Meat is not only cruel and damaging to the environment but full of unhealthy fats and calories. When forests are destroyed to produce industrial meat, billions of tonnes of carbon dioxide are released into the atmosphere, accelerating global warming. Eating meat can lead to many health problems. If you switch to a vegetarian or vegan diet you will be much healthier and still be able to enjoy your favourite meals. You can still have pasta, curries, chilli, burgers, and all the things you enjoy. Simply use Quorn products or something similar (new meat free products are appearing all the time) as a substitute for meat. You can get four or five meals out of a bag of Quorn vegemince so it isn't as if it will cost you a fortune. Use vegetable stock cubes, chilli powder, fresh cherry tomatoes, and vegetarian gravy granules to give the Quorn mince plenty of flavour. If you eat meat then you are a part of a vile and evil industry. You are contributing to the profits of heartless companies who make money from exploiting animals. There is plenty of stuff you can eat aside from meat and you'll be much healthier for it. Not only will giving up meat reduce the amount of calories you are taking in it will also be of great benefit to your long term health and reduce the risk of you developing cancer. (2) Go for a walk at least once a day. It doesn't have to be a long walk. You can go at your own pace and even just walk around the block a few times if you want to. Just make sure that at least once a day you get out of the house and car and stretch your legs. Even if it just a stroll down to the shop. Listen to a podcast during your walk to make it a more pleasurable experience. The main reason most of us don't get enough exercise is simple. Exercise is boring and a chore! Sure, there are people who are addicted to the gym and love jogging but most of us have never been in a gym in our lives and never especially want to. Most of us would feel silly jogging around our neighbourhood in a vest. You don't have to have a gym membership or run marathons to get healthy exercise. Walking is the perfect way to make exercise less of a chore and the best thing of all is that it won't cost you a penny!(3) Stop buying chocolate bars. If you don't have chocolate in the house then you can't eat it! Chocolate bars are full of sugar and calories and are best avoided. You can have one now and again as a treat but you are not going to stay trim if you eat chocolate all the time. If you have a sweet tooth trying buying some dates. Dates taste just like toffee and should satisfy a sweet tooth. They have amazing health qualities too. If you wrap a date around a walnut it tastes just like a Topic bar with the toffee sweetness of the date and the nutty crunch of the walnut!(4) Do not eat rubbish late at night when it is nearly time for bed.
