wentbyboattoalake.WesawmanyplaceswithinadayandwereturnedthenextdaytoMadurai.Iwaswithonlyaboutonehundredrupees.Pondyhelpedmeonthattour.Mr.PondywasagoodfriendtomeduringmyM.SCbutlaterafterhegotmarriedin1989hediscontinuedhisfriendship.Butforthelastyear,Ihavecommunicatedwithhimbyphone.PondyhasretiredasAssistantProfesorofmathsfromC.P.ACollege.Boody,Tamilnadu.Poovalakiretiredasprincipal,fromEMGYadavawomen'scollege,Madurai.S.SubbiahwasworkingintheUSAbutIdidnothaveanycommunicationwithhimsincetheyear1984.WhenI  wasintheBharathihostelduring1981-1983,I  hadafriendMr.NarasimmanwhowasstudyingM.Apeacemaking.Hewasalsostayinginthehostel.ButIalsodidnothaveanycommunicationwithhimfrom1984.Mr.SureshwhodidhispoliticalscienceatM.KUniversityalsostayedinthehostelwhenIwasthere.HelatermarriedmyclassmateJagathaandtheystayedatChennaiwhereheworkedasAssistantProfessorpoliticalscience, aPresidencycollege.Imethimsometimesduring2003to 2009andsomedayin  2015.Iwrotethetopologypaperwithmyfourth-semesterpapersinApril 1983andpassedM.SCinfirstclass.inApril1983.

 WhenIstudied M.SCMathematicsattheSchoolofMathematicsatMaduraiKamarajUniversity,alltheteachingstaffatScoolofMathematicswereBrahminsexcepttwowhowereChristians.Prof.K.R.NagarajanandProf.Soundararamanwereprofessors.prof.Narayanan,Prof.RaghavendraRao,Prof.Karunakaran,Prof.Baskaran,prof.Ramakrishnan,Prof.Janakiraman,Prof.VincentJayakumar,Prof.Chaiudam,prof.M.A.SundaramandawomanprofessorwhowasaChristianwereworkingthere.Prof.KarunakaranusuallycamewithVest andablack-coloredumbrella.HecamebybusfromacolonynearS.VellachamyNadarcollege,MaduraitoThe MaduraiKamarajUniversityBusstop.Thenfromthatbusstoptotheschoolofmathematics,hecamebywalking.Ifitwasrainingorhotheusedhisumbrella.Healsohadhisheadhairs notcutbuttiedonhisheadlikeourancientpeople.Onemoremathematicsprofessorcamefromuniversitystaffquartersbyanoldbicycle.Healsohadhisheadhairsnotcutbuttiedonhisheadlikeancientpeople.Butheworethepants.Healsoworepants.Hewasakindman.IhadmethimathishouseinthequarterstwotimeswhenIdidmyM.SC,hegavemecoffeeandsomeeatablestoeat.Atthattimethereweretwochildrentohim.LaterwhenI cametoMaduraiKamarajUniversityintheyear1993[ihopethisyearmaybetrue], onedaymorningtherewasabusaccidentbywhichhefellonthegroundfromhisnewscooternear StatebankofIndiatotheM.K.Universitymaingate,Hewassaidhediedinthataccident.WheniIdidmyM.SCMathsatM.KUniversity,Mr.Kalamohan,whobelongstoourMelayakudiVellalarcaste,wasworkingasan AssistantintheM.KUniversitymainoffice.

 AftermyM.SCMathematics,IjoinedasanM.PHILMathematicsstudentintheschoolofMathematics,MaduraiKamarajUniversity,Maduraiintheyear1983.IattendedsomeclassesintheM.phil.AtthattimeIwasstayingasaguestwithmyM.SCjuniorMr.Poongundran'sroom,intheBharathiHostel.Hepaidmemymesschargeforaboutonemonth.Butlater IrepaidhismoneyafterIgot employmentintheLIC.[Ihopeso].IalsoappliedfortheJRFjuniorresearchfellowshiptodoaPh.D. course.AtthattimetherewasnoCSIR/UGCNETexam.theuniversitywouldreleaseanadvertisementthenweshouldapplythenaftertheinterviewtheuniversityselectedthecandidatesforJRF.IwasawardedJRFtodoaPh.D.inmathematicsSoIdiscontinued M.PHILCourseandIjoinedasaJRFPh.D.student.ButIwasunableeventogetonehundredrupeestoregisterformyPh.D. intheuniversity.AtthattimeIhadwrittenexamsandthenmedicaltestsforthepostofAssistantintheLifeInsuranceCorporationofIndiaundertheMaduraiDivisionaloffice.Myparentsalsowereinpoverty.firstyoungerbrotherMr.Karunanithiwasmadetoworkinasmallprivatemess NirmalamessinParamakudi,asacleanerbydiscontinuinghissixthstandardclassstudiesbymyfather...Atthattimethemonthlytotalsalarywas rupees691forthepostofassistantintheLIC.ButthemonthlyfellowshipunderJRFtodoaPh.D. wasrupees600.TheproblemwaseventhatJRFrupees600 wouldnotbegivenbytheUGC/Universityeachmonthassoonasastudentjoininit.Theuniversitywouldpaythe  JRFmoneyonlyafteroneyearasatotalamount.Henceduetopoverty,I hadtojoinasanAssistantintheLIC IalsoconsultedmyPof.K.R.Nagarajanaboutmysituation.ThenIwrotealettertoProf.K.R.NagarajanaboutmyjoiningtheLICafterI waspostedatLICofIndia,Paramakudibranchoffice.AtthattimetheminimumeducationalqualificationwasanM.phildegreeforcollegeanduniversityteachingjobsinIndiaasperUniversitygrantscommissionrules.EvenifI hadpassedM.PHILMathematicsatthattime,IshouldhavegotLecturerinMathematicsjobinsomegovtorgovtaidedcollegesinTamilnaduatthattime. WhenI  firstjoinedasM.PHILMathematicsintheM.KUniversitythereweretwomutuallydisjointclassesforM.Philonefortheregularstudentsandanother forthecollegeregularmathematicslecturerswhocamebytheUGCFIPschemewithleavewithpaidsalariesandallowances.

CHAPTER-2,MYLIFEINTHELICOFINDIA.

On2ndJanuary1984,I  wenttoTheLifeInsuranceCorporationofIndiaDivisionaloffice,Maduraiatabout2o'clockafternoontojoinintheAssistantpostforwhichI  wasgivenaselectionorderbythedivisionalmanageraftermyinterview.IhadalreadypassedawrittenexaminationconductedbytheLIC  atMaduraidivisionallevel. Therewasanin-persontrainingforallthosewhoweregivenappointmentordersalongwithmeattheLICofIndiaDivisionaloffice,MaduraifortwoweeksfromJanuarysecondto13thJanuary1984.Allselectedcandidatesexceptmejoinedthetrainingat10o'clockmorningonthatdaybutIwenttotheLICdivisionalofficeonlyat2o'clockafternoon.ThereasonwasthatIwasthinkingifIcouldjointheLICorcontinuewithmyPh.D. studiesatMaduraiKamarajUniversity.On onesideI  wasunabletogetenoughmoneyeventoregisterformyPh.D. intheuniversityandI  wasunabletogetevena bankloanformyPh.D. course,ontheotherhand,myfamilywasunderacutepoverty.HowcanI concentrateonmyresearchwhenIwasthinkingaboutmyfoodproblemsdaily.WithoutgivingmyresignationfrommyJRFIjoinedtheLIC atabout2o'clockpm.Theadministrativeofficer[establishment]askedmewhyI  wasverylatetojoinintheemployment.Itoldthemmyproblemandheagreedtoallowmetojointhetrainingaftergettingmyjoiningreport.,withamedicalreport.TheLICdivisionalofficegavealltheselectedcandidateswhowereparticipatinginthetraininggoodlunchdailyfoodandcoffee inthemorningandevening.Butwewereaskedtostaywithourownarrangements.Inthetraining,weweregivenwhatwasLICofIndiawasandwhatwasitdoingtothepeopleandthenation.UntilIattended thistrainingI  didnotknowanydetailsaboutLIC.Eventhe LICofIndiastaffrulesweregiventous.Atlast,theLICofficialsaskedaboutmychoiceofworkplaceIaskedtheParamakudiLICBranchoffice.IwasgivenapostingasAssistantattheLifeInsuranceCorporationofIndia,branchofficeatParamakudiRamanathapuramdistrict,Tamilnadu.

AfterthepostingorderwasissuedtomeIalongwiththreeotherMr.Senthamarai,Ganeshbabu,andagirljoinedattheParamakudiLICbranchoffice.ThatgirlwasanativeofParamakudi,aSourashtra castegirl.NowI  forgothernameasIhadnocommunicationwithherfromtheyear1987.Ms.TheresaalsoworkedwithmeatParamakudi.ShewasfromKaraikudiandwasanunmarriedChristiangirl.ShewasstayingwiththeChristiansistersintheAlangaraMatha Church, near Om ShanmugacinematheaterandfivecornerroadatParamakudi.OnonedayI sentmybrotherKarunanithitomeetTheresainherconventtogettwentyrupees.Shegavethismoneyatthattime.ButaftershegottransferredtoKaraikudiIdidnothaveanycommunicationwithher. 

 AssoonasIjoinedasanAssistantinthe  LICbranchofficeParamakudi,IsentalettertoProf.K.R.NagarajanthatIhadjoinedasanAssitantintheLICbranchofficeatParamakudi.Then heaskedmetosendhimaproperletterdiscontinuingmyJRF.SoIsentalettingdiscontinuingmyJRF.him.IdidthatwithgreatsadnessasitwasnotgoodformetodiscontinuemyJRFatthattime.ButI  wasunableofindsomepersontogetsomemoneytopayevenmyregistrationfeesofonehundredrupeesatthattime.SoIhadtoaccepttheLIC orwhichonly  SSLCqualificationwasenoughatthattime.ButtogetaJRF andtodoaPh.D. courseinMathematicsthereshouldbeatleastagoodpost-graduateinMathematicswithgoodbasicinMathematics.Anyway,moneyisnecessaryforallthingsatalltimes.ThenIaskedmyfirstyoungerbrotherKarunanithitodiscontinuehismesscleaningworkinNirmalamessParamakudi,near  Ravicinematheater,andthenhewasjoinedasastudentinthesixthstandardatGovernmentboys HighersecondaryschoolinParamakudi...Hewasallowedtoeatat PonnaiahmesswhenheneedfoodinmyaccountwhereIusedtoeatfoodatParamakudi.Mybrotherdailywenttomyvillagebybicycleintheeveningafterhisschoolhours,theninthemorning,hereturnedtoParamakuditohis.school.HewouldbringlunchformefromourhomeoftenwhenhecametoParamakudi.Withmymeagersalaryofrupes691permonthinthebeginningintheLIC ofIndia,Iwasabletogivegoodfoodtomyparents,brothers,andsistersatthattime.Inourhome,weusuallyfollowedonlyvegetablefood.OnlyfortheTamilmonthoftheAadiandDiwapalifestival,ourparentsboughtfish.Someyearsmyfather'sbrotherKarmegamYadavgiftedsomemuttontoourparentswhenI  wasinmyschooldaysatmyvillage.forDiwaliandAadifestivals.

 AtthattimemysecondyoungerbrotherIlavarasuwasthreeyearsoldonly...HestudiedinthewestMuslimmiddleschoolfromthefirststandardtothethirdstandard.MyfatherbroughthimbybicyclefromMelayakuditoParamakudiandthenhewouldtakehimbacktoMelayakudiafterhisclass.GovernmentschoolswereavailableinMelayakudi.ButmybrotherswerestudiedinschoolsatParamakudiforsomeclasses.FromJanuary1984toJune1987,IstayedatthreedifferentplacesinParamakudi.OneroomoppositethepresentDevenragulaVellalarassociationmarriagehall.AtthattimeMr.KamarajwashavingMarconiradioservicemechanicalshoponthefirstfloorofanoldbuilding.nexttohisshopwastheroomIstayedinforsomemonthsforrent.somemorepersonswerestayingintheroom.Agovtbusdriver,Mr.Thangavelu,whowaslaterworkedascooperativesub-registrarinTamilnadugovtdept,Mr.Rajendren,whoworkedintheAavinmilksociety,ThenIstayedwitha manwhowasanagriculturalofficeronthefirstfloorofaChettiarhouseinAyyaduraistreet,Paramakudi.Oneofmyrelativesman  Mr.Chellasamy,whodidnotcompletehisB.COM atYadavacollege,Madurai,metmeatParamakudiandaskedmetohelphimtocompleteB.COM.ThenI, withhisfinancialhelp,arrangedforatutorialcollegeinmyroomsothathecouldalsogetcoachingfromsomeotherteachertoclearhisB.COMdegree.BeforewestartthecoachingcentercalledStudents Coaching Center,The   Agriculturalofficerhadleftthatroomtosomeotherplace...Forbenches,tables,chairs,Mr.Chellasamyspentsomemoney.Iwaslikeapart-timeprincipal[honorary] fortwoyearswithoutanysalaryforme.iwasworkingintheLIC Ishouldnotworkforasalaryinotherplaces.Manyschoolstudentscametothecoachingclassesinourcoachingcenter.someunemployedpostgraduatescametospendtimeandgivefreecoachingtothestudents.Myfriendadvocate Mr.Megavarnam,advocate,Mr. Rajendren,Mr.Mangalanathen, Mr.Jeyaseelan,Ramarajan[LIC agent],weresomeofthemwhocameoftentoourcoachingcenterwhentherewerewithoutemploymentsaftertheircollegestudies.ButthetwoadvocateswerepracticinginTaluk Court in Paramakudi. Twograduategirls,Ms.MeenaandMs.Jayawereworkingasteachersinthecoachingcenter. .Mr.ChellachamypassedallhissubjectswithinayearthenhewasdoingM.COMbycorrespondencecourse.HebecameanagentinParamakudiLICthroughadevelopmentofficerofLICParamakudi.Afterhebecomewellknownhebecameunfriendlytome. LaterMr.ChellachasmybecameaDevelopmentofficeintheLICofIndiaandhewasworkingintheLICBranch,Sankarankovil. WhenIwasworkingintheLICParamakudi,IwenttoPune,Maharashtra,totheNationalDefenceAcademyforthepostoflecturerinmaths.IalsoattendedaninterviewontheselectionboardfortheIndianNavyteachingbranchatBhopalMathiyapradesh.Intheyear1986,IwrotetheentranceexaminationconductedbytheActuarialSocietyofIndia,MumbaiandI  passedinit.IwasonepersonamongthefourpersonswhopassedthatentranceexaminApril1986throughoutIndia.[ActuarialsocietyofIndiawasrenamedas  Institueof  Actuaries,Indialater]IwantedtogetatransfertotheLICofIndiaofficeinLondonfromParamakudi.Butthechairman,LICofIndia,Centraloffice,Mumbai,didnotgivemeatransfertotheLICofficeinLondonatthattime.ThenI becameastudentmemberoftheInstituteofActuaries,London,bycorrespondencecourse.TheadmissionfeesandexamfeestoeachpaperweregivenbytheLICtome.Iwrotetwopapers,'Mathematicsoffinance','probability,andstatistics'twotimesbutI  didnotpassthem.in1989intheInstituteofActuariesLondon,examination. EvenIwroteanexaminationintheyear1992.ButIdidnotpassinit.Idoubttheexaminationsystemwasnotproper.Thatwaslikethe  CSIRNETexaminationinIndia. ButtheexaminationquestionpapersintheInstituteofActuariesweredescriptiveliketheuniversitysemesterexaminationssomethirtyyearsagoinIndia.Thattheytooksomequestionsknowntosomegroupofpersons.ThenI discontinuedmymembershipfromtheyear1993withtheInstituteofActuaries,London.

WhenIwasworkingintheLICoffice,Paramakudi,IwenttoDindigultoattendmySSLCclassmateMr.Sagathevan'sMarriageatAmbathurai,Dindigul.Mr.SagathevanwasstudyinghisschooluptoSSLCinMelayakudi.Atthattimehewaslivingwithhisuncle'sfamilyinMelayakudi.AfterIattendedhismarriageIwenttoVakkampattynearDindigultoseemyoldgirlfriendMs.M.Rathinaselvi.Ms.M.RathinaselviwasmygirlfriendwhenwewerestudyingM.SCMathematicsattheSchoolofMathematics,MaduraiKamarajUniversityfrom1982to1983.AtthattimeIdidmysecond-yearM.SCandshedidherfirst-yearM.SCthere.HerhomewasintheVakkampattivillage.Herfatherwasaschoolteacher.ShebelongedtotheVanniarcaste,Backwardclass.Herfatherwelcomedme.Hermotherwasalsoinherhome.ButMs.Rathinaselviwasnothappytoseemeatherhome.Sheaskedme,'whydoyoucomehere?'Igaveabiscuittoherandshegotit.Herfatheraskedhertobuycoffeefromashopinhervillage.ButIaskedthemnottobuycoffeeforme.ThenIgotpermissiontoleaveforParamakudiwithintenminutestime.AfterIreturnedtoParamakudiIsentalettertoherbutshewroteareplynottosendanyletterandshedidnotlikeme.ThenIdidnothaveanycommunicationwithher.Butlater,whenIwasworkingasalecturerinmathematicsinGandhigramRuralInstitute-Deemeduniversityfrom3rdApril2016to2ndApril2017,amanwasworkingasasecurityintheGRI.HetoldmethathewasfromVakkampattivillageandMs.M.RathinaselcviwasmarriedtoanadvocateandshewasworkinginsomegovernmenthighersecondaryschoolinPondichery.

IappliedforatransferfromLIC,ParamakudibranchofficetoMaduraiformystudiespurpose.SoI  gottransferredtoLICofIndia,branchoffice,Thirunagar,MaduraiinJune1987.ThereI gotarentedhouseforrupeesfourhundredpermonthinanoldbutseparatehouseatC/51.Meenakshistreet,Third busstop,Thirunagar,Madurai,My firstyoungersisterTamilpackiavathi[Tamilarasi],mysecondyoungersisterUmathenkaniandmyfirstyoungerbrotherKarunanithiwerewithmeatThirunagar'shouse.MybrotherKarunanithiwasadmittedtoPasumalaiHighersecondaryschoolintheninthstandard.Hestudiedthereforoneyearbuthedidnotpassit.MysisterUmathenkanistudiedfromthesixthstandardtothetwelfthstandardatSeethalakshmigirlshighersecondaryschool,Thirunagarwhichwasveryneartoourhouse.

 IdidmyM.PHILMathematicsatMaduraiKamarajUniversityeveningcollege,Algarkovilroad Tallakulam,Maduraiduringtheyears1988to1990..Iattendedtheeveningclassesfrom6o'clockto9o'clockatnight,aftermyLICofficehourswereover,  threedayseachweek.Intheyear1989,I wenttoMumbaitoattendActuarialtrainingclassesformyActuarialstudiesforaboutthreeweeks.IstayedintheManagementDevelopmentCentre LICofIndia,Borivali,Mumbai.AboutfortystudentswhowereemployeesofLICIndiaattendedthetraining.ThecostwasbytheLIC.WeweregivenbothfoodandlodgingattheMDC,LIC.ButI  wasunabletovisitanyplaceasIdidnothavemoremoneyandI didnotknowtheHindilanguage.Alsoafterthetraining,wehadtoreturntoourrespective LICofficesthenextdayandweweregivenareturntrainticketbyreservation.HenceIcouldnotbeabletostaythereafterourtraining.

 IntheM.PHILMathematicscourse,Ilearnedsixwrittenpapers.Threepapersinthefirstyearandthreepapersinthesecondyear.AsthecoursewasbyeveningclassestwoyearswasthedurationoftheM.PHILbythepart-timemethod.inIndiaatthattime.Ipassedtwopapersonanalysisandonepaperonalgebrainthefirst-yearuniversityM.PHILexamination.Inthesecondyear,onepaperinanalysis,onepaperinprobabilityandstatistics,andanotheronalgebraicnumbertheoryasaresearchsubjectwerepassedbyme.TherewasatotalofsixpapersformyM.PHILdegreeinMathematics.Insteadofadissertation,wehadaresearchsubjectpaperalgebraicnumbertheory.Forthis. researchsubjectinsteadofaninternalwrittenpaper,I  hadavivavoicetestfor100marks.TheUniversityexammarkforeachsubjectwas100.Ipassed  M.philmathematicswithfirstclassintheyear1990.Atthesametime,IalsopassedStatelevelscreeningtest-SLSTforeligibilitytoalectureshipinmathematicsintheyear1990.TheUGCfirstintroducedsuchaneligibilitytestfromtheyear1989.HencetheTamilnadustateintroducedtheSLSCin1990...

WhenIwasinthesecondyearM.PHILMathematicscoursebyM.K.Universityeveningcollege,theMaduraiKamarajUniversityincreasedthefeesesforallcoursesuptotentimes.SoI withsomeotherM.philstudentsmettheVice-chancellortodemandhimtodecreasethefeestoM.PHILcourses.Buthedidnotdecreaseit.Thevice-chancellortoldusthatM.PHILwasstudiedbywealthystudentsanditwasavaluablecourse.AshedidnotreducethefeesI  printedpostalnoticesinpaperstoreducethefeesesandmadethempasteinmanyplacesinMadurai.Ialsosubmitteda writtenlettertothevice-chancellortoreducethefees.Buthedidnotreducethem.Ialsowentonafastingstrikebeforethe  M.KUniversityeveningcollegemaingateduringthemorningaday.ButIwastaken totheTallakulampolicestation,Madurai,bythepolice,andIwasaskedtostaythere.ButIsubmittedaletterthatIcanceledmyfastingsonthatday.ThenI  wasallowedtogooutofthepolicestation.AstheofficebearersofourM.PHILeveningcollegestudentsAssociation, werenotsupportingmeforthefastingI wasunabletoleadthefastingsuccessfully.

Inthemeantime,mostoftheLICemployeeswhojoinedasassistantsalongwithmegotpromotionstohighergradeassistantsafterpassingsomeIndianexamsoninsurance.ButasI  wasdoingAssociateshipintheInstituteofActuaries,London,andasI didnotpasseventwopapersinit,Iwasnotabletogetapromotionevenaftereightyears.Also,IpassedsometestsliketheHGAtest,LIC DevelopmentOfficertests,computeroperatortestsintheLICandI  alsopassedacertificatecoursebycorrespondencecourseinacomputerprogramfromThiagarajarCollegeofEngineering,Madurai...SoIwantedtobecomealecturerinmathematicsandhenceIdidmyM.philinmathematicsbyuniversityeveningcollege.andpassedtheM.PHILMathematicsinApril1990withfirst-class.

Duringtheyear1989,mysecondyoungerbrotherIlavarasuwasbroughttoThirunagarbymyfatherfromMelayakudiandheaskedmetoarrangehisschoolstudiesatThirunagar.ButasmyfirstyoungerbrotherdidnotstudywellinhisPasumalaihighersecondaryschoolandhediscontinuedhisstudiesatthatschoolalsoIwasnothappytomakemysecondyoungerbrotherarrangehisschoolthere. Ihadsomeproblemsduetomyfirstyoungerbrother.MysecondyoungerbrotherIlavarasuwasjoinedintheSavithapayhighersecondaryschoolanaidedschoolinThirunagarinthefourthstandardintheacademicyear1989.HewasstayingwithmeinourrentedhouseatMeenakshistreet,Thirunagar,MaduraialongwithmyothertwosistersTamilpackiyavathiandUmathenkani.WhileUmathenkaniwasstudyingwellinSeethalakshmigirl'shighersecondaryschoolthere,Tamilpackiavathiwaslookingafterourhouseworkslikecookingfoodandkeepingmybrotherandsistersathome.MyM.SC seniorMr.A.RajamohanafterhisB.Ed somewherewasstudyingM.C.AatThiagarajarCollegeofEngineeringinThiruparankundram,near,Thirunagar,Maduraithen.Onedayhevisitedourhouseasaguestwhenmymotherwasinmyhousethere.AfterhisM.C.Ahegotacomputerprogrammer[lecturergrade]jobinthedepartmentofcomputerscience,MaduraiKamarajUniversity,Madurai.LaterhebecameAssociateProfessorinthesamedepartmentandheretiredfromthatpostayearago. 

AfterI cametotheLICbranchoffice,Thirunagar,Maduraiintheyear1987,I somedayswenttoMr.Sathuvan'shousetomeethimnearthefifthbusstopinThirunagar..Mr.SathuvanwasworkingasahighergradeassistantalongwithhiswifeintheLICwithmeinThirunagaratthattime.Atthattime hisyoungschooldaughterMs.Valentinawasdoingsomesixthstandardorsomeotherclassina girls'schoolthere.WhenIwenttohishouse,thegirlwelcomedmewithasmilingfaceandakindvoice.Mr.SathuvanwasThevarcasteandhiswifebelongedtoVellalar,castebothbelongingtothebackwardclassinTamilnadu.SathuvansfatherwasaretiredTahsildaragedaboutseventyormoreyearsatthattime.Hewasalsoagoodman.LaterMr.SthuvanconstructedagoodhomenearKalaivanicinematheaterinThirunagarbygettingahouseloanfromLIC.HisdaughterValentinathenstudiedM.B.AatThe AmericanCollege,Madurai.ButI  didnothaveanyfriendlyrelationshipwithherthoughI knewherwhenIwasintheLIC,Tirunagar.ThoughbothMr.SathuvanandhiswifewereworkinginthesameLICofficewithmewithgoodsalaries,theywereunhappyduetowantingmoremoneytomeettheirdailyfamilyexpenditures.Buttheyhadonlyonedaughter.AfterIleftLICIheardSathuvanswifepassedawaywhileshewasworkinginLICandherdaughtergotemploymentintheLIC.ButIdidnotmeetherorherfatherSaduvanafterIresignedfrommyLICjob.

 Mr.SenthamaraiwasalsoworkingwithmeatThirunagarLIC.HishomewasnearPasumalai,Madurai.Hewasagoodman.IgotrupeestwentyasaloansometimeswhenIwasintheLICThirunagar.ButIrepaidthemtohimintime.LaterhegotapromotiontoHighergradeassistantintheLICandhewaspostedinsomeotherLICoffice. Oneassistantadministrativeofficer,Mr.ManimoliyanwasworkingintheLICThirunagarwhenIwasalsoworkingthere.HehadhisownhomenearthefifthbusstopThirunagar.HiswifewasanEnglishlecturerinMeenakshigovernmentwomen'scollege,Madurai.Buthewasunwellinhishealthduetosomeproblem.He didnothaveanychildrenButhewascaringforasonofhissisterasanadoptedson.AtthattimeheusedtogototheLICoffice,Thirunagar.byautorickshawfromhishome.Laterhebecameanadministrativeofficer.HebelongedtotheChetttiyarcaste.Hewasagoodman.When Ifirstjoinedthe ThirunagarbranchaBrahminmanwasthebranchmanagerofthisoffice.Hewasaverygoodandkindman...Latersomeothermancameasthebranchmanagertothatoffice, hebelongedtonon-brahminsbuthegavemesomedifficultiesevenwithoutgivingaseatchangewhentheseatwasvacantduetothetransferoftheconcernedemployeesintheoffice.

TheLICofIndiabranchofficeatThirunagarwasfunctioninginarentedbuilding'sfirstfloorintheKalaivanicinematheatercomplex,nearthe secondbusstopinThirunagar,Madurai.BelowtheLICoffice,onthegroundfloor,therewastheCanarabankbranchoffice.TheKalaivanicinematheaterwasworkingasusualnearourLICoffice.OppositetoKalivanicinematheater,therewasPandinaducooperativetraininginstitute,ownedbythegovernmentofTamilnadu.Mr.ChandranwhowasamarriedmanwiththreeorfourdaughterswasworkingasaManagerinthePandianaduCooperativetrainingInstitute.Hewasstayingneartheinstitutewithhisfamilyandhiswife.HebelongstotheYadavacasteandhisnativevillagewasnearMuthukulathur,Ramanathapuramdistrict,Tamilnadu.Iknowhimfromaknownmanstudentofanearbyvillage.ThefirstdaughterofMr.Chandranwasstudyinginsomecollegeatthattime.Shewasagoodandyellowcolor.ThoughIwenttohishomesometimesI  didnottalktohisdaughters.ButhisseconddaughterwasstudyingintheSeethalaksmigirls'highersecondaryschoolwithmysisterinThirunagaratthattime.Heinquiredaboutmeandmyfamily.Buthedidnottalkabouthisdaughter'smarriage.AsmyparentswerepoorandIwaslookingaftermybrothersandsisters,hedidnottalkabouthisfirstdaughter'smarriage.Butlaterhearrangedhisfirstdaughter'smarriagewithsomeman.AfterI  resinedmyLICjobon3rdNovember1994,I  methimsometimesbutformorethantenyearsI  didnothaveanycommunicationwithhim.

Eveninthesamecastethoughamanisgoodinhealth,education,andemployment,theparentsofunmarriedyounggirlswanttofindamanwithlessfamilyresponsibilityandtogetfinancialsupportfrom.theirfuturebridegroomoftheirdaughter.ThusinTamilnaduandinIndia,themarriagesarearrangedeitherbytheparentswiththesupportofsomemarriagebrokersorcaste/religiousgroupslikeacattlebusinessinIndia.WhenIwasworkingintheLICbranchThirunagar,Madurai,oneunmarriedgraduategirlgottransferredtoourofficefromHyderabad.ShewasalsoaTamilgirlbutbelongtoaChristianNadar.Shewaspostedinmydepartment'sNewbusinessalongwithme.shewassittingnexttomyseatinouroffice.ButIdidnotaskhernameandtalkedwithherforaboutonemonthevenaftershejoinedmydepartment.WhenoneLICagentmetmeandaskedmewhatwashernamethenonlyIaskedherwhatwashername.ThenshewasangrywithmeforIdidnotwanttoknowhernameevenafteronemonthwithher.However,Imighthavetalkedoneortwowordsaboutofficework.ButwithinoneyearshegottransferredtosomeotherbranchofficeinMadurai.Ididnothaveanycommunicationwithher.

 WhenIworkedintheLICThirunagar,Isent rupeesfiftyeachmonthtosomegirlstudentbelongingtotheYadavacasteandstudyinginEMGYadavwomen'scollege,Madurai,whereMr.S.GopalakrishnaYadavwasthesecretaryandcorrespondentatthattime.He helpedmewithmyhostelfeeswhenIdidmyM.SCMathematicsatMaduraiKamarajuniversityearlier.In theyear1993,mymoneywasgivento Ms.Selvakani,aYadavcastegirlfromThirupachethiandwhowasdoingB.SCmathsinthatcollege.Forthecollegehosteldayfunction,Iwasinvitedbythecollege,principalonbehalfofthesecretary,soIwenttothatcollegeintheeveningtime.ImetthecollegeprincipalMrs.Poovalakinwhowasmy.M.SCclassmateintheMaduraiKamarajUniversityduringtheyears1981-1983.IAlsometMr.S.GopalakrishnaYadav,thecollegesecretary.IwasthenintroducedtoMs.Selvaraniwhoreceivedmymoneymonthlyforsomemonthsintheyear.Shewasgoodandyellowcoloredwithabout165cmheightwithgoodheadhairsandmediumbodybuilt.Shetalkedwithmekindly.Shealsoservedmefoodinperson.Thenduringthefunction,shepresentedmewithathread-madesalvai[well-designedcloth].ItalkedaboutthefinancialhelpgotfromMr.S.GopalakrishnaYadav,whowasthecollegesecretaryandwhowasalsoseatedinthefunctionthere.IalsotalkedaboutMrs.PoovalakiandI saidthatshewasmyM.SCclassmateandIwastheonlystudentwhopassedallthesubjectsinmyM.SCfirstsemesterandPoovalakifailedinonepaperatthattime.Thestudentsinthefunctionmadehappyvoicesthen.Afterthefunction,IgetpermissionfromthesecretaryandMs.SelvakanitoleaveformyhouseatThirunagar.AftersomedaysIsentrupeestwohundredandfiftytoMs.Selvakanibymoneyordertohernametothecollegeaddressandsent alettertoheralso.Butbeforethat,IsentmoneytotheprincipalofthecollegebymoneyorderbyIndianPostandtheprincipalshouldgivethemoneytothestudent.AftersomedaysIgotaletterfromthecollegesecretarythatI  shouldnottalkabouttheprincipalPoovalakiandshouldnotsendanymoneydirectlytothestudent.AtthattimeIwasthirty-twoyearsold[completed].Iwasanunmarriedman.andIwasemployedasanAssistantintheLICofIndiawithM.SCandM.PHILqualifications.IwasalsounmarriedwiththesameYadavacaste.Iwasnormalinmyhealth.IwasalreadyintroducedtothegirlwhommymoneywasbeinggivenbytheprincipaleachmonthforsomemonthsandIwasalsowell-knowntothecollegesecretary.Inthissituation,theydidnotlikemetosendmoneytothegirldirectly.Thatgirlalsodidnotsendanyreplytome.

IwasfoundinganassociationwiththenameTamilnaducollegeanduniversitystudentsandgraduatesassociationattheregistrarofficeMaduraiintheyear1993withtheofficeaddressofmyrentedhousec/51,Meenakshistreet,Thirunagar,Madurai.Iwasthepresident,Ms.Premafromweaverscolony,Thirunagar,thefifthstreetwasthetreasurer,andPondywasasecretarywithMr.Mari,Mr.K.K.Murugesanandsomeothersasmembersoftheassociationexecutivecommittee.Mr.R.VenkatasubbuwhoalreadyworkedwithmeintheLICasatemporaryassistantforsomemonthsalsoactivelyinvolvedintheassociationmeetingsthreetimes.ThefirstmeetingwasconductedatamarriagehallinThiruparankundram.ThenonemeetingwasconductedintheAnanthmatriculationschool,Thirunagar.ThenothermeetingswereheldinourhouseatThirunagar.OnemeetingwasheldatthehomeofMs.PremainThirunagar.Shegaveherlunchtosomefivepersonswhoattendedthemeetingsinherhome.ShestudiedherBachelorofArtsin  EnglishatSourasthracollege,Pasumalai,Madurai,andthenshedidherM.Athere.ThensheworkedatPallathurwomen'scollegeasalecturerinEnglish.ThenshegotmarriedandsheworkedasalecturerinEnglishatSourasthracollege.Ididnothaveanycommunicationforthelastfifteenyearswithher.Bythisassociation,Iconductedthestate-levelessaywritingcompetition,threetimesandtheprizesweregivenalongwithprintedcertificatestoalltheparticipants.Igotadonationofrupeestwothousandandfivehundred[2500]fromthechairman,IndianBank,Chennai,Headofficefortheassociationintheyear1993-1994.Somemoneyliketwentyrupeesorfiftyrupeeswerecollectedfromthecontestantfortheessaycompetitiontomeettheprizeexpenditures.AsIwasworkingintheLICIusedtospendsomemoneyfrommysalaryfortheassociation.

WhenI wasintheLIC atParamakudiI gotanewyeargreetingletterfrommyjuniorgirlMs.K.Jayalakshmi,whowasdoingherPh.D.courseattheSchoolofMathematics, MaduraiKamarajUniversityatthattimeafterherM.SCthere. Ms.BuelafromtheMandapamcampmetmein1993-1994forherfurtherM.AadmissionintheMaduraiKamarajUniversity.AtthattimeIwasworkingintheLICatThirunagar.ShemetmeattheLIC inthemorning.SoIgotleavefrommyofficeintheafternoonandI tookhertotheMaduraiUniversityEnglishdepartmentforwritingatestforM.Aadmission. ItookhertotheTamildepartmentwhereProf.Muthiahwasalecturer.Iintroducedhertohim.Thenshereturnedtosomeothergirlfriend'shome.ShewasselectedintheM.Aclass.ShestudiedM.AandstayedintheM.Kuniversitygirlshostel.InmyfirstessaycontestMs.S.Sujatha,Cauverywomen'scollege,Thiruchirapally,gotaprize.Shewasalsomadeamemberoftheassociation.Manycollegestudentsjoinedtheassociation.ImetMs.S.Sujathaatherhomein10,ThiruvenkatamNagar,nearnewbusstand,Thanjavurintheyear1993or1994.IwenttoTanjavurtoattendaninterviewatacollegeinKovilveninearTanjavur.Beforetheinterview,Iwenttoherhomeearlymorning.FromThenewbusstandTanjavur,Iwentbyautorickshaw.IaskedsomehouseownerstofindwherewasthehomeofS.Sujatha.Atlast,Iwenttoherhome.A beautifulandkindgirlwasdrawingagraph[kolam]onthegroundinfrontofthehomeataboutsixo'clockinthemorning.AssoonasI  reachedtheplaceI  toldheraboutmynameandI  hadcomefromMadurai.ShewasveryhappytoseemethereandIwascalledbyherintoherhomewhereherparentsandherbrotherwereinsidethehome...IwasgivengoodwatertotakebarthandIwasgivengoodfoodinherhome.Shewasanunmarriedabouttwentyyearsoldkindgirl.herbrotherwasstudyingatH.SC classinaschoolatTanjavurthen.Herfatherwasatthetimeunemployedandhehadsomehealthprobleminhisleg.Herfatherworkedinthespinningfactorynearherhomebut itwasclosedforsomemonthsduetosomeproblems.Sotheirfamilywasnoteconomicallywellatthattime.Itookherbrother,Mr.ArunKumar,toashopandboughtsomeamountofriceandsomegroceriesforherhomeuse. HerfatherMr.SridharanandhermotherMalawerekindtome.Hermotherwasmorekindtome.Aftermyinterview,IwenttoherhomeagainintheeveningandI leftforMadurai.

 WhenIworkedintheLICatMadurai,Thirunagar,I wasdeliberatelydeniedevenseatchangeinthesameofficemanytimeswhentherewerevacantseats.Sotherewasaquarrelbetweenmeandthebranchmanagerin1994.So therewasaninquiryonthismatterbytheLICdivisionaloffice.I wasnothappywiththis.SoIwantedtoresignsafelyfromthere.Afterpropernoticetotheseniordivisionalmanager,LICMadurai,thethenseniordivisionalmanagercametoThirunagar,LICbranchofficeonedaybeforeI  wasrelievedandrequestedmetowithdrawmyresignationletter.ButIalreadyappliedfortheM.PHILFuturesstudiescourseandIwasselectedtojointhiscourse.HenceIdidnotwithdrawmyresignationletter.SoIwasrelievedon3rdNovember1994.IgotsomemoneyasagratuityfromtheLICofIndia. 

WhenI  wasworkingintheLICatThirunagar,I metMr.ArchunanwhowasworkingasaP.G.Assistant inchemistryintheM.Mhighersecondaryschool,Thirunagar.HewasstudyinghisM.SCChemistryatMaduraiKamaraj Universityduring1981-1983andhewasalsostayingintheuniversityhostelatthattime.HewashavingarelationshipwithhisM.scgirlclassmatethen.HemarriedthatgirlwhowasalsoworkingasaP.GAssistantinsomegovernmenthighersecondaryschoolinsomeplacenearMadurai.Theyhad somesonsatthattime.HewasalsoteachingprivatetuitionclassesinhishomeafterschoolhoursatThirunahar,WhenIwasworkingintheLICThirunagar, Ijoinedthepost-graduatediplomainpersonalandIndustrialrelationscourseatMaduraiSchoolofSocialsciencesbyeveningcourse.ButaftersomeweeksIdiscontinuedthatcourse.IalsodidacertificatecourseincomputerprogramsinThiagarajarCollegeofEngineering,Thiruparankundram, MaduraibycorrespondencecourseandIcompletedit.

 WhenIwaswritingmyassociateshipexaminationfortheInstituteofActuaries,London,bycorrespondencecourse,atLICofIndiaSouth  ZonalofficeLICbuildingatAnnaSalaiChennaiImetMs.BanumathiwhoalsocametheretowritetheexamfromOoty Tamilnaduduringtheyear1987to1992.Aftertheexamination,ImetherintheexamvenueandI  askedhername.ButIdidnotaskforherphoneorhomeaddress.ShetoldthatshewasnotworkingbutwritingtheInstituteofActuariesexamprivately.AftersomemonthstheresultoftheexaminationwassentbyposttomebytheInstituteofActuaries,London. ButIdidnotpasstheexaminations.IwantedtoknowaboutMs.Banumathi'sresult.IsentalettertotheInstituteofActuaries,London,tosendmethehomeaddressofMs.Banumathi.ButtheInstituteofActuariesdidnotsendherhomeaddresstome.ButtheInstituteofActuariesaskedmetosndmylettertotheInstituteofActuariesfirstandtheywouldforwardthelettertoher.Ifsheliked shemightreplytome.SoIsendmylettertoBanumathitotheInstituteofActuaries,London,AftersomeweeksIgotaletterfromMs.BanumathifromOoty,TamilnaduthatshewassurprisedtoreceivemyletterthroughtheInstitueofActuaries,London.Shegavemeherhomeaddressandwrotemethatshewaswithherbrother'sfamily.Shesaidtheymightchangetheirhouseaddresssoon.AfterI  sent alettertohershereplied.ThenI didnothaveanycommunicationfromher.

WhenI wasworkingintheLICThirungar,Madurai,I  wenttoattendtheActuarialtrainingclassesatLICofIndiazonaltrainingcenter,Ambattur,Chennaifrom24February1992to14thMarch1992.asIwastowritetheMathematicsoffinanceexaminationinMay1992heldbyInstituteofActuaries,London.Thirty-sixstudentsincluding12girlswereattendingthetraining.AllofthemwereemployeesofLIC.Mr.R.B.KishorewastheprincipalandninefacultymemberswereintheZTC.Mr.GovindanandSathiyanarayananfromtheActuarialdepartmentLICSouthZonewereguestfaculties.AllofuswerestayingintheLICZTC hostel.Eachpersonwasgivenaseparate roomthere.Foodwasalsosuppliedtoallofusinthecommondining hall.Ms.N.Kalpanawasoneofthem.ShewasabrahmingirlwhowasaB.SCgraduateandanemployeeofLIC.Shewasunmarriedofageabout21years.Iwasatthattimethirty-oneyearsold.andIwasunmarried.Duringnightdinnertimewhenmanyofuswereeatingfood,shecametomyseatandtalkedwithmeandenquiredaboutme.Aftersomedaysshedidnotcomenearmebutshewasnotseen.Iwenttoherroomandaskedwhyshedidnotseeme.Shetoldthatsomeotheremployeespreventedhernottotalkwithme.ButwhatcanI do?EvenafterIreturnedtoMaduraiafterthetrainingI  senta lettertoherbutshedidnotreplysoI wasunabletohaveanyrelationwithher.Shewasgoodlookingnormalweightandyellow-coloredgirlTamilgirl.IwrotetheMathematicsoffinanceexaminationinMay1992atLICsouthzoneofficebutIdidnotgetapassinthe InstituteofActuariesexamination.ThenI  discontinuedmymembershipfromtheyear1993...
