This is not a book. It is a course, a system, a practical path to transformation.
Life-work balance, as it is presented, is a lie. You have been told that to be happy you need to find the right balance between work, relationships and personal growth. But have you ever seen anyone achieve extraordinary results by doing everything halfway?
True balance is not found by dividing your time perfectly, but by learning to direct your focus deeply on what really matters. Vertical Mind is the method for developing a more focused, aware and intentional mind. It teaches you to eliminate distractions, defend your time, align yourself with your true values, build relationships that elevate you and transform emotions into allies.
It's not theory, it's application. Page after page, exercise after exercise, you will build your new mental framework. If you are tired of feeling stuck, overwhelmed by external demands and without a clear direction, now is the time to change. The world is full of people who read and do nothing. The difference between those who yearn and those who achieve is always the same: action.

Excellence is not an act, but a habit Aristotle
To get the most out of the Vertical Mind course, it is essential to approach it with discipline and consistency. This course is not just a manual to be read and put aside, but a tool for personal transformation that requires real commitment. Without putting the proposed exercises into practice, it is not possible to achieve real and lasting results. Change happens through action, not through theoretical understanding alone.
In the course of my career, first as a journalist and then also as a national yoga, fitness and mental coach, I have had the good fortune and great responsibility to work with many people at the top of their field, in Italy and abroad. Over the years I have dealt with people at the pinnacle of achievement in the worlds of sport, music and art, business and science.
If I had to list what all these people have in common, I would have no hesitation in pointing to their unwavering focus and determination, along with the perseverance to do the right things for the right amount of time. They have been able to direct their minds towards the state and results they want to achieve.
In reality, what enables people to achieve excellence in itself is nothing extraordinary or beyond the reach of anyone. It is not about doing a single unique thing that is beyond the capabilities of ordinary people. What makes the difference is the focus and determination to do many small things right and directed in a positive direction for long enough.
You have always been told that the key to a satisfying life is balance. That you have to 'balance' your work and private life, distribute your energies harmoniously, without overdoing it in any one direction. Sounds like good advice, doesn't it? Too bad that in the way it is generally explained, it simply does not work.
Look at the most motivated and fulfilled people. Those who achieve extraordinary results in their careers, in their relationships, in their health. None of them try to distribute their time equally over everything. None of them sit in front of a sheet of paper doing calculations to divide the hours of the day into perfectly balanced sections.
What they do instead is something else: they have tools to get a very clear idea of where their life is going in the present moment and where they need to go vertically.
The truth is that trying to give equal weight to everything is the surest way to remain mediocre in every area of life. True balance is not an even distribution of energy, but the ability to dive deeply into the areas that really matter to you at any given time.
Think about it for a moment.
When you build a career, you don't balance it with free time. You dive in with determination. And when you reach a certain level, then you create space for more. When you want to improve your health, you don't just eat a little better. You follow a protocol, you train consistently, you commit. If you want a solid relationship, it's not enough to devote a little time. You have to be present, give quality, understand the person in front of you.
Life-work balance, as it is generally understood, does not work because it starts from the wrong assumption: that you can improve your life by doing everything moderately and listlessly. But the reality is that results are achieved by total immersion, not moderation.
And this is where Vertical Mind comes in.
You cannot be everywhere at once. But you can be strongly present in what matters. The method you will find in this course does not ask you to balance everything every day. It asks you to identify the areas of your life that have the greatest impact on your well-being and results and to go vertical with them.
For this reason, in order to get the most out of this course, it is essential to devote at least one hour a day for the next thirty days to the exercises you will find on the following pages, applying the principles and techniques suggested in real life. This daily hour must become an unmissable appointment, a sacred moment in which to focus all your energy on building new habits and a new balance.
Automatically, as you gain confidence by taking care of yourself and nurturing your inner strength, you will realise that other less functional behaviours will simply tend to reduce or disappear naturally.
The course should not be approached superficially or hastily. Each part contains powerful tools, but their effectiveness depends on how well they are internalised and applied to your daily life. For this reason, it is highly recommended to repeat the course at least three times. The first time you read and perform the exercises, you will start to become aware of the areas to work on. If you have difficulty with a test, continue and resume it later. At the second reading, you will reinforce new habits and mental patterns. At the third, you will make these changes an integral part of your way of life, consolidating an authentic and sustainable balance.
Another fundamental aspect is constant reflection. Don't just do the exercises mechanically, but take the time to analyse the results, difficulties and evolutions you notice along the way. Every little progress is a sign of growth and every difficulty is an opportunity to understand yourself better. Your commitment must be accompanied by an open and curious attitude, without judgement or unrealistic expectations. It is not about achieving perfection, but about developing greater awareness and learning to direct your energies more effectively.
This path is designed for those who really want to improve their lives, finding an authentic balance between work, relationships, well-being and personal growth. The proposed method is the result of years of study between coaching, psycho-social sciences and yogic philosophy, three areas that, integrated together, allow you to develop a more focused mind, a more harmonious body and a more satisfying life. Face it with determination, challenge yourself and be patient with yourself. Results will come, but not until you have the courage to move from intention to action.
True freedom comes when you stop fighting reality and start working with it Byron Katie
Before going into the merits of this course, it is necessary to look reality in the face. Not the one we would like, but the one that exists. Yourself versus the universe is never a good position to take. You might be OK with it at first (for a while), but eventually the universe will take over. External reality is by its very nature chaotic, complex and fractal. Science explains it through the concept of entropy, Eastern philosophy through the recognition of impermanence.
That is why it is important to seek order and fulfilment within yourself, not outside. You cannot control what happens outside anyway. Instead of fighting the universe, it is much better to make an ally of it. It is objective reality that confirms this.
Finding a work-life balance is one of the biggest challenges people face today. In Italy, this difficulty is particularly evident. According to the European Life-Work Balance Index, Italy ranks 27th out of 30 European countries, with problems related to the absence of a legal minimum wage and low levels of inclusiveness. As if that were not enough, a recent survey of 11,000 workers showed that almost 50 per cent of respondents struggle to balance work and personal life, with a significant increase in cases of burnout.
This situation is not just about simple statistics, but reflects broken lives, sacrificed goals and a lack of focus on what really matters. Vertical Mind was created as a response to this need: it is a practical path that will guide you towards achieving a real and sustainable balance, helping you to focus deeply on your priorities and to free yourself from everything that dissipates your energy.
How to do this?
Here is a truth that might bother you: you will not solve this problem by hoping that something will change.
Leaving your personal balance to chance is exactly why you are stuck in the current situation. If your approach so far has been to complain about the situation without taking concrete action, you have to accept one fact: nothing will change that way.
One does not develop a better balance simply by wishing for it. Let me be even more explicit. It is not enough to read books, do yoga, meditate, listen to podcasts or talk about it with friends. You need a system. It takes a plan. And it takes the commitment to apply it day in and day out.
