Organic gardening strike many as a complex term that is difficult to understand. But what it really means is gardening that does not use synthetic / artificial fertilizers or pesticides for growing plants.
An organic gardener causes least / no disruptions to the nature around. When they think of gardening, they perceive it as a part of a whole system and view it in the bigger scheme of things, keeping in mind to not disturb the ecological balance of the things around like the soil, water supply, wildlife, insects and people. There is an effort to give back or continuously replenish what is being used from Mother Nature.
It starts with the treatment of the soil – by regularly adding organic waste into the soil. Such waste is easily found in your day to day life in your kitchen, lawn and garden. Vegetable scrap from the kitchen, fall leaves, grass clippings, all act as effective raw material for natural compost which is an ideal organic input for your soil. This is a first and very important step to raising your own organic garden which is healthy, beautiful and completely natural.
The other important part is to choose and grow those plants that suit the natural conditions like the location, type of soil, climate and weather, etc. If you grow plants that are naturally adapted to grow in these conditions, they will better adapt and grow healthily, compared to if you try and grow a plant not suited for the conditions, then you may have to keep trying to boost its immunity and health to ensure that it survives and is productive
