The word “wisdom” where this platform derives its name could be described as the quality of having or being naturally endowed with experience, knowledge and good judgement. It is more of a spiritual word that has its root in the book of life, The Holy Bible.

The word of God is a gift for human path. Hence it must be assimilated in faith and prayer and put into practice to form a moral conscience. More than any time in human history, mankind faces a crossroads. One path leads to despair and utter hopelessness while the other leads to a successful sojourn and accomplishment. Wisdom takes a centre stage in our quest and desire to choose correctly and carefully in the course of running the race of life.

In the game of life, the law of harvest is to reap more than you sow, sow an act and you reap a habit, sow a habit and you reap a character, sow a character and you reap a destiny. Therefore, if you are sowing spiritual seeds for the right reasons, then you will reap the blessed results of that as well. The seeds you sow today will surely be reaped in the years to come.

There is no gain saying the fact that, the world is constantly generating new ideas and opinions. They come and they go but the truth of the Holy Book is always relevant. All lasting knowledge and sound wisdom ultimately originate with the Lord, the One Shepherd. The knowledge of His Holy Word should be the foundational rock upon which individuals must build their minds and lives. With a critical digest of the Holy Book, the Word of God would be clearly seen to be unique in the quality of its wisdom. It is seen that throughout its pages, we can find knowledge that is always true and ever relevant; hence its wisdom may be applied to every culture in every age.

Therefore, the gift of wisdom cannot be surpassed because it is through wisdom that all good things are possible. By wisdom come life, health, happiness, grace, honour, prosperity, power, strength, confidence and security and above all favour.

God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding beyond measure, and largeness of mind like the sand on the seashore, so that Solomon’s wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all people of the East and all the wisdom of Egypt. For he was wiser than all other men and his fame was in all the nations, He also uttered three thousand proverbs and his songs were a thousand and five. He spoke of trees from the Cedar that is in Lebanon to the Hyssop that grows out of the well. He spoke also of beasts and of birds and of reptiles and of fish, and men came to hear the Wisdom of Solomon and all the kings of earth came to listen to his wisdom.

The Holy Book established the fact that “by wisdom a house is built and by understanding it is established”. Hence the general believe that pure gold cannot be given in exchange for wisdom nor can silver be weighed as its price.

Against this background, the focus and promotion of the basic knowledge of wisdom, particularly its spiritual essence and values through this platform is not only crucial to human daily life and survival but it is also of great significance to the dignity of man and the actualisation of the much desired egalitarian society of our dream.

Indeed, as readers, this platform will provide a daily guide and avenue for you to understand what is right, just and fair. It will also provide an insight for you to unravel the best and noble approach to the right course of action every time. In the process, you will not only be filled with spiritual blessings of wisdom but the power of knowledge and ideas will equally fill you with joy while wise planning will watch over you and understanding will surely keep you safe and strive for a better tomorrow.

A word from the AUTHOR

Welcometo this first edition of Wisdom for victorious living. This book is a Christian publication that is aimed at encouraging both Christians and non-Christians alike. We are in the era of change. This book hopes to bring wisdom for thriving not just surviving in a global economic downturn but also to restore hope for the hopeless. This book is for such a time as this. Why another book you ask? Thousands of birds fly in the sky and never collide. The calling of God may be similar but there is always uniqueness to every calling. There is a mark of difference, a distinction when you do what God calls you to do. This is why this book is born at this crucial economic period globally. It is born at an appointed time.

I moved into the London borough of Barking & Dagenham in June 2001. As a holistic and tripartite being, our basic needs include physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Hence, I started to search the area for the GP surgery, the shopping mall, schools, and a Church where to worship. In the previous nine years before I moved to Dagenham, I was an active bonafide member of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC). I was still contemplating travelling backwards and forwards to KICC which is over ten miles away when God spoke to me clearly. He instructed me to worship locally because He brought me here for a reason. God gave me a revelation of what He is about to do in the London borough of Barking and Dagenham. He said that the set time to favour Barking and Dagenham was now. He was going to do a new thing that eyes have not seen; ears have not heard neither has it come to the comprehension of men the changes He was ushering in for this area. He told me to make myself available for His use.

After searching the whole area, I started to attend and became a member of Bethel-the church on the Avenue-an Assembly of God full Gospel church. The mission statement of the church to passionately find, enthusiastically declare and dynamically show the heart of God captivated me. I have worshipped in a number of churches previously; there was a uniqueness that is unparalleled to Bethel. Bethel has a good mixture of black and white Christians genuinely worshipping God in one accord. It has a strong visionary leader that is not domineering as well as a crop of intelligential as elders in the church. Bethel is contemporary in every aspect of church and community life. It is Apostolic as it plants other churches. It does missionary work all the time. It caters for in-reach within the church as well as out-reaches in the wider community. It is very passionate and deep rooted in evangelism. The church has been in existence for over eighty years in Dagenham serving the community and propagating the Gospel.

Bethel-the church on the Avenue gave me a lot of opportunities and inspirations that I can only describe as transformation of the avowed work of destiny and God sent. I have travelled to China and Hong Kong twice to be a voice, eyes, ears, hands and feet for God-God’s ambassador. I have been on mission to Columbia, USA , Israel . I am a community life leader and a Street Pastor. I am involved in the Watoto Children Choir/ Ministry amongst my other involvement in ministry in Bethel and in my private life/working alongside other men and women of God in their communities. I have a lot to share and foster building communities and transforming lives. This is the mission statement for the over thirty community life groups that we run in Bethel. This also is the mission statement of the local Government here in Barking and Dagenham

When I became a member of Bethel, there were two hundred or less people attending. From my first day, I saw thousands of people worshipping with my eye of the spirit. I started to pray along those lines based on the revelation that God gave me. Today, we have over a thousand people on the attendance list of Bethel Church with at least seven hundred attending regularly. Pentecostal churches were scarce in the borough when I moved in. Today, there is a Pentecostal church on almost every other street while there are upsurge movement of churches to every nook and cranny of the community. The pivotal place that the borough occupies for the 2012 Olympics is another success story. There are lots in the history of Barking and Dagenham borough both past and present to celebrate and write about. In addition, a lot will be x-rayed through this publication to reflect societal life and the need for positive change in order to achieve the desired goal as proclaimed by God. God is always faithful. He is who He says He is and He will do what He says He will do.

I am a freelance writer- a member of the association of freelance writers, Sevendale House, 7 Dale Street, Manchester, M1 1JB. I am also a professional Manager with honours degree in Management. I am a member of Chartered Management Institute. I am a registered Nurse with honours degree in Community Nursing. I am a member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council and Royal College of Nursing. I have a lot to write about and experiences to share. I passionately believe that Wisdom is priceless, supreme and remains a principal factor in the race of life.

Mike Murdock often says that there is no finance problem but wisdom problem. There is no relationship problem but wisdom problem. Wisdom equals wealth and health. God is the only all-wise one. All human beings no matter how wise can increase in wisdom. Proverbs 12 v15-17 says that wise people loves instruction. The beginning of wisdom is the fear of God. This book is going to be positively influence on what God is doing locally in Barking and Dagenham, nationally and internationally. It will benchmark best practices as examples for building our communities and transforming lives. It will also dwell on the wisdom of the elders particularly anointed men of God across the globe in order to reshape our destinies.
