In this third part of the trilogy "Dimensions of Reality" the author gives insight into the worldview underlying Nagual Shamanism and explains a multi-dimensional model of human beings and their subtle-energetic anatomy. It reveils a new, yet ancient understanding of our place and our potential in the fabric of creation. The book concludes with an illuminating overview of the evolution of human consciousness and an inspiring outlook on how things could evolve from here.

A gift from Alban B.; sand pendulum artist
Alban suffered a serious motorcycle accident in 2005, resulting in life-threatening injuries. He lost his right arm and most of his right leg and sustained multiple fractures in the face, head and chest area – as well as several other internal injuries (diaphragm, spleen, …), each of which would have been a life-threatening problem in itself. He had to have a liver transplant and was also diagnosed a highly malignant lymphoma at the hepatic portal.
After countless operations and a severe course of chemotherapy, Alban, following his “discharge” from the hospital, approached me and my study group, “The Spiral” in search of “healing.”
The healing ceremony turned into a very intensive engagement with life and death for all participants. Alban was able to gain deep insights into his history and carried out most intensive negotiations with both the “stalking” and the “benevolent death” (about these deaths, see part 1, chapter 2.2). Apparently, Alban negotiated very well, because against all expectations and prognoses, he managed to give his life – or what was left of it at that time – a new meaning and a new orientation. He subsequently found employment with a prosthesis manufacturing company, which took advantage of his talent as an artist and technician as well as his hands-on testing capabilities in the development of new and innovative prostheses.
Ten years later I still heard from friends that he was doing well, and I hope that this is still the case and will be so for a long time to come.

FOREWORD
Dimensions of reality – Part 3
The essentials of Nagual Shamanism
I hesitated for a long time to write this third essentials part, because writing down thoughts about this knowledge – which has been mostly handed down in a rudimentary, keyword-like manner – does have certain disadvantages. What I call the basic knowledge of Nagual Shamanism is essentially a compilation of maybe a dozen “wheels” with associated terms. (More on why the knowledge is mostly presented in “wheels” later on).
Engaging with these knowledge wheels means setting them in motion, and then oneself as well. And they can become a vehicle that carries one to realms of knowledge and experience that one has never known before or that were completely unexplored so far. However, it is also clear that every learner and every teacher will have different approaches and will therefore often interpret the wheels in quite distinctly differing ways according to their respective level of knowledge and experience. I, too, would have certainly presented some aspects of this third part quite differently a few years ago and would have had a different focus – and in a few years from now I would probably do it differently again. My hesitation to write down this part and thereby to “fixate” it resides in this plain fact.
One thing, however, that clearly spoke for this third part, is that in the other two parts of this trilogy, I don't have to dwell much on explanations in some places – which would disturb the flow of reading considerably. I can simply insert a cross-reference at certain places (for more details see part 3, chapter …), and readers who wants to know more about a particular subject can get more detailed information, if they want to.
So, here is the third part. During the writing process, another hurdle to overcome was the challenge to find a balance between two poles. The one was avoiding detail about things that are actually “banal” and self-evident, and thereby boring to the wellversed reader. The other obstacle was avoiding vagueness and imprecision and thus giving the reader, who may not yet be so experienced in the field, but is nevertheless interested, too little information. I hope I have succeeded on the whole, and barring a few “excursions,” I have limited myself to the really basic things that can be learned in a few years of training.
That’s why I feel it is important first and foremost to illuminate the paradox, so often mentioned in the theory part, of the juxtaposed, seemingly contradictory explanations of creation of the involution and the evolution from the nagual-shamanic point of view. (According to evolution, the basis of all being is matter – and thoughts, emotions and consciousness are merely epiphenomena of matter. According to involution, the all-encompassing consciousness is the basis of all being – and all that exists are but different manifestations of this One).
Admittedly, this is only a small part of the incredibly comprehensive knowledge and wealth of experience of Nagual Shamanism. But to dive deeper into it, it would be absolutely necessary to engage in the practical application, and this is certainly not to be achieved with “book instructions” only.
At places in the book, I use terms of American Indian linguistic origin, but I cannot guarantee that these actually exist in a living American Indian tradition in this form and with this meaning. My teachers handed them down to me, without further reference to their sources. Some seem to come from Lakota, others from Cherokee or even direct Aztec and Mayan sources.
Despite this very unpleasant lack of knowledge, I have nevertheless decided to use some of these terms that have become familiar to me over the years.
Another difficult decision was whether, in the description of the emergence of reality, I should begin with the evolution or with the involution, which we are not so familiar with. In the end, I decided to start with the more complex involution, which I have worked out or, where it already existed in rudiments, supplemented and redefined in past years. In case readers find this (involution) beginning too unfamiliar or complicated, they may skip chapters 3, 4 and 5 for the time being and continue with chapter 6 after the introductory chapters 1 and 2. It is perfectly acceptable to do it this way, since I could just as well have built up the book this way and started with evolution.
The decision to present “the story of Everything” from both the evolution and the involution side, inevitably implies that there are some overlaps and, in some cases, even repetitions. I hope that these will be perceived as welcome “re-explanations” from another point of view and not as “I know that already.”
I am aware that in this 3rd part of the trilogy in particular, the way of dealing with the topics takes place on very different levels of knowledge, experience and consciousness. This resulted already alone by the inclusion of the “children's count” of the twenty powers.
A few notes on the structure of this 3rd part:
After a brief introduction and explanation of the roots of Nagual Shamanism, there follows an overview of the understanding of the interplay of body-soul-mind, or matter-energy-consciousness, and of the presentation of the seven-dimension model of Nagual Shamanism.
In chapters 3, 4 and 5, the 20 essences and basic patterns of being, are described as actualizing potentialities from higher dimensions according to involution, and their mode of action and dynamics are dealt with in more detail.
Chapters 6 and 7 cover the most basic correlations and lead to chapter 8, the “Children's Count” of the 20 essences or powers according to evolution. In chapters 9 to 12 these are treated in more detail.
Chapters 13 to 18 deal with the Nagual Shamanism understanding of the “subtle anatomy” of the human being with a few cross connections to Vedic, Tibetan and Tantric knowledge.
Chapter 19 provides an overview of the evolution of human consciousness up to the present day and segues into chapter 20, an outlook on where things might develop from here.
