Beschreibung

These essays are for the devotees of the Lord, for my spiritual master and His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami. According to the Vedic tradition a word which does not glorify the Absolute Truth is like a place of pilgrimage for crows, but words that describe the glories of the unlimited Lord are praiseworthy, even though imperfectly composed. I have to admit my struggles in this human form of life, but by the mercy of the Vaishnavas, Guru & Gauranga, I could taste a little nectar of spiritual life. For the pleasure of the parampara, I am writing my realisations, to please thee. "By writing according to our realization we become more and more convinced and all doubts are destroyed." (Letter to Pusta Kṛṣṇa) Over the last ten years writing about traveling to holy places and experiencing an inner revolution of the heart by associating with saintly persons, writing helped to shape and support this inner transformation. "May Krishna bless you to improve more and more in writing the glories of our previous acaryas and the Lord. Be engaged in glorifying the parampara system and your life will be glorified automatically thousands of times." (Letter to Acyutananda) For the pleasure of my Guru I'd like to address difficult topics concerning the chanting of the Holy Name of the Lord, controlling the mind & senses, as well as spreading this matchless gift of Kṛṣṇa Consciousness, to help the coming generations to learn from mistakes and challenges.

“Realization means you should write, every one of you, what is your realization. What for this Back to Godhead is? You write your realization, what you have realized about Kṛṣṇa. That is required. It is not passive. Always you should be active. Whenever you find time, you write. Never mind, two lines, four lines, but you write your realization. Śravaṇaṁ kīrtanam, writing or offering prayers, glories. This is one of the function of the Vaiṣṇava. You are hearing, but you have to write also. Then write means smaraṇam, remembering what you have heard from your spiritual master, from the scripture. Śravaṇaṁ kīrtanaṁ viṣṇoḥ: (SB 7.5.23) about Viṣṇu, not for others. Don't write any nonsense thing for any nonsense man. Useless waste of time. Viṣṇu. Write about Viṣṇu, Kṛṣṇa.”

(Śrīla Prabhupāda - Lecture on Brahma-samhita, Verse 32 Excerpt -- Los Angeles, August 14, 1972)

Dedication

To Śrīla Prabhupāda, the lineage of spiritual teachers,

Śrī Guru and Gauranga.

Foreword

“By writing according to our realization we become more and more convinced and all doubts are destroyed.” (Letter to Pusta Kṛṣṇa)

Over the last ten years writing about traveling to holy places and experiencing an inner revolution of the heart by associating with saintly persons, writing helped to shape and support this inner transformation.

“May Krishna bless you to improve more and more in writing the glories of our previous acaryas and the Lord. Be engaged in glorifying the parampara system and your life will be glorified automatically thousands of times.” (Letter to Acyutananda)

For the pleasure of my Guru I'd like to address difficult topics concerning the chanting of the Holy Name of the Lord, controlling the mind & senses, as well as spreading this matchless gift of Kṛṣṇa Consciousness, to help the coming generations to learn from mistakes and challenges.

In the first essay I'll address the youth and coming generations which are like an enthusiastically glittering light in the tunnel of illusionary darkness.

Preaching Power

According to the advice of Śrīla Prabhupāda and my initiating spiritual master, Kadamba Kanana Swami, I am writing this essay, especially to address the coming generations of spiritualists in the Hare Kṛṣṇa movement.

You are the bright light of hope in this dark forest of material light. Your kirtans are exuberant because since childhood you have been learning how to sing Hare Kṛṣṇa. The Maha-Mantra is your life and soul, the spiritual friend and companion. Śrīla Sanatana would say: O Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, my only friend and companion. For you it's the Holy Name. Your chanting lets me hope that this world can prosper as a community of devotees of the Lord. You are world-open, globalised and interested in the newest trends and technologies. Your age of information is what interests you and you know all about quantum mechanics, neuroscience and space travel. Somehow or other, you maintained your roots of spiritual values. That is the wonderful achievement of your parents and guides. Please, stick to your spiritual roots and nurture the world by chanting and sharing prasadam. Seeing you engaged in preparing food for Radha Madana Mohan is impressive and heart-warming. The cooking parampara is as old as the Vedas. The preparations are full of flavour, and spiritual feelings. The taste of your service must be relished and shared all over the world. This is the secret weapon. As you told me, I could understand that many of you came back to the movement by the means of spiritual food. This movement is based on prasadam, as Śrila Prabhupāda would invite everyone to eat to their heart's content. Like a father nourished his children, we grew into this movement by the mercy of him and other renowned Vaishnavas. In your eyes, I may be only a mleccha, or foreigner, but by the mercy of my spiritual master I took initiation to leave my material life behind, and to be born again. The spiritual birth is from the spiritual father and the scriptures. Here you have it. Make your life successful and follow the discipline by regularly chanting, preaching and feasting.
