INTRODUCTION

Over the last few years, the Air fryer have been making a lot of waves, on social medial, TV commercial and store shelves as a substitute for conventional oven. People are starting to realize the importance of eating healthy and the Air fryer is creating a pathway to eating fried food without the toxic compound in it. The Appliance produce mouth-watering, tender, crispy and moist food with just a little amount of oil or none at all. With an air fryer you can prepare crispy fried chicken, shrimps, croquettes, potato chips, egg rolls without having to consume so much grease that comes from trans-fat.

I love the creativity and how versatile the air fryer can be, you can grill, bake, roast, fry and do many more things with your air fryer, you spend lesser time cooking than the traditional method of cooking. I have tried a lot of my favorite recipes with the air fryer and they all turned out great-Sweet Potato Wedges, Burgers, French Toasted Ratatouille. In no time you have a crispy and delicious food ready.

All I can say is you are about to discover the magic of using the air fryer-Trust me if I say you will surely fall in love with this.

What You Need To Know About An Air Fryer

Increasing in popularity, the air fryer is a kitchen appliance used for cooking almost anything. It can be used to cook meat, veggies or fries. It uses a convection mechanism to circulate air around the food at high speed which crisps up the outer surface of food. Food is placed and cooked in the appliance basket that goes in and comes out like a drawer at the bottom with the heating element, fan and setting all located on top.

Is The Air Fryer Healthy?

The Bulletproof Diet is different from other types of diet that only focus on what to eat alone. Bulletproof Diet focus on cooking food without much toxic compound in it. On like the deep frying that give an amazing taste, but not all healthy.  When you cook your vegetables or meat in hot oil, it destroys most of its nutrients because the heat oxidizes the frying oil itself. But with the fryer, most of the nutrient in your food will not be lost-since it make use of little or no oil at all.

Why Cook With The Air Fryer

Easy To Use

The fryer is user friendly with no complex components at all-you just select the cooking temperature and time, with few shaking and flipping some time. No need for regular stirring like the stove top. Even if you need to check the progress of your cooking, you can easily have a look at you food while cooking without losing a lot of heat.

Adapted To Many Different Functions

Within few weeks of using the Air fryer, I was so in love with it. You can do a lot with it, you can bake, fry, grill, stir fry and even roast. I have cooked a lot of my favorite meals in my air fryer successfully, which turned out to be nice. You can cook frozen or fresh food, meats, sandwich, veggies and more. What even make it more interesting is, you can get a lot of accessories with your air fryer- like grill pan, rotisserie rack, pizza pans, steamer inserts and the list goes on. With the dividable baskets, you can even cook more than one mean at the same time in the air fryer, isn’t that lovely!

Ease To Clean-Up

Cleaning my fryer isn’t a big deal at all, after all I have to clean-up is a pan and basket which does not even have food stuck unto them; within some few minutes, you can be done with the cleaning. It’s as simple as that.

Space Saver

If your kitchen is small, you won’t have any challenge of finding the right spot to place your air fryer, they do not take up a lot of space. This is one of the good benefit of the small size, just about the size of a coffee maker.

Quicker Meals

The Air fryer cook meal faster than the oven, it uses mechanism to circulate air around the food at high speed which makes cooking faster, more so the smaller size give it an advantage to cook faster. An air fryer will need lesser minutes of about 20 minute for a meal that cooks for 25-35 minutes in the oven. Also the time needed to come to temperature is very fast compared to an oven which needs longer time to preheat. The Air fryer is perfect to make quick meals, I was able to cook my frozen fries within 15 minutes which would have taken 40-45 minutes in the oven.

Healthier Cooking/ Low Fat Air Fryer Cooker

Can frying anything ever be healthy at all, Relax! What makes cooking in the air fryer appliance so healthy is that, it can be used without adding oil to it and if at all, you only need a tiny spray of oil. You can air fry chicken wings, frozen fries, onion rings, and lots more without the extra oil, and still have nice crispy results.

AIR FRYER SAFETY TECHNIQUES

Get a kitchen spray bottle. The moment you start cooking with the air fryer, you will realize you need a spray oil, which is better than brushing or drizzling. Spraying allow you to use lesser oil. The disadvantage of buying oil spray in can is, sometimes they contain aerosol agents that can damage the fryer nonstick surface. Spray bottles are not expensive and really worth it. Spraying with cooking oil way through cooking helps to make the food brown and crispy.

Pre-Heat

Most air fryer needs to be preheated before you start cooking. Just select the cooking temperature and time to 3- 5 minutes and allow the timer go off before setting the cooking time.

Master Your Breading Technique

One of the important technics in using the air fryer is breading. You will have to dredge in flour, before you dip in egg and lastly coat in bread crumbs, making sure the breading adhere. If not done properly the fan might blow off breading from the food.

Cook In Batches If Necessary

You have to resist the temptation of trying to cook large food at once in the air fryer. Overcrowding will leave your food not evenly done or crispy. Cook large portion of food in batches in the fryer to avoid your food not been evenly crispy or evenly brown

Make Use Of The Air Fryer Accessories

One good thing about the air fryer is, it comes with different accessories and you can easily get more accessories as you see fit. Even some of the oven safe pan and dished can be used in the fryer as long as they are well fitted into the fryer and do not have a direct contact with the heating element.

Remember to turn food over midway through the cooking process the same way you flip food when using the skillet or grill to have an evenly brown and crispy meal. You may also need to shake the basket periodically during the cooking process for some recipes to even distribute and have an even crispy and brown food.

You can take a peek in the air fryer and check the progress of your food without losing heat or interrupt the cooking time. When you pull the drawer out and check for doneness and close it back, the fryer just pick up from where is stops.

Trouble-Shooting

You see a black smoke coming out from your air fryer. Turn off your appliance and check inside the fryer around the heating element. This might be as a result of food blown up into heating element.

If your food is not getting evenly brown or crispy enough. Make sure you did not add too much oil while spraying or over-crown the basket in the air fryer. Always cook large meal in batches.

You see a white smoke coming out underneath your air fryer. This could be cause by grease slipping into the drawer that is burning, to stop this, add little water into the drawer. This should stop the burning.

Air Fryer Clean-Up And Maintanance

As said earlier there is not really much to do cleaning an air fryer but there are basic thing that you need to know.

Do Not

Most Air Fryer are nonstick. Do not use anything like steel wool, scrubby sponges or metal utensils to clean it. The surface can easily be scratched by anything abrasive.

If you must clean the main unit, just wipe with a clean damp cloth, do not dip into water. That will damage the airfryer.

Proper Way To Clean Your Air Fryer

Make sure it has been unplugged for about 30 minutes

Remove the basket and pan into your dishwasher, those can easily be cleaned

You can also hold in your hands and clean with soft sponge soap with hot water to clean the inside

When you have a crusty bit that is stuck unto the pan, soak the pan in hot water and soap for few minutes in the sink. This should get rid of the crust easily.
