The Hideous Mammoth

It was one of nature's wondrous habitats, known for its sky-scraping tree tops, enchanting waterfalls and beautiful streams, cascading vines, hills as far as the eye can see with hidden caverns. Welcomed by flora and fauna as the fresh air fills your lungs and perk-up your senses when you become aware of the life that surrounds you. In this immense forest you'll discover and witness new things for the first time, you will come to peace and tranquility with nature, while finitely escaping the world of technology and learn what it is like to live off the land. At the forest entrance, there are roads that wind through and up the median of the precipice offering a breath-taking panorama view of the forest horizon. It's called, “The Redwood Forest” known for its redwood tree trunks, thickets, and mulch. Often explorers, hikers, and campers, who came from all around to the California state forest to view the fiery-red splendor of this enchanting forest.

Following in April of 1980, along TheRedwood Forest basin near the Eureka border, the Sterobyl Nuclear Power Plant was in full operation and employed over two thousand people but one day a very tragic incident occurred. A rapid amount of nuclear energy and gas was released that soared at a high rate of speed in the large hermetic closure causing a terrible blast. Experts said it was impossible for anyone to survive the explosion being that some of the mutilated bodies were found as many others looked like they had been incinerated. Radioactive contamination and debris scattered throughout the forest and within a few weeks, the redwood forest turned a ginger-brown in color, withered and died. Later, in a massive cleanup effort, most of the trees were bulldozed and buried in a collection of waste graveyards and still no other bodies were found but even if there were, they couldn't have survived on the land because deep beneath the soil was waste contamination, which made it impossible for any plant life to germinate.

Years past and a remarkable turn of events transpired as scientist tried to determine and understand the environmental changes in the forest. Surprisingly, the redwood forest started to replenish and flourish and a large wild and unusual collection of species moved into the forest as the biodiversity in the area greatly expanded. God's work was in the making as the forest became alive. Subsequently, there was something very horrendous that lurked within the hills of the forest and before long, sightseers and hikers began to disappear, campers started to report strange and gruesome sightings and were frightened off by what they saw, as reports of unexplained high winds that seem to stir unexpectedly along with terrifying sounds in the night.

Four young men camped out near a stream along the forest river basin when one of the young men wandered from the campsite to relieve himself when unexpectedly he felt a little uneasy and became daunted by his sudden muted surrounding. As his eyes expanse the creepy wilderness, not a sound stirred when instantly he concluded that his imagination had elevated into fright mode and there was really nothing to be afraid of as he quickly finished emptying his tightly filled bladder. While trotting back towards the campsite, a tremendous growl vibrated the forest as the earth trembled stopping him in his tracks. He avidly turned to see what caused such a seismic disturbance and shockingly in the dark, an abnormal looking creature with huge bright eyes peered down at him from the brush between the tall trees. It stood much taller than the average man, surely at least 10-feet tall. The hideous giant human life form was slightly hairy with an unusual pair of large wings that encircled it's neck and down it's back but in all, it's gruesome glory, the horrible creature resembled a giant deformed fly. The young man became terrified and cried out while running for his life when his friends heard his distress and fled to his aide. Immediately, strong hurricane winds evolved causing the young men to tumble in the brush, tossing them around like toys and demolishing their campsite then the impetus winds calmed, as the terror seemed to take flight and instantly disappeared. The men were petrified and they knew something very lurid dwelled in that forest and they needed to flee as quickly as possible before conditions become even more life threatening.

“My God, what was that thing?” They all panicked.

“It looked to be some kind of giant human insect!” Chaz spoke who witnessed the gruesome thing.

“It's true then! The tales are true!” The other mentioned.

“What's true? What the hell are you talking about Gar?” They all anticipated his response.

“Tales of some horrendous sightings of a gigantic monster in these woods! Years ago, there were some campers who never returned and their bodies were never found only the bloody trails that led nowhere.”

“What? A monster! Why in the hell didn't you tell us about all this Gar?” They all freaked.
