Basic Acrylic Pouring Techniques
This book is going to be for the very beginner, if you've never done a pour before, you will get great tips as you read along. I've noticed that there are hundreds of pouring book and videos out there and nobody is showing how to start anymore.
Today I'm going to be showing you how I do my acrylic pouring step by step. If you are a newbie to acrylic pouring, then this book will be a good place to start. When I did my first acrylic pour, I was so tense, worried about making mistakes, but after a years of doing acrylic pouring I can say it’s really fun and relaxing way to create a master piece. My process is really simple, straight to the point and the supplies that I use are use aren't archival. If you intend to sell your acrylic paintings, you should get artist grade acrylics with a pro pouring medium such as the liquidtex brand because they are produced for such work but for now let’s just have fun and experiment with inexpensive supplies that you can easily get at the craft store or big-box store or dollar store.
What is Acrylic Pouring?
This a special fluid painting technique where paint is usually blended in with some kind of pouring medium and afterward poured onto a canvas surface in different ways. Sometimes several colors are added into a single cup and poured together; at times a single color is poured straightforwardly from singular cups.
From that point forward, the surface is manipulated toward every path to allow the paint to flow, and the colors combine in unimaginable, yet continually fascinating ways. Regardless of the pour painting strategies or procedures you attempt, you can make your own special unique liquid craftsmanship at home.
Acrylic pouring (otherwise called paint pouring, liquid art and fluid art) is quite possibly the most famous fine arts around, however there are a couple of things you'll need to understand before starting. I've made this tips and tricks manual to help newbie’s avoid common mistakes and utilize your time all the more successfully as you become familiar with this new art form. I've added a couple of methods that are ideal to begin with. How about we start!
Use Little Gradual Measures Of Medium When Blending Substantial Body Acrylics
When you want to blend heavy body acrylics for a liquid pour, begin with a couple of drops of medium. Make sure you mix well and afterward add a little bit more medium. Keep going until you achieve the paint consistency that you desire. This will eliminate heavy thick acrylic from clumping or not mixing well which is usual when attempting to blend all the paint and medium at once.
Set Your Eyes On Goal
Don’t be tempted to work on numerous paintings, simplicity is the key and pour on a single painting at a time. Take your time to learn the process for a particular pour before you proceed to the next, as you do this, you will build your confidence and trust in basic pouring techniques and methods before you attempt your next kind of pour.
Plans Ahead – Don't Rely On Chance!
I realize it appears to be fun to simply pour paint over a surface and let the magic begin; however, you'll never build up your abilities this way, and learn from your mistakes. Visualize what you really want to paint before you begin. What sort of pour would you like to try? Or what would be your base color? What color would you like to use for your painting? Are the provisions for the pour painting complete before you begin? While you can't predict the final result of your pour, each pour painting technique is unique and all poured painting do not always have the same outcome. You can thoroughly consider type of pour, color, kind of material, and so on.
