Shambhu Dasa, a direct disciple of Srila Prabhupada, became inspired by two essential, recurring themes in Srila Prabhupada’s books: First, the importance of attaining a human birth and utilizing it properly, and secondly, the immense sukrti or pious credits by taking birth in Bharata-Varsha or India and its subsequent opportunities. Although Srila Prabhupada’s causeless mercy from his own spiritual master brought him to the Western shores of a bustling, chaotic New York City in the mid-60s for preaching his spiritual master’s message, his satisfied heart still yearned for his true home in Sri Vrindavana Dhama, the birthplace of Lord Krishna. His self-determination in spreading this vital message led him to a successful life, both here and for eternity. Srila Prabhupada took that prabhu-desha -order to heart, travelled to America, and finally, Krishna empowered him to establish the divine, personal connection of bhakti-yoga and spread this panacea all over the world.
Throughout this book Shambhu Prabhu presents and highlights some great "Jewels" of Instructions given by Srila Prabhupada and the various scriptures (shastra) that will surely encourage any reader to see how fortunate they are granted this rare life as a human being, whether In India Bharat-Varsha or anywhere on this planet (Earth).

I offer my humble obeisance, unto you, my beloved spiritual master, His Divine Grace Om Vishnupada Paramahamsa Parivrajakacharya Astottara Sata Sri Srimad A. C. Bhakivedanta Swami Maharaja Srila Prabhupada, who is extremely dear to Sri Krsna, having taken shelter at His lotus feet.
Our respectful obeisance’s unto you, O servant of Srila Bhaktisiddhanti Sarasvati Thakura Prabhupada. You are kindly preaching the message of Sri Gaurasundara and delivering the Western countries that are filled with impersonalism and voidism.

There are no words to express properly how grateful I am to our beloved spiritual master, nitya-lila-pravista om vishnupada paramahamsa parivrajakacarya astottara-sata Sri Srimad His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Maharaja Srila Prabhupada—to whom I will always be eternally indebted.
I pray at His lotus feet, who has been too kind to me and is the inspiration behind this project, hoping He will be pleased.
My vartma-pradarshaka guru, His Grace Sriman Balaka das Prabhu, whose guidance and encouragement inspired me to take shelter of our beloved spiritual master.
Sriman Raghunandana das Prabhu, my maternal-paternal brother and most significant godbrother who encouraged me to go and hear the words of Sriman Balaka das Prabhu during the early days (1970’s) in our home town “Riggs-Park” Washington D.C.
To my parents, without whom the opportunity in this lifetime would not have taken place.
To all my god-brothers/sisters and all the dedicated book distributors of Srila Prabhupada’s transcendental literature, serving Srila Prabhupada’s mission.
“Whenever I get a report of my book selling, I feel strength. Even now, in this weakened condition, I have got strength from your report. You should know that in this work you have Krishna’s Blessings.” Letter to Satsvarupa 9/8/1974.
“Whatever progress we have made, it is simply due to distributing the books. So go on, and do not divert your mind for a moment from this.” Letter to Ramesvara 10/11/1974.
When Srila Prabhupada returned to India with his “White Elephants” (newly initiated Western disciples) from his initial embarkment to America in 1965, crowds gathered wherever he went as he preached his epiphanic message to his fellow Indian compatriots Lord Sri Chaitanya MahaPrabhu's Instructions:
bharata bhumite haila manusya janma yara
janma sarthaka kari’ kara para-upakara
“Having taken a human birth in Bharata-varsha (India), make your life successful by preaching this transcendental message of Krishna consciousness to the world.”
Examining that same Srimad-Bhagavatam that Lord Brahma read more than three times himself, and having heard lectures spoken from Srila Prabhupada so many times also, Shambhu dasa, a direct formally initiated disciple of Srila Prabhupada, became inspired by two essential, recurring themes in Srila Prabhupada’s books: First, the importance of attaining a human birth and utilizing it properly, and secondly, the immense sukrti or pious credits by taking birth in Bharata-varsha or India and its subsequent opportunities. His self-determination of spreading this vital message led him to a successful life, both here and for eternity. Srila Prabhupada took that prabhu-desha -order to heart, travelled to America, and finally Krishna empowered him to establish the divine, personal connection of bhakti-yoga and spread this panacea all over the world.
We can only try to follow in his footsteps and pray that our attempts will be successful, as he stressed throughout his life and teachings.
