We are divine products and God's ultimate desire for us is to see us mount our thrones in order for us to reign as Kings and Priests on the earth. However, many potential Kingdom giants and world changers have chosen to hide themselves in this 'crowded' world. The crowd is a comfort zone that is relished by people who have chosen to remain docile and at ease with the status quo. The crowd belongs to those who have by their actions and omissions, expressed their choice to remain voiceless and unnoticed in a world that has been eagerly waiting for the manifestation of the sons and daughters of God. In the crowd, you will have no opinion of your own, but will be forced to flow with what is contemporary and trendy.
This book, is therefore a wake-up call for you to come out of obscurity and from every situation that makes you lose your identity and self-worth in order to step into limelight. It challenges you to come out of your comfort zone and to stand out as a show-piece and a reference point in your field and vocation so that your uniqueness can be a touchstone for the world to appreciate the value and solution you are bringing on the table to the glory of God. The book posits that the top is where you belong and you must position yourself to move away from the crowd in order for you to come on stage. It concludes that now is your set time to manifest excellence and uniqueness in all that you do by carving a niche for yourself today if you don't want to be left behind tomorrow!

INTRODUC TION
Positioning Yourself in the Crowd
Christians are a called-out people. By their nature they are supposed to stand out for the world to see. Jesus described a Christian as the light of the world and a city that is set on a hill that cannot be hidden. However, many Christians lack this understanding and have gone into hiding thereby making it impossible for the world to take notice of them and the good works that God has been doing and continues to do in their lives as well as through them. The world that has been eagerly waiting for the manifestation of the Sons of God needs to see these signs in order to believe the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We are divine products and God’s ultimate desire for us is to see us mount our thrones in order to reign as Kings and Priests on the earth. However, to be able to do this we need to position ourselves adequately and to refrain from operating in obscurity. As divine products, we must embrace product positioning. Product positioning is the creation of a clear image in the minds of consumers within the targeted segment about the nature of the product and the benefits to be gained from purchasing the product. Positioning is the compliment of segmentation.
Product Positioning therefore draws largely from the brand’s objective (functional) attributes in relation to other brands. Product positioning also involves creating a unique, consistent, and recognizable customer perception about a firm’s offering and image. A product or service may be positioned on the basis of an attitude or benefit, use or application, user, class, price or level of quality.
Product positioning seeks to target a product for specific market segments and product needs at specific prices. Once the market has been segmented and attractive segments have been identified, the next task is to work within a targeted segment to position the product in the minds of the consumers and develop a marketing mix that will satisfy the consumer. Positioning is something that is comparable to perception and happens in the minds of the target market. It is the aggregate perception that the market has of a particular company, product or service in relation to their perceptions of the competitors in the same category. It happens whether or not a company’s management is proactive, reactive or passive about the on-going process of evolving a position. But a company can positively influence the perceptions through enlightened stratifications.
The questions therefore are, what is the implication of the above mix for us as Christians? How can we strategically position ourselves for the world to see our distinctive characteristics as world changers whose relevance can be appreciated? Does it mean that everyone that professes to be a Christian should be accepted hook line and sinker without some further probing to unearth his or her underlying claims?
The world is passing through a very challenging phase and Christians have a key role in providing the pathway to address the numerous challenges facing our world presently. However, not all that profess to be Christians are truly Christians. There should be some ways to differentiate those who claim to be Christians from those who are actually practising Christians. There should be some peculiar and time-tested Kingdom principles that will be the basis to assess compliance to Kingdom ideals for one to approximate what Christ came and died for.
Thank God, the Bible did not leave us in doubt as to how to separate the “sheep” from the “goat”. This means that for us to be adequately appreciated and valued on the earth, we must bring something unique on the table that will make it clear for the world to know that we are a different set of brands. In other words, there are clear indicators that will make it easy for all to know indeed that even though we are in the world, by our uniqueness, it will be clear to all that we are not of the world and therefore we come with impeccable capacity to re-brand the world and rid it of its present decadence.
All through the Bible, all the people who mattered and did great exploits in the Kingdom for God were people who discovered their uniqueness and accepted the challenge to step out of their comfort zone. From Abraham in Gen 12:1-3, to Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Caleb, David, Nehemiah, Esther, Daniel, the 3 Hebrew Boys, Jesus, Peter, and the other Apostles to Paul, these were people who were determined to step out in line with God’s mandate for their lives.
The Heroes and heroines of faith as chronicled in Hebrews 11 were all people who were determined to step out of their comfort zone and today the world bears them witness that they did great exploits for God. God ordinarily cannot accomplish much with people who cannot dare to be different as well as to devise strategies that they can creatively use to overcome their challenges.
Usually operating in a known environment comes with the usual ease and comfort associated with routine practices where ingenuity is subjugated or relegated to the background. However, breaking new barriers which is an indication of stepping out of your comfort zone would require a whole lot of courage, creativity, wisdom, doggedness, perseverance and everything that will challenge the status quo thus bringing out your hidden potentials.
Stepping out of the comfort zone could range from making a career decision, marrying outside your tribe or country, resigning from a fairly good job to delve into the murky waters of business, and getting involved in politics to shape policies that will impact lives etcetera. Whatever it is, it never leaves you the same way!
Jesus had to step out of His comfort zone when He left His abode in heaven to take the form of a Servant in order to redeem mankind from sin and its consequences. Today, He is seated at the Right Hand of God with all powers and authorities both in Heaven and on earth bestowed on Him, and on the mention of whose name everyone knee bows.
Life is therefore a product of choices. A choice for an ordinary and mediocre life which entails remaining at one’s comfort zone, means remaining on the same spot like the man at the pool of Bethesda (John 5:1-5), but if you choose to be a man or woman of impact that God has made you to be, you cannot achieve that by remaining at your comfort zone. Time has therefore come for you to come out of hiding and step out of your comfort zone in order to conquer your world in every facet of your life to God’s glory.
In life, except we are willing and able to embrace a life that mandates us to come out of the crowd, we may not be adequately positioned to take delivery of what God has packaged for us. It takes courage for you to step out of your comfort zone and to position yourself in the crowd.
This book therefore is a wake-up call for you to come out of every situation that spells compromise in order to be what God has ordained for you to be.

Chapter One
THE CROWDED SPACE
The crowd is not a place to be. It can be choky and uncomfortable. If you find yourself in the crowd and you are comfortable to remain there, with time you will undoubtedly lose your identity. The crowd belongs to those who have chosen to remain voiceless and unnoticed in a world that has been eagerly waiting for the manifestation of the Sons and Daughters of God. In the crowd, you will flow with the trend but lose your sense of worth. The crowd is a comfort zone that is relished by people who have chosen to remain docile and at ease with the status quo. You will have no opinion of your own if you comfortably locate yourself and make your abode with those who dwell in the cities inhabited by the crowd.
However, once you choose to leave the crowd, you have purchased for yourself a garment that may be scorned and vilified by those who are comfortable to dwell in the crowded regions of life. Your choice to depart from the crowd and be separate, will be misconstrued and may earn you demeaning names and scores of enemies. You will be branded as proud and ambitious. However, leaving the crowd is not just a worthwhile option but the way to go if you ever hope to amount to anything in life.
In Numbers the thirteenth chapter, Moses sent out twelve spies to search out the land of Canaan. Ten out of the twelve spies that were sent to spy the land of Canaan, returned with their majority opinion. The crowd accepted their views and analyses as being consistent with the situation on ground. They vilified Joshua and Caleb who took a contrary position, as lacking in common sense and understanding of the prevailing issues of the time. Their minority opinions were drowned by the majority opinion of 10 spies against 2. However, God sided with the minority opinions of Joshua and Caleb and demonstrated His displeasure over the majority opinion of the rest of the ten spies.
So it can be seen from the above narrative, that all through the scriptures, the majority opinions hardly reflected the opinion of God. God never achieved anything meaningful with those who held majority or popular opinions.
In Judges Chapter 7:1-7, when God wanted to rescue Israel from the Midianites, He told Gideon to tell those who were fearful to go back, and a whooping twenty two thousand out of Thirty Two thousand men that initially came out to fight, went back due to fear. Yet God still went further to reduce the number and achieved His purpose with only Three hundred men who understood the need to stand out and to flow with God.
Accordingly, God does not believe in the democratic principle of “majority carrying the vote”. In essence, when it comes to accomplishing certain feats in the Kingdom, God is not a Democrat. He wants people who can make the sacrifice of standing out to be counted when the chips are down. God wants those who are on His side to be men and women who are fearless and can stand their ground irrespective of popular hostile opinions. This explains why God commands us to come out from amongst them and be separate (2 Corinthians 6:17-18). Accordingly, any time God wants to accomplish great things in the midst of His people, He calls for separation from the Comfort Zone.
In your comfort zone, you are at peace and contented, and naturally have no urge for change or to do anything that is not a product of the status quo. In your comfort zone, there is no strong feeling for sustained internal push. There is no urge to soar. There is greater tendency to be stuck in the mud of inertia. In the comfort zone, apathy is celebrated and the urge for change in life and destiny is considered an outgrowth of pride and an ungodly ambition. In the comfort zone, you find it difficult to embark on any new venture or project especially if such ventures and projects don’t enjoy the tacit approval of the obstreperous majority. The comfort zone is inhabited by vociferous crowds and you are never lonely there.
Your comfort zone is a place where laziness and inertia are like the Siamese twins; they try very hard to maintain their close bonding. However, those who dwell in the comfort zone of life are unaware that life transforming opportunities don’t reside within such neighbourhoods. In the comfort zone, poverty, lack and want close in on the inhabitants and entrap them so as to make them remain on the same spot.
The comfort zone is not just a physical location as some may want to think, but also a behavioural state where a person desires to operate in an atmosphere that is free from every form of pressure and anxiety. In this condition, maintaining the status quo with minimized risk is the prevalent behaviour.
A person's personality can be described by his or her comfort zones. However, highly successful persons are those who must have of necessity stepped out of their comfort zones, to accomplish what they wished. Those who operate in their comfort zones have created mental boundaries that have given them a false sense of security. This implies that a person who has established a comfort zone in a particular axis of his or her life, will tend to stay within that zone without stepping outside of it. To step outside a comfort zone, a person must experiment with new and different behaviours, and then experience the new and different responses that then occur within their environment.
Your comfort zone could be made up of people, places, things, and habits that are familiar to you. Many of us get scared when we even think about moving outside of our comfort zones. We cling tenaciously to the known, and choose familiarity over risk. The problem with choosing to stay in your comfort zones is that it can come with a terrible price tag—stagnation and one with eternal consequences. This was the condition the man that stayed for 38 years at the Pool of Bethesda found himself before Jesus met him (John 5:1-9).
Discovering and utilizing your potentials to the fullest is an adventure that entails risk. Responding to God’s call to fulfil your mission in life will undoubtedly require you to journey beyond the boundaries of your comfort zone. Jesus never seemed to hesitate in telling people to leave their familiar lives for the unfamiliar path of following him.
Each time we blockade ourselves further within our comfort zone, it becomes more difficult to hear God’s callings in our lives. Living out the full capacity of your calling is possible only when you are willing to be obedient to God’s voice and risk stepping out to His leading. Living the adventure of your calling requires courage, resourcefulness, and willingness to confront new and unfamiliar terrains and challenges.
There would naturally be no need for anxiety, fear, apprehensions or tensions when one is operating in a familiar terrain. However, the anxiety begins to mount when one is asked to delve into an unknown terrain. God had to challenge the Israelites to move up to their next levels after encompassing the mountain for a long time (Deut 2:24).
The time has therefore come for you to exit your comfort zone, leave the crowded places of this earth and take on a flight to where your destiny would unfold unto glory. The top is where you belong and you must position yourself to move away from the crowd and come on stage. Now is your set time to manifest if you don’t want tomorrow to leave you behind!
Chapter Two
WORK YOUR WAY OUT OF THE CROWD
“He becometh poor that dealeth with slack hand; but the hand of the diligent maketh rich” - Proverbs 10:4
God sells us all things at the price of labour ~Leonardo da Vinci
Almost every Christian is aware or has been told that whoever must not work must not eat. This is the position of the Bible and it is a universally accepted maxim. Apostle Paul admonished the church thus:
“Even while we were with you, we gave you this rule: "Whoever does not work should not eat." Yet we hear that some of you are living idle lives, refusing to work and wasting time meddling in other people's business. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we appeal to such people-no, we command them: Settle down and get to work. Earn your own living.’’ 2 Thess. 3: 10- 12 (NLT).
We know that work adds to the value of man and indeed after God created man He planted a garden in Eden and told him to take care of it. One of the ways to become rich therefore is through work.
Just like some men become rich, some others also become poor. However you are the one to choose what you become, because it is your attitude that determines your altitude in this respect. The Bible says: “He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich” (Prov. 10: 4). The implication of this is that wealth is made through hard and intelligent work while the lazy and foolish man ends in abject poverty and beggarliness.
Like we have been told several times in church and other organised Christian gatherings and platforms, giving procures God’s blessings, but working or labour opens up the channel for the blessings to flow into our lives. It therefore follows that giving without working is like pouring water into a basket! Who does not know that a basket, being full of holes can never hold water? Consider what Proverbs 18:16 says:
“A man’s gift maketh room for him and bringeth him before great men.’’ And in Proverbs 22:29 it is put in another way: ‘’Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings and not before mean men.’’ Proverbs 18:16.
For example Abraham encountered the blessing of God by being generous, but he could only take delivery of the blessings by working. He was an owner of herds of cattle (Gen. 13: 2, 6). Regardless, that you’re a faithful church-going Christian who believes all the prosperity scriptures and confessions, God has nothing to bless, except what you have laid your hands upon to do. You must be working! The Psalmist (1:3) says “And whatever he doeth shall prosper…” this implies that for prosperity to come to any child of God he or she must be doing something productive!
Covenant blessings don’t just drop on people from heaven; they come via what people do with their hands. There’s no other magic wand anywhere else. A man that refuses to work attracts scorn, mockery, and poverty to himself and his family. He will amount to nothing and therefore will ultimately become a source of shame and reproach to those around him. He will find it extremely difficult to maintain his family except through begging and being a burden to others. He is also sure to lose colour and dignity in the society. So beloved, there is dignity in labour. The Bible says: “Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and become a slave” (Prov. 12: 24 NLT).
When you are consumed by your work, you open the door of fortunes and limitless success. When you see a person who is passionate about what he or she is doing, it definitely shows.
Chapter Three
HAVE A SUPERIOR MINDSET
One striking fact of life is that you are not inferior to anyone neither is your profession. If you can think well, there is really no work that is superior to the other. It is important for us to know that just like you have a complete human being with different members of the body- the eyes, ears, nose, legs, hands and each is performing specific functions in the body, in the same vein, all professions and endeavours of man are intended by God to complement one another and not to compete with one another (See 1 Cor. 12: 15-26).
When we are profitably engaged in our chosen professions, we prosper thereby. The problem however has always been that people have become ‘’blackened in their imaginations and comparisons’’ because they have abandoned their own work and they have unwittingly gone about helping others to get theirs accomplished (Songs of Solomon 1: 6). Many have endured all kinds of mockeries, negative comments and attitudes that had ended up spurring them into greater action to do more valiantly to prove the mockers wrong. This has made the mockers to lose colour and dignity.
In our contemporary times, some people, including the elects of God have come to associate white collar jobs or office jobs with dignity whereas those that are not so educated or privileged to work in the offices feel odd and inferior. This ought not to be. The truth is that there is nothing you are doing now with dedication that you will not excel in. What the Bible says is, “The gift of a man makes room for him and brings him before great men” - Prov. 18: 16. The Bible did not exalt one profession or race above another. The bottom line is being dedicated to what you do. When you are diligent and dedicated to what you do, you will stand before Kings and great men and women of your time (Proverbs 22:29).
CHANGING THE BRAND IDENTITY OF YOUR PROFESSION
There was a time especially in the nineteenth and twentieth century that when a person was introduced as a Pastor or Minister of the gospel, many people looked at such a person with utter disdain and felt sorry for him. The belief then was that such a person was a failure and an unfortunate person. The thinking of society was that such a person must have ended up as a so-called Pastor because he could not face the competitiveness of the open market or he was not just good enough to make it elsewhere. Pastors were therefore looked down on as drop-outs and failures.
In the early 1970s and 80s it was not fashionable to be called a Pastor especially in Africa. As a matter of fact, those who saw visions of being called by God were quickly disowned by their families and considered as worthless, unfocused and vision-less. But today, the tide has turned. Many now scramble to be called by God. Even where God has not called them, they consider God too slow and rather called themselves!
In fact it is interesting to note that today, it is in the Gospel Preaching “Industry” that is, one being called into Ministry, that we have the greatest number of professionals who are doing exploits for God. The amazing thing is that these men and women don’t even have degrees in Theology and yet they are making waves and impacting their generations, whereas we have lots of the so-called professionals roaming the streets in search of white collar jobs.
There was also a time, (I think it is still happening) that if you were not studying courses like Medicine, Engineering, Law, Accounting, etcetera, you were considered as wasting your time in the university. But the time has changed and people have now learned that you don’t need to read a professional course in the university to make it in life any more.
In time past, when a child showed unrestrained interest in sports, he or she was thought of to be a good-for-nothing sort, but when sports (especially football) suddenly became a money spinning vocation, it was classified as a profession, and the perception about it changed. People now eagerly adorn all manner of jerseys branded with the names of popular soccer stars and move about proudly in them. What is more, many people started affiliating themselves with different football clubs and really feel a sense of pride to be associated with one club or the other. But in the beginning it was not so! Why? It is because the season changed. So you see, the profession you are engaged in now and which you may be despising might have been ordained by God as a future money spinner. Remember that He knows that you have what it takes to change the negative perception or narrative about that profession of yours!
Look at Joseph in Portiphar’s house. He was more or less just a glorified slave. He was the all-purpose man in the house of his master, but one day he ended up on the most exalted seat of Egypt. Why? He was faithful at that time such that when he eventually found himself in the prison, the prison Supervisor noticed his service attitude and made him head of the prison services where his ability of home management and interpretation of dreams were put to use. Now I ask you, if he had no one to supervise, with whom he could interact closely, how would his gift be noticed and then put to use? This tells you that it is when you have something productive doing that you can put your gifts and talents to use, not when you are grumbling and complaining as a result of the environment which is not conducive. Those that embraced the game of football or soccer, even though the sport was not highly monetised then, especially in the 1970s and 80s, if they had not continued playing and inspiring the younger generation, how would those making millions from it today make it? Their diligence ensured that the profession remained and that it did not die until the time its new season came.
The Bible says:
“If a tree is cut down, there is hope that it will sprout again and grow new branches. Though its roots have grown old in the earth and its stump decays, at the scent of water it may bud and sprout again like a new seedling” (Job 14: 7-9 NLT).
This is the principle of seasons and harvests and it does not change.
I have also discovered that what most people cannot do in their home countries, in terms of jobs, they do in other countries, just because they must survive. This tells us that this thing called dignity of labour is only in the mind, and that you have to weave dignity around your labour by injecting diligence into it. This is essentially by being creative in what you are doing. Use your mind creatively and people will be out to pay any price you name. It takes the person that is engaged in a profession or vocation to personally add value to it by injecting creativity and innovativeness into it and not to allow people to despise it or look down on it. Your attitude to what you are doing determines how people will perceive it.
Chapter Four
Dignify Your LIFE AND WHAT YOU DO
Severally, we have been inundated with the saying that there is dignity in labour. When we are told that there is dignity in labour, this should not be understood to mean labour in terms of toiling and struggling and sweating endlessly just to make ends meet. That according to the Word of God would be a curse:
“And to Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate the fruit I told you not to eat, I have placed a curse on the ground. All your life you will struggle to scratch a living from it.18. It will grow thorns and thistles for you, though you will eat of its grains. 19. All your life you will sweat to produce food, until your dying day. Then you will return to the ground from which you came. For you were made from dust, and to the dust you will return”- Gen. 3: 17-19 (NLT).
The above curses came out of the mouth of the Almighty God unto man (Adam) after his disobedience in the Garden, which resulted in the fall. Today, to the glory of God, man has been redeemed by the blood of Jesus and we are no more victims of the fall. As long as you have accepted the fact of being a sinner and have embraced repentance through the confession of your sins and making Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, salvation has come to you. This implies that God has forgiven you and the salvation of your soul has been assured as long as you don’t go back to your sins or do things that will offend God again. Accordingly, you live by faith and in obedience to God’s word and you will definitely have no part or portion in the curse of the fall of the first Adam.
