I can bet you someone is trying to manipulate you at the office these days, people always try to manipulate those around them. There are those who do it with good intentions, like your parents or spouse, and on the other side, are those who do it for their own personal gains. Yes my friend, it is a cruel world, and if you don't open your eyes to what has always been going on, you will be in serious trouble. Niccolo Machiavelli, the great statesmen who wrote The Prince many centuries ago said if you are always good, you will fall into disgrace because people are not always good, sometimes people are extremely nasty, and those who are always good will be prey to them, so you have to know when to be good and when not to be good.    Awareness is the most important aspect of Marketing and a million other fields and daily life activities. If we are not aware a product or service is available on the market, the chances we will buy it is exactly zero. That is why marketers of all major companies and corporations all over the world develop strategic advertising campaigns to make all their potential clients aware their services and products exist, only after creating awareness can you channel their desire accordingly to buy your services and products.

Why Should You Listen and Take Advice from a Guy Who Got Fired 10 Times in 20 Years?

Just to start, you can only learn if you do it yourself. Albert Einstein famously said, “If you never made a mistake, you’ve never tried anything new”. I have attempted all kinds of strategies and tactics to grow my career, and many times this led me to a dead-end at my previous jobs. All bosses, all over the World, feel insecure around a talented and dedicated employee they manage. Yes, I admit, many times my career growth strategies, which I acquired by reading many books and some I developed myself, have taken me to unwanted places. However, it is in my nature to always try and test new things, what the experts nowadays call “innovation”. Instead of innovating in tech, I do it at work by always split testing new approaches on how to handle bosses and colleagues. It is all about how you handle each situation that will make you have a skyrocketing career, or become a bum on the sidewalks.

I now have 13 published books, that bring me some nice cash at the end of each month. The lessons I have learned over these 20 years, and now I’m passing on to you, were all acquired in the trenches. In this book, I give no theoretical advice and mumble around, I only provide actionable strategies that can be executed right after you read each chapter. You don’t need to wait to finish the book to start applying. Go ahead and start taking action as soon as you start reading chapter 1. And now, let’s dive into it head-first!

To Be Aware You’ve Got a Problem is the First Step to Solve It!

I read once about a study the Brazilian government ran in the Northeast parts of the country, where extreme poverty has always beaten its' people down. The Federal authorities wanted to find a way to help the forever impoverished population of this region. The researchers set to work and went knocking door-to-door to find out how best they could evaluate their situation, and what could alleviate their harsh situation.

After interviewing a few people, it became clear that the vast majority did not own a refrigerator. So the next day, they set to discover if the people were given free refrigerators, would this be a start to solve their issues? And house after house, the researches asked the residents the following question: "If the government gives you a free refrigerator, would your family's lives be improved?" And, without any exceptions, all of the residents replied the government would not give them refrigerators, especially for free. They tried explaining to them that there was a budget and yes, they would be getting free refrigerators. But the residents could not even imagine the situation. They could not conceive of it happening. So, what did the government do? They suspended the program and the residents got nothing. Only because they were not able to become aware of reality. They refused to see what was right before their eyes. You shouldn't be like them. The great Napoleon Hill famously said, "Whatever the mind can conceive, it can achieve." They refused to see and be aware they had a problem, as all their lives they had no refrigerators, why would they believe they could get one now, and for free? It was unbelievable to them, and so what they thought of became true!
