Events happen every day that can be seen from a different perspective. Here I try to document such views. Whether they can agree or not is up to their point of view. It may be that you can't exactly agree with that, but there are perhaps problems that would be easier to solve than just using armed force. Our planet would benefit from a different perspective on so many events. That's why I decided to see some events in society, politics and the climate from a different perspective.

Foreword

Far be it from me to attack or judge anyone here. Rather, it is my view of things, as I interpret it below. It may well be that one or the other thinks that this is a radical view of things. But sometimes it seems to me that you bury your head in the sand. Not reacting will resolve itself. I think this thread runs through the whole of the Scriptures. As I said, this is not paternalism of anyone, but my opinion on various things at home and abroad.

February 2024

Is the Internet dangerous?

The largest Internet companies are being held accountable to the Senate and it is very difficult to elicit a confession or an apology from them. But if you find out that our young people spend almost 4 hours a day surfing on the Internet, then this is more than questionable. Isn't this group of people aware that they don't notice a lot of their surroundings? Above all, the argument that you can maintain your social contacts on the net is not exactly right either. But it is also shown to these young people by the adults. If you move around in public space, for example, you can already see that there are not only young people on the "net", but this runs through all age groups. As far as the justification on the part of the Internet companies is concerned, it is not exactly about apologies, but much more about the fact that such postings should be prevented from the outset. But how to prevent such dangerous sites and statements is certainly not easy. Only the corresponding corporations have ignored this problem for years at the expense of young people. But it is not necessarily due to such providers, but also to us, society, who are also encouraged by our actions to put their opinions, photos, videos and the like on the "net".

Payment cards instead of cash

In Germany, they are trying to counter the onslaught of refugees and mean to get this under control with a payment card. Pilot projects are already underway in some federal states. However, the fact that other EU members can also make friends with it is already an approach to prevent such flows into the Union. But this can only be one aspect of the whole problem. Since these are taxpayers' money, they should also be limited to shopping without cash in the region where this application for asylum is made, which would also benefit the local economy. There is also the question of why asylum procedures have to take so long. For example, people come to the EU who cannot even identify themselves, for example because smugglers advise them to conceal their identity. It is already clear that, according to the individual conventions and human rights, the individual member states must also comply with them. It is only if a refugee thinks that he can gain entry into the Union by concealing his identity should this be stopped. No proof of identity – no asylum status. It may sound harsh to the people concerned if such measures were to be taken, but this current immigration policy costs every taxpayer a great deal of money. If this were to be extended to the whole of the Union, it is easy to imagine that this would lead to a great reduction. But if you think of veto fans within the EU again, this is probably not easy to implement.

Strike against Houthi rebels

The fact that America and the British are launching an attack on military installations must be noted. But it's only about a handful of deaths from this action. The argument of both attackers is that they are retaliating against the 3 American soldiers, and that they want to show that they want to make one of the largest trade routes through the Suez Canal a bit safer. It is only noteworthy that the aggressor Russia is convening the Security Council at the UN to discuss and condemn these air strikes. Could it be that one wants to distract from one's own lust for power? It's just that the "special operation" has resulted in significantly more deaths. However, the Houthi rebels' justification for their action in the Middle East cannot be completely dismissed. From this point of view, it is said that such attacks will cease if a ceasefire were to be reached in Israel and then a two-state solution could be agreed upon. It's about time, because the friction between Israel and Palestine hasn't been going on since yesterday, but for years and decades. Both sides would certainly have to give in to the Middle East conflict. This would certainly be a step in the right direction.

Is the economy shrinking in Germany?

For months, there have been strikes supported by the respective trade unions. Whether it's rail or aviation. People are taking to the streets to perhaps find better conditions in terms of salary and working hours. It's just that such strikes put a massive strain on the German economy. In addition, the forecast for economic growth is continuously being revised downwards. But since this is not exactly a small state, such tendencies will of course also have an impact on the world economy. One thinks, for example, of Austria, where we maintain a lively exchange of goods with our neighbouring country and thus our economy is also affected. Could it be that this country has made mistakes in the past that should be corrected now? But the FRG is not an isolated case.

Can bloodlust still be stopped?

First of all, the attack in the north of the Gaza Strip is intensive, with the intention of eliminating Hamas, and in the same breath it calls on the population living there to move to the south. Now these people have fled to the south with their miserable property and are not sure of their lives there either. There are attacks and bombings without regard for the refugees who have fled there. Only here we are not talking about a handful of people, but about millions. Those who fear for their lives. In this context, the American president is trying to put pressure on his "friendly" state, but apparently they are hardly noticed there. Now, however, America is not only friends with Israel, but it is also probably the largest financier as well as arms supplier. If, for example, the supply of ordnance and money were to be restricted, much more could be achieved than with words. Because the goal of the Israeli president to wipe out Hamas is probably illusory, as the past has shown us in terms of the destruction of radical Islamic currents. See the IS (Islamic State), which is also perhaps weakened but still active. Appropriate reactions should only be taken very soon to avoid a conflagration in this region.

Supply Chain Act postponed or failed

Once again, they met to pass a law that probably shouldn't have been in the first place. With such a legislative proposal, the EU wants to ensure that, for example, large corporations or importers from countries outside the Union devote themselves to the creation of goods. For example, the working conditions and the resulting pay are to be examined. Furthermore, our EU standard is once again to be applied to such manufacturing countries. It almost comes to mind, a posturing that was brought to light during the time of colonization. In this context, however, it is also remarkable that such companies had moved their production to the Far East years ago, because it was possible to produce more cheaply there. Whether this was worthwhile for these companies, just think of the costs for transport, is questionable. If you want to introduce this law in an amended form next week. So the question arises as to who has to check such a production. Is it precisely these corporations that apparently outsourced their production years ago? If such a check is carried out in accordance with EU standards, it can be assumed that this will once again be passed on to the end customer. It may be that years ago the production of such goods in the Far East was cheaper, but did they always think about the transport costs? In addition, the burden on our climate due to such long transport routes has also been correspondingly burdened. So before you get such laws off the ground, you should look at the whole matter.

Is it the citizens of the Union who are now voting?

As was to be expected, there are again cross-shots from Hungary. This time, the Hungarian prime minister thinks that national parliaments should send their mandates to Brussels, thus depriving EU citizens of their voting rights. But there is the saying that says: Power comes from the people. It is only with such proposals that democracy is likely to be attempted. It is only remarkable that Hungarians, who are among the gross contributors to the EU, are striving for such changes. Isn't it always the case when unanimity is required, when this Prime Minister gets in the way? Only when his demands were met did he agree to the respective proposals as well as laws. It would only be fair if the individual citizen in the Union were able to choose his or her own representative in the EU. Conversely, one could also think that if such a proposal were to become law, individual states would only send "system loyalty" to the Union through their parliament, and this should be prevented. As I said, democracy should come from the people and not from individual people who do not think in the interests of EU citizens. In this context, it is worrying that people in several countries are taking to the streets to protect democracy.

Fiscal Spending and NATO

When you hear from the former president that you do not want to comply with the duty to provide assistance in the event of a crisis, this is very worrying. The background to this is that already during his reign, this person called on the members of this defense alliance to spend up to 2 percent of the national budget. Some are complying with this demand, such as the United States. There is no question that there must be an alliance that has to defend itself against aggressors. Only this percentage is about tens of billions that are invested in the arms industry and do without environmental protection and global warming, for example. But now in America they are fighting for every single billion that is to be spent on something, and this person demands even more. In this case, however, one can also assume that the gun lobby wants to secure its income in this state. What about this person? Is he now a patron of this lobby or should he not react in the interests of his citizen? If such percentages were also applied to spending on climate protection and research into alternative energies, it would probably benefit planet Earth rather than putting huge amounts of budget money into it. Such spending would probably be more beneficial to our globe as well as to the next generation.

Are we still playing war in space?

Apparently, there is not enough space on Earth and so you have to go into space. According to previously unconfirmed reports, the Russian aggressor is tinkering with space-based weapons. Well, space is probably infinite. The only question is, how far will Putin go? Is his "special operation" in Ukraine still not enough for him? This is the only place where there is no sign of a solution to this conflict. Only such activity is extremely dangerous as far as the security of our planet is concerned. What, then, is the next step that this person starts? Does he also want to launch nuclear weapons into space? How long do you let such a person do as he pleases? It may well be that after such a despot has been removed from power, other people will appear on the scene and think that they must continue in line with Putin. Only this aggressor doesn't care about his own population as well as our Mother Earth. Therefore, one could assume that a successor will very well consider such actions. Apparently, on our planet, it is always possible for such people to come to power and then push through their absurd ideas. Is this still beneficial to the individual citizen?

Regimekritiker Alexej Navalny Tod

How could it have been expected otherwise? All people who oppose the head of state will be put to death or will have to be liquidated, as in the specific case. There are plenty of examples in this country. If you also think of the leader of the mercenary troop Wagner, for example. As is customary in dictatorships, only one opinion or direction applies. Those who oppose it will have to bear the consequences. But if you look at history, such despots were only in power for a limited time and in some cases paid with their lives. Now this "tsar" can still be confirmed in an election next March. Just since the result is already known before the ballot, one wonders why such a vote is being launched. This is certainly not a democratic process, but a single person just wants to be confirmed in his intoxication with power. How long this population will continue to look at Russia is another matter. A reaction to such a vote is likely to show the turnout. But this also raises the question of what will happen after Putin? Is this perhaps a return to a democratic form? But even this is not to be expected from this state.

Nuclear weapons for Europe

Now there are already about 400 nuclear weapons on this territory and we are seriously considering setting up new ones in the Union. This was thought about at a security conference in Munich. On the other hand, in Europe there is a state called Ukraine that is defending itself against an aggressor that possesses about many times more nuclear weapons. Now its president is also coming forward to ask for more support from the EU as far as arms deliveries are concerned. It is true that little had been done in the Union before the special operation that would support such production. But since the conflict between Ukraine and Russia is about much more than just securing the sovereignty of a country, more should be done in the EU. It is not just a matter of defending democracy, but also of the standards and values that have been painstakingly created in the Union. And now they go and think about whether they should not install more nuclear weapons there. The money that is to be used for this would certainly be better invested in the production of conventional weapons, especially since the budgets of the individual members do not exactly look rosy. But yes, if people in France, for example, are also thinking about pushing nuclear power, then such considerations of new nuclear weapons should hardly come as a surprise. To date, however, no answer has been formulated in the whole matter as far as the disposal of radioactive material is concerned.

North Korea and espionage

It is remarkable that the ruler Kim Jong-un is once again appearing in the media with negative headlines. On the one hand, they are tinkering with nuclear weapons and on the other hand, they are also engaged in large-scale espionage. This raises the question of what the aim is to achieve. In addition, of course, one can imagine that both in terms of weapons and knowledge, there can be no in-house production. The know-how as well as the components can only be produced to a small extent. Foreign support is also needed. This may mean that North Korea is probably only able to start such actions and productions if the material is also made available to them by major powers, for example. One can only guess how the population in North Korea can live there if funds are used for such actions. As I said, there are always lobbies that enrich themselves without regard to ethics and morals. Thus, various despots can hold on to power and directly and indirectly harass their own population. Are these the goals of our modern society?

Acts of revenge or not?

Houthi militias attack a container ship with two anti-ship ballistic missiles flying the Greek flag in the Red Sea, without being aware of such consequences. Of course, the world public has to react to this and sends its warships into the Red Sea and the Suez Canal. Finally, the cargo of this ship is relief supplies, which are sorely needed in this region. Above all, such attacks can only fuel the conflicts in the area instead of pacifying it. Has the thinking in the warring country called Israel already progressed so far that only weapons are allowed to do the talking, or have we finally reached the point where people sit down at a table and come to peace solutions? If there is not a different view of what is happening soon, there will be escalations in this area that should be avoided. The idea that they can defeat Hamas with weapons is unreal. This has already been shown in the past. If, in the same breath, one states that a two-state solution is not possible, one wonders what the alternative is? Where the Houthi militias will have the anti-ship missiles is also the question. But apparently, as on the whole planet, there is only an armament and the focus is on the increase of money. Whether such tendencies benefit the globe is more than questionable.

Crazy bastard

This is how the Russian president was called by the American. So it was articulated at a meeting with donors of the Democratic Party in San Francisco. He meant that climate change is the "existential threat to humanity" despite the "crazy bastard Putin". It may well be that such a statement is not exactly worthy of a president of the largest democracy, but to some extent one should be able to agree with it. War is being waged with the neighbouring state and certainly a lot of exhaust fumes are being blown into the air from tanks, for example, regardless of how much such actions pollute our climate. But such an aggressor ignores everything just to pacify his hunger for power. This certainly applies not only to Russia, but also to several countries. The only thing that matters to such people is that they get closer to a supposed victory, no matter what the climate expects. As long as such people are in charge again and again, the climate issue will be postponed again and again. Just an increase in global warming will certainly not be done with such tendencies. Whether such despots are aware of this cannot be assumed.

Green Deal just a wish

Months ago, a certain Green Deal was announced by the President of the Commission of the Union and defined as a milestone in terms of the burden on the climate. Now, however, it is precisely this person who is rowing back a bit. Part of this announcement was that combustion engines can still be installed in vehicles until 2040, and then only cars without diesel or gasoline engines will be allowed on the market after that. But apparently they are once again genuflecting to various lobbies, such as the automotive industry or oil-producing states. It's just that there are still 16 years to go until this end date, and you should be able to assume that the industry can adapt to it. Global warming is no longer giving us time to get anything done. It's just that politicians make proposals again and again, and row back for a while. However, it is also the case again and again that the manufacturing industry is much more flexible than politics. However, they are the only ones who demand clear guidelines from the politicians and not: We can be or will look at it. After all, car manufacturers also need clear guidelines, because such changes do not work overnight. But it's also the case that in China, you're probably much further along than in the rest of the world.

Anniversary of the war in Ukraine

There is hardly anything to celebrate. When tens of thousands of people take to the streets and demonstrate for Ukraine as well as plead for an end to the war, this certainly leaves this ruler untouched. A country was attacked under the pretext of denazification, but where were they in this state? One could almost assume that a single person is only using it as an excuse to satisfy his own lust for power. It's just that not only is an entire country being destroyed, but a huge number of soldiers are being sent to war, who then only return to death. As long as such rulers have the floor, and this applies not only to Russia, but also to other rainers who seem to have landed in a bloodlust. Again and again the population has to suffer, because such rulers have already secured themselves as far as their lives are concerned. But you can also observe on this globe that individual people are granted too much power and then they don't know how to cement it. There are much more pressing problems on this planet that should be solved very soon, just think of global warming. Such armed conflict will certainly blow even more pollutants into the air, which will then lead to such a warming of the climate. The people on this earth, and one could already think that this is up to 100 percent, want to live in peace and not fear for their lives because of such people.

Lukashenko and his democracy

In Belarus, the people are called to the election of the parliament and thus believe that they are a democratic country. But what selection is offered? A single party of President Lukashenko and no alternative. Is that what we call democracy? This person has already excluded the opposition in the run-up to such an election and reacted with reprisals and arrests of opposition members. Not only has he trimmed everything to his line and ideas, but the executive branch is also rigorously cracking down to enforce the president's line. Apparently, however, even this man is certainly not aware that such a leadership has an expiration date. The only question is, what happens when the population goes to the barricades? For example, the "brother state" Russia, on which Belarus is dependent, comes to the rescue. Considering the ambitions of the Russian president, this is a scenario that could also happen. You can't declare the citizen stupid forever just to satisfy his own hunger for power. Aren't there enough trouble spots at the moment? But, if you look at the current wars as well as conflicts, there are always individual people setting the direction and meaning that the people will go along with it.

Youth in power

When it came to an election of the Green Party in Austria last weekend, then the young people were finally thought of. A 23-year-old was named the top candidate of the "Greens" for the upcoming EU elections with 96 percent. It may be that this is too young a person for such a position, but at some point the older generation should also step back and give way to the youth. After all, it's about their future and there's certainly a lot to tackle. Even the young ones will make mistakes again and again, only the older ones have certainly known everything from the beginning and have not always made the right decisions. In this way, young people should also be allowed to have a say in their future, even if they cannot always agree.

Deployment of ground troops in Ukraine?

In order to support Ukraine in its defensive struggle against Russia, French President Emmanuel Macron no longer rules out the use of ground troops by his country. He said this on the sidelines of a Ukraine aid conference in Paris. There is no question that this will further provoke the aggressor. But how can you stop such a person? However, the whole thing should also be taken with a pinch of salt. One possible reaction from Russia is certainly an even greater commitment to this conflict, up to and including the use of a "limited nuclear strike". What happens next? France is a member of NATO, so other members of this defense alliance may feel compelled to send ground troops to Ukraine as well. And what comes next, perhaps a new world war? Only the weapon potential in terms of both conventional and nuclear warheads is so great that this planet could be destroyed umpteen times over. There must be other ways and means to get such aggressors under control, not only in Ukraine, but also in other regions.

Peasant protests in Belgium

Such demonstrations can be seen not only in this state, but in almost all of Europe. What's going wrong? It is difficult to compare working in agriculture with other occupational groups. For example, these people have to work 7 days a week on modest incomes. In addition, satellites are sent into space to observe the work from "above" and thus tie agricultural subsidies to it. For example, it is about when this or that can be grown and much more. Now, after long and difficult negotiations, the European Union has repeatedly come up with certification standards that do not exactly apply in the rest of the world. Meat comes from South America, for example, which certainly does not meet the directives or the certificates of the Union, and it is blithely imported. Of course, the peasantry is taking to the streets to demonstrate against dumping prices for such foodstuffs. Furthermore, the EU is holding this peasantry accountable as far as the paperwork is concerned. But now we are here in this Union, 27 countries with more or less large farms and agriculture. Who says that we, as a Union, do not already check such imports at our external borders to see whether the goods also comply with EU directives? If not, such suppliers would have to sell their goods outside the Union or, what would make much more sense, adopt EU standards. This would mean that there would be no dumping prices for foodstuffs, where the European farmer would no longer be able to keep up. Another aspect of such an approach would be that these goods would not be transported halfway around the globe. Regardless of whether this is done by ship or plane, it is an enormous waste of energy and it does not protect our climate. As far as the cost of such deliveries of goods is concerned, one should take the trouble to calculate it before sending food halfway around the world, is there still rational thinking?

Macron and Putin

One can only guess what the background to the statement by France's president was. But it is also the case that the ethnic Russian population in Moldova feels threatened and has turned to Putin. He reacted promptly with a promise of support. If you then also hear the statement of Macron, who thinks that French troops can be sent to Ukraine to defend the country against the aggressor, this is dangerous. In addition, it should also be noted that the Russian president does not care about treaties that limit nuclear weapons. One could almost think that this person has still not satisfied his bloodlust and is thus driving his megalomania further, at the expense of the respective population. Furthermore, this president wants to remain in office for another 6 years, which he wants to confirm with a controversial vote. Is this already the beginning of a new world war, or can this man still be disempowered? At some point, the spiral that spirals upwards through such actions will no longer be able to be stopped, and then what? If you then test, as he has already learned, a "limited nuclear strike", whatever he meant by that.
