Introduction
Nail polish might not currently be stocked
amongst your craft supplies, but after you
discover its versatility, you will be scooping
up tons of bottles on your next trip to the
drugstore. With a variety of finishes—including
metallic, glitter, pastel, neon, and iridescent—
and with colors in every shade of the rainbow,
you are sure to find just the shade to suit
your needs.
Nail polish has a few advantages over
regular acrylic craft paint, a key one being
the ability to adhere to almost any surface.
Nail polish glides easily onto glass, metal,
ceramics, paper, wood, and more. Once on the
surface, nail polish is extremely durable. Its
glossy finish resists scratches and stands up
well to everyday wear, just like it does when it
is on your nails! Nail polish also levels out on
its own and dries quickly, meaning it will not
dry with uneven brush strokes like with most
acrylic paints.
The beginning of this book is packed
with useful information you can use while
completing the projects. There is a list of
tools and supplies, as well as useful tips
and techniques. We’ll teach you things like
marbling (page 26) and paint pouring (page
31) so you can apply them to projects like the
Monogrammed Mugs (page 40) and Sapphire
Blue Coasters (page 70). Once you learn the
techniques, you’ll see how effortless it is to
use your creativity to put your own personal
stamp on the projects you make.
Entering the world of nail polish crafting is
easy, and the brush built right into the cap
means you can just grab a bottle and get right
to painting!
With a vast array of available
colors stocked at almost any store (and
probably on your vanity, too), nail polish is a
versatile, budget-friendly option for creating
fun, personalized projects for yourself and
your home.

Watercolor Marbled Mugs
– Use a water-dipped marbling technique (see page 26) to
transform ordinary white mugs into watercolor masterpieces. In a rainbow of coordinating
colors, these mugs are a great addition to your kitchen or the perfect gift for a coffee lover.

Monogrammed Hanger
– Make
a monogrammed wooden
hanger for a special occasion or
make a set for your wardrobe.
Simply apply letter stickers to
the middle of a wooden hanger
and masking tape around them
to create a box. Lightly dab dark
nail polish over the stickers,
adding coats as needed. When
dry, peel away the tape and
letter stickers. For an added pop
of color, paint the metal hook
rose gold.
Glittery Flatware
– Add some
festive flair to plain, mismatched,
or outdated cutlery by adding a
couple of coats of coordinating
solid nail polish colors to the
handles. (Be sure to not paint
the end you use to eat.) Allow
to dry then add a coat of glittery
nail polish.
Drip Vases
– Give plain, white
vases a modern touch! Fully
load a nail polish brush and
place it at the top edge, allowing
the paint to drip down the
side. Repeat the same color
multiple times around the rim
with even spacing between
each drip. Repeat with multiple
coordinating colors until all
available space is covered.

Pretty Phone Cases
- By painting a
pattern or decoration on the inside
of a clear phone case, you’ll end up
with a smooth protective exterior that
won’t wear or scratch. Customize ring
holders with the same color palette.
Monogrammed Journals
– Mask the
area you want to decorate with an
alphabet sticker and masking tape
(see page 34). Use more tape or paper
