INTRODUCTION
The message I brought through this book is that of hope and aspiration that can pave the way to your freedom from every form of bondage you might have been in for years. You'll realise that you have control over your destiny if you can only look deep into yourself. But, all too often, you are either waiting for someone to come to your aid, or you believe that someone somewhere is impeding the fulfilment of your glorious destiny. Today, I want you to reorder your thought pattern and figure out who you are so you can recover everything the enemy has taken from you. According to David O. Oyedepo, “when you discover, you recover; what you don’t discover, covers your progress.”
I am most concerned about young people, particularly Nigerian youths. I always wish them great success because they represent our hopes for a bright future. I can't stand by and watch them become so disorganized and disoriented in life, and wallow in their ignorance as people without dreams and vision. I need to provide them with the necessary information and tools to help them excel in society. Every Nigerian must recognise that each of us has a role to play if we are to see the transformation and reformation that we have strongly desired of living in a better society. We must take action to both right the wrong and discover the portals where we can all make it better So, let the voyage begin!
CHAPTER 1
REMINISCENCE
My deepest thoughts and concerns, as I mentioned earlier, are always directed toward my fellow humans, particularly our young people and all patriotic Nigerians. An injury to one is said to be an injury to all. An injustice done to one is also an injustice done to all. When one finger touches the oil, it stains the others.
When I was a kid, I had childish reasoning and relationships. I was only ever concerned with my belly. When I needed something to fill my stomach, I would quickly turn to my parents, and the joy and strength to play returned as soon as I felt happy and satisfied. So I have realised that food is the fuel that one needs to get going or stay active in whatever one does. But one thing we must remember is that we eat to live and live to fulfill the divine purpose of our lives.
I ate the meals that were put in front of me without ever thinking about where they came from or how they were prepared. Was it hard or easy to get? I didn't bother to ask. Did other people get to enjoy the same meal? All these issues were out of my league because I was still a little child whose daily needs came from his parents. I had no idea where the food came from. But as I grew older, I got to realise how much effort many families go through to obtain food. This struggle to make ends meet, and the game of survival of the fittest did not exclude my family. So I began to feel something, though somewhat dimly and superficially, about the plights of other families. I started to wonder if we came from the same planet. I asked this question because I noticed that the majority of them lacked some necessities. Even the most basic things I thought shouldn't be a problem for anyone or my family turned out to be their most serious issues.
My Discovery at the childhood Stage
Following extensive observation and research, I discovered the following issues that many families in my neighbourhood experience:
Lack of food.
Parent’s inability to pay their children/wards' school fees.
Children wearing soiled and tattered school uniforms.
