Let’s begin with a personal case study as that is always a great way to start and help those who are beginning. This case study should help showcase the reality of the job market and what can happen for those who put their mind to it and do a good job moving forward.

I was a nurse before I had my child and it was a wonderful career choice. I loved being in the hospital even though most despise the atmosphere. It was something I was good at and that is what mattered the most to me. I was able to make other people better and that was always a great feeling. However, I knew that it was time to hang up the boots because of my child. I wanted to give her more attention at home and that was not going to happen if I was working as a nurse.

Yet, there was this hunger inside of me to continue to work in the field and do my part without actually going to the hospital. It was not easy to find the right solution and I thought the search was hopeless until I heard about a new spot that was opening up.

It was a position for a new “medical transcriptionist”. It was an intriguing option and one that I was more than willing to do, but was I good enough? This was tough as I had never been a great writer or someone that was flawless with her vocabulary. I’d say I am still below par!
