The battle for peace is a silent one, and many people have lost their peace due to not being perfect. In today's world, we often fail to talk about our silent battles, which can lead to depression and other issues. The author's life was shaped by his best friend Anthony's suicide, which led him to redefine his mission and create RehabTime, a nonprofit organization that has inspired people to recognize their greatness and become the best version of themselves.

The author believes that God has allowed him to have certain experiences in his life to assist others on the path toward peace. He has learned to identify common themes in people who are losing their peace and helps them disconnect from what may be stealing their peace.

The key ingredient for unlocking ultimate satisfaction and true happiness is the five-letter word P-E-A-C-E, which is the key to unlocking inner wealth. Peace does not depend on everything going on around you; it depends on what is going on inside you. By declaring war against anything and everything that is taking away from your peace, readers can unlock ultimate satisfaction and true happiness.

Peace is defined as freedom from disturbance and tranquility, and a state in which there is no war or a war has ended. In today's world, there is a constant battle for our peace, both internal and external. To help individuals understand their worth and the battle lines, the author offers a personal prescription called the Protect Your Peace Process. This process involves nine principles, divided into three sections: Protect Your Energy, Protect Your Mind, and Protect Your Soul.

The first section discusses the power of boundaries, the importance of disconnecting from negative distractions, and knowing one's own worth. The second section teaches how to trust one's vision, guard focus, and shift perspective. The final section, Protect Your Soul, discusses how to create happiness, align internally, and live in fulfillment.

A critical message from the author is that in 2015, life was bittersweet for him. His career was taking off, and he embarked on a 32-city tour. However, he burned out and had very little peace. He felt like he was in prison within his purpose, but he had yet to understand boundaries and other principles of peace.

PRINCIPLE 1

SET BOUNDARIES

 

Protecting your energy is crucial for personal well-being and sending a powerful message of self-worth. By setting firm boundaries, recognizing the importance of disconnecting when needed, and understanding one's own worth, you can establish a protective circle around yourself. The world comes at us fast, with demands and requests pouring in from various sources, including work, communities, friends, families, and strangers. The more you let these demands in, the more you give yourself away, leading to burnout and feeling stuck.

 

To set boundaries, it is essential to grow emotional intelligence and learn how to stand firm on them. Many people struggle with setting boundaries due to worry and guilt, which are first cousins. Our ideas about self-worth often come from how others see us than from how we see ourselves. If we are programmed this way, we may feel we have to choose what others want over what we want to avoid the painful guilty feeling.

 

By flipping the script on these negative feelings, you can create a boundary that is not just about pleasing others but also about you. When you feel worry or guilt, it means that you care and are connected to the people around you. However, you should also prioritize yourself and pour love into yourself first. This will help you maintain a sense of self-worth and connection, preventing you from giving up on yourself and others.

 

In summary, protecting your energy is essential for personal well-being and fostering a strong connection with yourself. By understanding your worth and setting boundaries, you can create a more fulfilling life.

Some core values are grounded in and expressed in our relationships with God, ourselves, and family. To maintain this balance, the author starts engaging with the outside world at 12 P.M. sharp, Central Time, and only allows the special people in their life access to them.

 

The author acknowledges that disconnecting from distractions during the first part of the day is essential for being the best Trent for themselves, their family, and their community. They believe that disconnecting from the world allows them to reconnect with their soul and peace, rather than focusing on the things they want to tell them.

After being cut from the 2008 NFL season, the author felt broken and uncertain about their future.
