Summary of Brothers (David Talbot)

Introduction

The assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy were part of a tumultuous period in American history. In both cases, the official explanation – a deranged gunman acting on his own to kill his victim – seems inadequate. Indeed, The Warren Report, which represents the establishment view on the assassination of JFK, is so rife with obvious errors and omissions that it almost certainly amounts to one of the greatest frauds ever perpetrated on the American people. We may never know the true story of who killed the Kennedys and why, but examining the cultural and political current swirling around the two brothers suggests that dark forces within the U.S. government itself may have played a part in their deaths.
