A huge, semi-arboreal Australian native lizard, these guys spend their time partially in the trees and partially on the ground. They reach a length of around 15-20 inches, including their tail, and have spines running along both sides of their bodies to the base of their tail.
Their name comes from the flap of skin behind their chin that opens up to warn away predators.
Bearded Dragon is a colloquial term that refers to all eight species of the genus Pogona. They were previously classified under the genus Amphibolurus, but have been reclassified as Pogona.
