About the Author

Stephen S. Roach is currently based in Hong Kong as the Chairman of Morgan Stanley Asia. He has served as the firm’s chief economist and his research on globalization, the rise of China and India on the world economic scene, and the capital market “implications of global imbalances” has made him a sought-after Wall Street leader. Roach holds a PhD in economics from New York University and was a research fellow at the Brookings Institution.
