Green—2 1-oz. Balls; Natural—3 1-oz. Balls
BACK: With No. 2 Needles cast on 99 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, in striped pattern as follows: * 3 rows Green, 5 rows Natural; 3 rows Green, 3 rows Natural, 3 rows Green, 8 rows Natural, 10 rows Green, 2½ in. Natural; repeat from * twice, ending last repeat with 10 rows Green. When ribbing measures 3 in. from lower edge, P 1 row increasing to 126 sts. Change to No. 3 Needles and work in stockinette st in striped pattern until piece measures 10½ in. from lower edge. Increase 1 st at each end every other row 5 times. Work even until the third striped group has been completed, then work in natural only until piece measures 4 in. from last increase at underarm. Work over 68 sts; place on st-holder. Work even on remaining 68 sts until piece measures 7 in. from last increase at underarm. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 14 sts once, then 9 sts every other row 4 times. Bind off remaining sts for back of neck. Work other side to correspond.
FRONT: Work as given for back until piece measures 5½ in. from last increase at underarm. Work over 55 sts; place on st- holder. Bind off next 26 sts for front of neck. On remaining 55 sts, work 2 rows even, then decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row 5 times. Work even until piece measures 7 in. from last increase at underarm. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 14 sts once, then 9 sts every other row 4 times. Work other side to correspond.
Sew shoulder and underarm seams. With No. 2 Steel crochet hook work 1 row of s c around armhole edge. Fasten off.
NECKBAND: With No. 2 Needles pick up 113 sts around entire neck edge. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 8 rows. Change to No. 3 Needles and continue ribbing until collar measures 3 in. Bind off loosely.
Work 1 row of s c around back opening working loops for buttonholes on right side.
