The Ugly Intruder

“Wow!  What a beautiful city!  I never knew Houston, Texas was so large!” Michelle observed the city’s spectacular skyline.

Keith Spencer was a young accomplished executive from Syracuse, New York who was promoted to Executive Vice President to help direct a large marketing company in Houston, Texas. He and his lovely wife, Michelle and their cute 5-year-old daughter, London had arrived from their long journey to their new home in Houston.

“Well, here we are?” Keith announced their arrival steering through the gated entrance along the tailored curved driveway towards the charming front entry of the spectacular estate.

“Oh, Keith you got to be kidding! It's beautiful!!” Michelle expressed glaring at the homes impressive tan colored Stonewood exterior.

“Wait until you see the inside.” He smiled.

“Come on sweetie! Out you go!” Helping London out of the back car seat.

“Wow!! Is this our new home Daddy?” Quite thrilled.

“Yes, it is sweetheart! Let’s go look inside!” He invited.

The interior of the new house was simply beautiful. Keith made sure the home entailed everything Michelle desired along with a few added features. There was a large game room, beautiful large built-in kitchen, and formal dining, several large bedrooms upstairs, a home spa with an outdoor pool.

“Where is my room?” London inquired.

“Your room is right over here!” He acknowledged opening the door to her adoring bedroom.

Quite amazed ambling inside noticing the built-in bookshelves for all of her dolls, stuff animals and her books. The window features were beautiful with window seats in each one. There was beautiful wall trimming of bright green, pink, yellow and white colors with a joining bathroom with a kid's garden tub and a large walk-in closet. While Keith and Michelle wandered to view the other rooms in the home, London went over and sat down in her very large closet, a perfect hiding place. She told her brown teddy bear friend of whom she held that she liked her new room and she knew that her teddy liked it too. After a while, she heard her mom and dad's immediate approach back to her bedroom, so she hurried to close the double doors of her closet to hide from them.

“Come on sweetheart let’s go get our things from the car.” Her mother called out thinking she had lingered inside her room.

“Where did she go?” Michelle asked Keith.

“Oh, she’s running around here somewhere.” Winking to Michelle both sure of her whereabouts.  They knew she loved hiding in closets.

She heard them attempt to go downstairs calling her name when she started to giggle because they couldn’t find her but isolated within the dark closure, abruptly she heard a chilling rupture. It sounded like the wall opened up and shockingly, she was spooked by the most hideous thing briskly peering out at her from the enclosure with a pale white face and gruesome dark eyes. She screamed at the sight of it when instantly her parents opened up the closet doors discovering her hideout. Graciously, she was quite relieved that they rescued her just in the nick of time as she rushed to their embrace.

“Uh huh, we found you!” Her dad rejoiced quickly picking her up to leave the room.

She trembled avidly looking back as if she'd seen a ghost but instead witnessed a little furry hand reaching out quickly closing the closet doors.
