Confessions of an erotic Writer

More than a decade of working in a bookshop I had read about everything with a bit of nudity in it, I found the most arousing classic novels and most boring contemporary stories: about the ubiquitous millionaire's son and his chamber maid, about the handsome handyman, cute but dumb as a box of hammers! Nowadays in the digital age nearly everybody is an erotic writer but most of them are sadly lacking the quality to convince, all the protagonists are in their mid twenties and still trying to be romantic! Most erotic stories are written in the third person, a literary form, which is making it nearly impossible to transport personal feelings and hidden emotions - I see this as a form of cowardice and definitely as a detriment of the sensuality!

I'm well aware, that all the subjects in my novels should be at least eighteen years old and hold a valid international passport, and whatever sexual had happened before that date has to be ignored by law. Prince Narmer was fifteen years old when he became the first pharaoh of Egypt five thousand years ago and had still no driver's license, Romeo an Juliet were still too young to vote for piece when they began their classic love affair - the African girls get married with only twelve years old and in some tribes the boys practice sex from the time they get it up! Since the old and grey priests and politicians had taken up to tell us how we have to live every young lover is a criminal and anyone who tells their stories a pedophile - isn't that a healthy attitude?

We are pretending to care about our children or the next generation whilst we drive them to school in a stinky four-wheel-drive, we are accepting to get our children stabbed with vaccines nobody had ever found out, what's in it and why, we turn a blind eye to the starving children in the ongoing wars around the world, ignore the cruel habits of genital mutilation and the thriving business of selling child brides to the fanatics! But we do still pretend to care a bit - mostly about the decency of the neighbours and their friends, about all the people we don't see in church on Sunday morning! It's against our religion to talk about the moral and sexual problems of growing up, we try to hatch our youth within the same prudent rules of our own upbringing.

The erotic publishers seem convinced, that sex and humour won't mix, but in my opinion: sex without a good laugh is just fornication and sex without a smile mere rape - and I remember plenty of funny erotic stories from my own youth: the silly things we did in the boyscout camps and under the staircase at the monastery school! I was rejected from high school for bad results in French and Latin: I was interested in girls and there were plenty of them around - having sex hadn't been the real motivation: I had rather been interested in the more exciting details like kissing and petting. The fact, that I didn't had intercourse before I was nineteen may underline that confession: the time before the first sexual encounter was definitely the most exciting one!
