What is Sirtfood Diet

Sirtfood is a group of special foods that activate specific proteins in the body, which are called sirtuins. These sirtuins help to protect the cells in the body when stressed, from dying, and help in regulating the metabolism, inflammation and aging process of the body system.

The sirtuins play a vital role in the body's fat burning process and metabolism boosting; these in turn leads to a loss of seven pounds of weight within the first week of following the diet while also toning the body's muscles.

These and many other reasons are why the Sirtfood diet has remain a hot topic since its launch in 2016.

How does the Sirtfood work?

The key to effective weight loss is creating a calorie deficit in the body, and this can be achieved by either increasing the rate at which your calorie is used up, which is usually achieved through rigorous workouts routine or by reducing your overall calorie intake.

The Sirtfood diet helps to achieve this effective and drastic weight loss simply by activating the sirtuins in the body, without the need of a rigorous workout routine.

Rich in sirtuins activating nutrients, the Sirtfood diet turns on the skinny gene in the body, when a shortage of energy is initiated after some calorie restriction.

During the 2015 pilot research, testing the effectiveness of the skinny gene conducted by Goggins and Matten, the 39 individuals that participated in the study lost an average of seven pounds in the first seven days of following the diet with a daily exercise.

Phases of The Sirtfood Diet

The Sirtfood diet has two main phases, and these phases last a total of three weeks and after this period, it is advisable that you continue to add sirtfood into your regular diet. By doing this, your weight loss is maintained and your muscles will remain toned.

In this cookbook, you will find a variety of recipes that you can feed on and enjoy during the phases of this diet. These recipes will help to activate your skinny gene, lose weight and live healthy.

The three main ingredients required for these two phases are;

The First Phase

The first phase of the Sirtfood diet lasts for seven days, and is further divided into two. The entire phase revolves around a reduction in calorie intake and lots of green juice intake. This week long phase is intended to help start your weight loss journey wherein you can lose up to 7 pounds within this period.

During the first three days of the week, your calorie consumption will be reduced to just 1000. You are expected to eat just one meal rich in sirtfood every day and drink 3 cups of green juices per day.

For the meal, you can pick from any of the sirtfood recipes in this book to prepare. The green juices will include lemon, rocket, kale, parsley, celery and green tea while for the meals, you can enjoy chicken, buckwheat noodles, kale curry, turkey escalope and many other varieties.

During the concluding four days of the first phase, the calorie intake is increased to 1,500 with two rich green juices and two sirtfood meals daily, which you can choose from this cookbook.

The Second Phase

The second phase of the Sirtfood diet lasts for 2 weeks which is also known as the maintenance phase, it’s during this phase that steady weight loss occurs. There is actually no specific calorie limit to be consumed during this phase rather its encouraged to eat three sirtfood meals per day that you can choose from the wealth of recipes available in this cookbook with just one green juice.

This is a realistic and sustainable way to lose weight, the recipes on the sirtfood diet are not just targeted at weight loss only, but also contain healthy food that will lead to the overall longevity of life and an optimal living.

After the two Phases

After concluding the two phases of the diet, you can repeat the diet all over again as desired for further weight loss, if not, it is best you continue to add sirtfoods into your diet on a regular basis with at least a cup of green juice every day.

By doing this, the Sirtfood diet becomes more of a way of life than a one-time diet.
