Chapter One

The morning touched the low end of the sky as the people strolled about on the pier. The soft warm airs of the ocean touched a man’s lips as he turned to pull out cigarette. His thin framed face, chiseled features, pale skin, hair slicked back, and lean body leaned against the railings as he puffed in his cigarette. He stood tall and turned to flick the bud into the waves. He sighed as she moved and looked at the sun reaching up. He was young and carried himself as an old soul, yet troubled by the day’s events that would lead up. Many people walked by him as he brushed through the crowd. The young man turned and stuck his hands into his pocket as he felt the warm water touch his face. He smirked as he walked into the restaurant named ‘Lindsey’s Hut.’

Some people moved passed him as he waved to them and entered through the back of the kitchen to an office. The young man turned and sat down as he looked up to see plaques on his wall in the stylized office made of wood themed colorings. He glanced over some papers at this desk as he peeked over the menu for the day. A woman with long legs, a small waist and a petite form. She had long hair draped in curls and she flicked her fingers as she stood in doorframe. Her luscious red lips stood out prominently as she ran a hand through her hair. She glared at the man or a second as he continued to ignore her as she stood there. The young woman had pale skin, green eyes that construed to the man’s brown eyes that were filled with omission.

“Joseph Lindsey are you going to ignore me?” she muttered.

He turned to look up at her, “why of course not Vanna.”

She rolled her eyes as stood there, “the orders have come, and I wanted to know if you had them checked yet?”

He leaned back in a chair and shook his head, “I haven’t checked the new orders because I just got into the office. When I have looked into it. I will tell you. “

Vanna crossed her arms as she turned to look at the clock that hung on the wall, “it’s almost time to get this place up.”

“By the ocean pier and we have the hottest spot. This has been in the family for four generations.” He leaned back into his chair a hung his hands over the chair to look at her really good, “I’m the next in line. My parents handed it over to me for a reason.”

Vanna smiled slightly and started to turn, “let me know when you look at the menu. I have some new creative ideas that I want you to get a really good look at. I made the new recipes myself.”

Joseph smirked then moved his hands back to pick up the documents to read, “I will, Vanna.”

The ocean breeze flowed in through the establishment as several tables were near it. Pastel colors adorned the walls with a classic look of the ocean. Vanilla candles were set in he corners of the restaurant A piano was in the center with a microphone staged near it. The floors were stone mixed with marble coloring. The place felt romantic with an ocean sense of rustic center piece with a jazz feel. The colors were sharp and poetic. Several employees moved about in the fine dining restaurant. Heels sound hard against the floors. The employees continue to buzz about as light music soon played. The sounds of the heels sounded more swiftly moving into the kitchen. The other employees tighten some of their clothes looking up to see Vanna.
