Chant for Kṛṣṇa – From the Yamunā to the World is a heartfelt collection of spiritual poetry inspired by the timeless wisdom of Bhakti yoga. Written during a pilgrimage to sacred places such as Prayagraj and along the banks of the holy Yamunā River, these poems reflect the inner journey of devotion, remembrance, and surrender to the Supreme Lord, Śrī Kṛṣṇa. Blending poetic meditation, spiritual philosophy, and personal reflections, the author invites readers to explore the transformative power of the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra and the ancient teachings of the Vedic tradition. Each poem is accompanied by insights drawn from sacred texts such as the Bhagavad-gītā, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, and the teachings of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda. Moving between India and Europe, between the holy rivers and the streets of Paris, Chant for Kṛṣṇa reveals how spiritual sound can transform everyday life. Through chanting, reflection, and devotion, the reader is encouraged to rediscover the eternal identity of the soul and reconnect with divine love.

Invocation

May this writing be pleasing to thee,

O Absolute Truth, who's sublime beauty,

with three-bent form, glancing splendidly,

playing on the flute, in a yellow silken dhoti,

You are the Supreme Personality!

O spiritual master, I was born ignorant and blind, but by your divine grace you have been so kind.

Enlighten me on the path, so that I can find.

Please chastise me and steady my mind. Let me be your servant, eternally unwind.

O dear devotees of the Lord,

please accept my simple word,

a sound you might've never heard,

hopefully pleasing to your dear heart,

always glorifying the spiritual cowherd.

Dear reader, whoever you may be.

Please accept my service in sincerity.

I'm Dasa, just an aspiring devotee,

and with these words of poetry

may we remember the Supreme Personality.

Introduction

This album of poetry is the offspring of Inner Revolution Poetry, a garland of 108 poems for Kṛṣṇa. The first print was spotted with errors and formatting issues, still, some few humble souls took a copy to read and appreciate. Especially, His Holiness Janananda Gosvami Maharaja was in favour for this book. Other copies went to Nalini Hari Priya and her family, to a young college student I met on the way to Prayag and my dear Godbrother Vedasara Prabhu.

Writing poetry has become natural to me, just like singing or dancing. It's one of the arts that fulfills the soul. In the spiritual world, so it is said, every word is a song and every step a dance.

The use of poetry is twofold. One can appreciate words that rhyme easily. Another use is to conserve an experience in an accessible way. Poetry keeps the membrane of experiences intact and nurtures the memory.

By remembering, reciting and hearing poetry one becomes touched. Poems are easier to remember than other writings, so are all Vedic texts conserved in poetry. Inspired by the great works of Vedavyasa, like Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, I pursue to create something that is pleasing to the devotees of Lord Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa is God. He is my All-attractive and worshipable deity, a personality I know better than anyone, yet I also know, that I don't know Him at all. He is a transcendental magician, a trickster and unfathomable mystic. He's the greatest lover and kindest friend. He's protecting like a father and well-wishing like a mother. He is the supreme truth, the abode of all good fortune and reservoir of all pleasures.

Actually, writing for Kṛṣṇa is the greatest pleasure. It's incomparable, how, when meditating on the Holy Names of the Lord, words flow into my heart and overflood the gates of my conscience. In just a few moments, a picture of poetry arises and longs to be expressed. By acknowledging this transcendental download, one saves the spiritual data on a notepad and makes it accessible for others. That's the greatest gift I have received.

Thanks to the mercy of my spiritual masters, this gift has sprouted into the ability to form books and teachings that are nurturing and guiding. I want to look back at my life, now that I'm getting older and older, and see that I have not wasted my time in making money or assuming position, but I have rendered a service for so many generations to come.

The service includes formatting the writing, printing and distributing it. This process is called Saṅkīrtana. First we chant the glories of the Lord, then we distribute them and finally we receive mercy to continue this devotional service. Mercy is the prime currency of Kṛṣṇa Consciousness.

Without His mercy nothing moves, nor can words of poetry manifest. It's simply by the mercy of the spiritual masters and Kṛṣṇa that this book has come about.

Like always, I truly apologise for any discrepancy in language, wording, thought or deed. I'm a fallen soul, conditioned and impure.

My life has been full of mistakes and I have no right to claim anything except for a little mercy. As it is stated in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 1.5.10-11:

“Those words which do not describe the glories of the Lord, who alone can sanctify the atmosphere of the
