With more than two decades of experience in business and investment, Patel has overseen over 7,000 company setups across multiple sectors, including technology, retail, healthcare, and professional services. His career spans early ventures in the United Kingdom, large-scale property investments, and the creation of the Decisive Group, a holding company managing diversified interests across the Middle East and beyond.
Alongside his business career, Patel is known for his advocacy of women entrepreneurs, philanthropic initiatives, and community empowerment projects. This is my personal account of how I started everything from the ground up. You see, from my earliest endeavors in the United Kingdom to leading a global group of companies in Dubai, those were born out of my life's wins and losses, whether minuscule or gargantuan.

My intention is to keep track of all the lessons I learned and the principles I continue to follow, so hopefully, they give you practical and, most of all, doable insights you can adapt as you traverse this thing called life. This story covers milestones, but it also highlights the values garnered and relationships nurtured that guided me through the volatility of the business sector and, well, of daily existence in general.

Yes, I have been blessed to form companies, form partnerships, and invest across borders. Yet, I beam with so much pride because amidst the success and accolades, I was able to keep my focus on my family and on making a positive contribution to communities.

The people I have worked with and the experiences we have shared form the real foundation of my success. Each chapter represents a moment in time, so to speak, so learn from them as you may. Let's begin...

One Thing Led to

the Other

I studied Economics and Law at the University of Leicester from 2000 to 2004, and during that period, I started a weekend clothing business, sourcing stock in bulk and selling it in high-traffic market areas. The venture grew to twelve stalls, each managed directly by me. Day in and day out, I was completely bullish about ensuring that every piece was of quality. I knew my name was at stake, so early on, I pulled all the stops to deliver nothing but the best. Furthermore, those years taught me discipline, quick decision-making, and the importance of understanding customers in real time.
