History:
In the centre of the Area of Ørestad in the District of Amager Vest on Amager you will find the post-modernistic and neo-futuristic building complex of offices, shops, restaurants and a hotel Copenhagen Towers.
The building complex is one of the landmarks of the developing city area.
The main entrance of the building complex, the high-rise building and the building on the north side is Center Court Atrium, North Tower and North Wing. All three were built by Copenhagen Towers II P/S ved Solstra Capital Partners in 2015 with Foster + Partners as the architects.
As the supervisor of the construction Lendager Arkitekter ApS was responsible for the task.
Center Court Atrium houses the building's reception, a restaurant and the entrance to the underground car park. Inside it looks like a small forest in a large greenhouse where the trees are lit up with coloured lights.
With its curved shape North Tower is the most beautiful and only sculptural high-rise building and landmark in Ørestad. It houses offices, restaurant rooms and a café.
The box-shaped North Wing, one of the most anonymous buildings by Foster + Partners, houses offices and the building complex's service and meeting centre and staff’s restaurant.
The hallmark of Foster + Partners' buildings is mostly glass facades or glass roofs. Thus they use the daylight outside as long as it is bright. The studio’s most famous building in Denmark is the Elephant House in Copenhagen Zoo in Frederiksberg.
