Unholy Alliance is Horowitz’s explanation of how the radical Left has taken over the Democratic Party and formed an alliance with radical Islam against the war on terror. Comparing the partnering between the two to a modern day Hitler-Stalin pact, Horowitz addresses several key developments in history to point out how the origins of the radical Left are found in Communism and how that thought has pervaded our academic system, the mainstream political arena and the anti-war effort.
The book is written as a historical argument meant to awaken readers to the true danger that certain intellectual and political leaders and groups pose to America through their continued belief in the ideology of the Communist movement and how that belief has merged with those of radical Islam. Not just a statement of proof, Horowitz goes on to explain the unexplainable; how so many Americans can justify hating America so much.
Horowitz believes the radical Left wants America to fail in Iraq because, like radical Islam and the terrorists, they believe America is the root of all evil and can do no right. These groups pose a serious threat to America’s security by waging a war against the war on terror.
David Horowitz is a nationally known conservative author. He was one of the founders of the New Left movement in the 1960s and is currently the president of the Center for the Study of Popular Culture. He is also the founder of online newsmagazine FrontPageMag.com. David has written several books, including The Politics of Bad Faith, The Art of Political War and Radical Son, an autobiography.
After the attack on 9/11 which murdered almost 3,000 people from 80 different countries, President Bush explained to America that we were targeted for attack because we are the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity around the world. The radical Left of America believed otherwise. Like the terrorists, they believed that America had brought this on itself because of its unjust, criminal and tyrannical existence.
Within days of 9/11, the radical Left launched a campaign to protest any military response to those who had attacked us. Between September 11th and 30th, there were over 247 anti-war demonstrations and 150 “peace vigils” around the world before one shot was fired in defense of the unprovoked attack. While America, and much of the world, was still grieving and worried about another attack, the Left was preaching about the root causes of 9/11. Leading Left intellectual Susan Sontag rejected the labeling of the terrorists as cowards. She said the attack was undertaken as a consequence of American actions and alliances. Best-selling novelist Barbara Kingsolver asked, “Who are we calling terrorists here?”
