"STAR" BLEND YARN, Article 75

15 skeins White.

14 skeins Dk. Green.

 

Each square measures 7 ½ inches x 7 ½ inches.

 

Steel crochet hook No. 0.

 

With White ch 50, d c in 8th st from hook, * ch 2, skip 2 sts of ch, d c in next st, repeat from * across ch, ch 5, turn (15 meshes).

 

2nd Row. D c in next d c, * ch 2, d c in next d c, repeat from * across row, ending row with ch 2, d c in 3rd st of end ch, ch 5, turn. Repeat the last row 13 times, cut yarn.

 

Attach Green in upper right hand corner mesh of outer row of meshes, ch 3, 5 d c in same mesh, * working downward, 3 d c over next post, working across, work 3 d c over top of next mesh of previous row, working upward, 3 d c over next post, working across, work 3 d c over top of next mesh, repeat from * to 2nd mesh before corner, working downward, 3 d c over next post, working across, 3 d c over top of next mesh, working upward, 3 d c over next post, work 6 d c in corner mesh, repeat from 1st * all around ending round to correspond, join in 3rd st of ch, cut yarn.

 

Next Round. Attach Green in post on left hand side of corner mesh of next free round, ch 3, working upward, 2 d c over post, * working across, 3 d c over next free post of same round, working downward, 3 d c over next post, working across, 3 d c over next post, working upward, 3 d c over next post, repeat from * to mesh before corner mesh, working across, 3 d c over next free post, working downward, 3 d c over next post of corner mesh, working upward, 3 d c over next post of same mesh, repeat from 1st * all around ending round to correspond, join in 3rd st of ch, cut yarn.

 

Next Round. Attach White in post on right hand side of any corner mesh of next free row, ch 3, working upward, 2 d c over post, ** working across, 3 d c over next free post of same mesh, * working downward, 3 d c over next post, working across, 3 d c over next free post, working upward, 3 d c over next post, working across, 3 d c over next free post, repeat from * to corner mesh, repeat from ** all around ending round to correspond, join in 3rd st of ch, cut yarn. Repeat the last 2 rounds working in same manner until all meshes are worked, working 1 more row White, 2 rows Green, 1 row White. Work 14 more squares in same manner. Sew squares together as illustrated.
