MANUAL FOR INNER HARMONIZATION

INTRODUCTION

Inner harmonization - or meditative harmonization as it was originally called – is a meditation technique, putting you in contact with your inner self and your energy, through conscious use of breathing, sound, movement and color. It was conceived in the seventies by Falco Tarassaco, Damanhur’s founder, and further developed in subsequent years by his immediate students, now teachers and instructors in their turn. It is usually taught and practised on three levels: on the first level the goal is sensitivity and the energy exchange within a group; on the second, the focus is on the individual, and the third explores our contact with living beings different from ourselves, such as animals, plants and natural forces.

In Damanhur we say that human beings present a magical three-dimensional design; starting from the assumption that magic is the art of acting on events and things without the limits imposed by matter, a design is magical insofar as it is able to express this power, by connecting to the laws that govern life in the universe and operating through them.

Our body of flesh and bone responds to the laws of time, of cause and effect in a straight line, always “right to left”, our total being, on the other hand, is linked to the wider laws of life, based on the infinite connections that bind all forms in the universe, with which it can learn to interact.

Each of us is a microcosm, a fractal of the universe, with which we share the divine matrix, orientation and energy. By acting on ourselves, exploring ourselves, we in fact embark on a journey of awareness that goes beyond us and propels us towards the knowledge of the essence of life in the universe.

In Harmonization, the knowledge of our subtle level is essentially perceptive, experiential. Every part of our energy body is involved in the practices of inner harmonization until it comes out cleansed and re-balanced. A thorough study of our subtle physiology is not necessary and could even be misleading, as it would be theoretical knowledge in the context of a discipline which is above all empirical in its approach.

To practice Inner Harmonization it will be enough to know that we have an aura around us, an energy halo extending from our skin outwards for about a meter which represents the door between us and the environment. We will also need to know the position of the seven chakras along the vertical axis of our body – as stated by many ancient traditions – and that the eighth chakra moves to overlap the various chakras in turn and gives them energy by catalyzing their functions. Lastly, we will need to be aware that the microlines connect each individual to the energies of the native environment at the time of birth and improve the flow of thought energy within the individual, in a similar way as the synchronic lines do for our planet.

As Inner Harmonization is essentially based on perception, what matters is not so much bringing a “cultural” focus on the nature and stimulation of the chakras or the aura, but rather being able to focus on what is happening inside us as we perform the various practices. By perceiving ourselves and our action-reactions, this allows us to expand the knowledge of ourselves, which is the basis of all paths of meditation.

The universe is composed of a single energy and a single great consciousness, so it has a fractal structure that is, in its turn, composed of forms made of energy and consciousness. We human beings are complex forms, a bridge between different dimensions, and, according to the law of correspondence, to have knowledge of ourselves means to have knowledge of the universe. This means that by expanding our own awareness, we will ultimately reach enlightenment and divine transformation.

Imagine that the universe, life, time, are bright threads each representing the derivative laws, the branches of time, the experiences of all beings, the vital energy.

Every human being, as a magical three-dimensional design, is a comb through which all these threads pass. We may lack any awareness of this because the comb is clogged and missing some teeth, or we can gradually acquire the ability to perceive every thread that runs through us, select one and interact with it. In this way the microcosm is a fractal of the macrocosm, until it expresses all its power: just as within us the intelligences of all our organs merge into one, so outside us we merge with everything else while retaining our individuality. Every human being is thus the point of convergence for an infinity of threads connected with every part of the universe. We are made of the same primordial energy that gives life to all forms and through it we are connected to the whole: when we say that the fluttering of a butterfly’s wings in South America causes a tidal wave in Europe, we mean precisely that all is connected. Each of us carries inside a trail which, were we able to retrace it, as the salmon does in its river, this would lead us back to the first source of life passing through all forms and experiences around us. And also through all times, since each human being is a sort of time machine that contains the experiences and memories of very different eras, inherited through the lives of the various personalities that make up the structure of the human soul.

Thus, each of us is a microcosm that has the ability to link up with every point in life and time. As we move, as we act, we write in time and space, and leaving our signature is part of our mission, different for everyone, but all similarly leaving such signatures.

Inner Harmonization aims to enhance the magical three-dimensional design of the human being, ensuring that all its physical and subtle components are activated, that its perceptions stabilize its existence in form, that its word and thought have the power to create and its connections with others are rich and enriching.

For those who seek inner peace and the awakening of their inner divinity, this is a path to enlightenment; for those who seek to balance their chakras and cleanse their auras this is a Western yoga.
