Far be it from me to attack anyone or judge anyone here. Rather, it is my view of things, as I interpret it below. It may be that one or the other thinks that would be a radical view of things. But sometimes it feels like I'm burying my head in the sand. If you don't react, it will resolve itself. I think this thread runs through the entire text. As I said, this is not patronizing anyone, but rather my opinion on various things at home and abroad.

Foreword

Far be it from me to attack or judge anyone here. Rather, it is my view of things, as I interpret it below. It may well be that one or the other thinks that this is a radical view of things. But sometimes it seems to me that you bury your head in the sand. Not reacting will resolve itself. I think this thread runs through the whole of the Scriptures. As I said, this is not paternalism of anyone, but my opinion on various things at home and abroad.

Erdogan's defeat in the local elections

It seems to be shown again and again that governing without the people is not feasible. This is what we see after the elections in Turkey. In the beginning, this same president wanted to reunite the separation between church and state in the sense of an Islamic state. However, this attempt failed. It may well be that he has made a difference in his country at the beginning of his term of office, but what is the current situation? The population has to deal with an enormous inflation of a good 67 percent. This means, for example, that citizens have to fight for their life’s day after day in the face of such price increases. Even in the areas where there have been earthquakes in the first place, people are turning away from it, because why there are so many buildings and infrastructure still needs to be clarified. This is the only thing that is being withheld from the citizen. Under such conditions, it is therefore not surprising that the incumbent presidents have been given a lesson. But it is always the case that individual people think that they only have to enforce their own opinion and forget about the people. You can't ignore the mood of the population, because sooner or later, they will fight back. Whether this vote of the Turkish people will result in a rethink, however, is once again another matter.

Seven employees of the NGO World Central Kitchen killed

How far does the bloodlust go? People are being killed who want to help others, even though the Israeli military has been told that it is a humanitarian transport. In addition, this convoy has also been designated accordingly. People are committed to providing basic foodstuffs to the needy population and have to pay with their lives. Even if Israel repeatedly propagates the eradication of Hamas, this is an illusion, as history has shown us time and again. It's astonishing that you can't sit down at a table and finally think about a 2-state solution after decades. The bloodlust of some of those involved in this conflict has already gone so far that it is not limited to the Gaza Strip, but rather that neighbouring states are also being dragged into it. Is this really supposed to ignite a conflagration that can certainly spread to the rest of the world?

Do we need NATO (North Atlantic Defence Alliance)?

These days, this alliance is being celebrated on the occasion of its 75th anniversary. In view of the current situation, it seems inevitable that there will be more accessions. When this was completed, the ulterior motive was to contrast the Warsaw Pact with a counterpart. This has certainly proven itself over years and decades, but time has changed. In the meantime, some states have changed course. But the reasons for this are also understandable when you look at the various conflicts and wars. Just imagine if NATO did not exist as it is today. One can assume that the world order would look different. If there were also democracies that have stood the test of time over thousands of years. At the moment, it looks as if this alliance is granting us peace, at least in the Member States. But if you can follow the sayings of a former president, the percentage, because the individual member states invest too little in defence. This person is demanding that individual states invest at least 2 percent in defence with the threat of not following the duty to provide assistance in an emergency. It is, however, somewhat absurd that such sums should be made available, when there are much more important problems in the individual states which also require more funds. Now, however, NATO cannot unilaterally reduce its defence budget if at the same time an aggressor, like Putin, increases its spending on the military. How far can you go?

New President in Slovakia

After the run-off election, Peter Pellegrini was elected President of Slovakia. But what will change in this country? On the one hand, he is a favorite of the ruling party, on the other hand, he leaves no doubt that he supports Russia and its actions. In addition, he does not want to send weapons to Ukraine. How should we see this in the EU? In Poland, for example, a party was voted out of office that was too close to the aggressor Putin, and now there is again a party and a president who do not exactly deny Russia's actions. Is there perhaps another alliance in the Union that does not exactly condemn Russia's war of aggression? After all, we already have a president in the EU who believes that he can always prevent a lot of things out of consideration for the friendly state of Russia. However, this Union is already a little sluggish when one thinks of legislative proposals and their implementation. There is now also a country where one can assume that they will prevent some things through their veto. It is only the case, if you look at the geographical location of this state, that it is also a neighboring state of Ukraine. If Putin really achieves his goals in Ukraine, it can be assumed that he will also attack other states. The attitude of the rulers in Slovakia is probably of little help, because as we hope this despot in Russia has said something that has caused exactly the opposite. That's right, the vote of the sovereign is to be accepted, even if this is not recognized by all office holders, see the USA.

Floods in Russia

Due to snowmelt and large amounts of rain, flooding occurred in Russia. Now you could say that this is a natural disaster, which is true. The state spends about 40 percent of government spending on weapons production, meaning to stimulate the economy. Only such disasters could be avoided if aggressors did not appear again and again and think that something can only be achieved by force of arms. It is precisely this percentage that is missing when it comes to securing and building new infrastructure. Such people prefer to invest in the production of weapons, forgetting about the suffering of this population in this part of Russia. Tens of thousands of people become homeless from one moment to the next and the leadership looks on. If there is not soon a change in thinking in the minds of some decision-makers, one can already imagine that this can hardly be expected of the individual citizen for very long and that he climbs the barricades. At the moment, the executive branch is still behind this despot, but when will it be over and then?

European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg

This court has come to the conclusion that a lawsuit brought by 2000 senior citizens from Switzerland will be upheld. The reasoning for this judgment states that Switzerland is in default and has breached its "positive duty to protect". It is recognized as a violation of the Convention on Human Rights. It can be observed that there is a lot going on in the population. At first, it was Generation Z who fought back with their actions, and now the elderly are also gaining momentum. One can assume that both groups are right, because after all, it is about their existence on this planet and not exactly about profit maximization. Whether the actions of young people are perceived as right when they glue themselves to the streets is another aspect, but the decision-makers react in time, or is there only a discussion about how to counteract them. One might think that those in power should listen much more to their people and do something about global warming very quickly. Natural disasters as well as global warming are not waiting for political decisions. The spiral of escalation in this regard is turning faster and faster and will only increase if rigorous decisions are not made. Politicians and other decision-makers should finally react very quickly, because now we may still have it under control to counteract this.

Historic or not?

Stricter laws are being passed in the Union to stem the flow of refugees, but how effective are they? You can talk everything up, but the facts are different. Since 2015, there has been a discussion about how to stem this flow, but has it changed? Last year, around one million people started the journey from Africa to Europe and ended up in refugee camps within the EU. There, for months and years, it is examined whether this person has any right to settle on our continent at all. Isn't it too late and don't we give these people false hopes? If some people think that these people should not get that far in the first place, then they should be supported in their countries of origin, that is certainly an approach. But how does the Union deal with such proposals? Billions are being sent to North Africa to prevent refugees from continuing their journey to Europe by locking them up in camps. However, this should not lead to anything except expenses. Could it be that the history of Europe is revealed here, how this continent has been dealt with for centuries, as far as the colonies were concerned, for example? These countries have been more or less starved and gutted, and they are surprised that the people of these countries think they have a better life in the Union. But even in the present day, these countries are not exactly treated gently when one thinks of the disposal of various mills.

Germany makes it easier to change gender entries at the office

What's going on with our neighbouring state? This country has already distinguished itself as a pioneer of "gendering". Then came the recent legalization of cannabis use, and now this. After a sometimes highly emotional debate, the German Bundestag has given the green light to the government's new self-determination law. Aforesaid. The new law is intended to make it easier to have one's gender entry and first name changed at public offices. Don't those in power have anything more important to do than to discuss and pass laws? The state has always been considered one of the largest economies on our planet and what does it look like today? It gets sick and you talk about things that are certainly dispensable and the other problems are ignored. It's just that such an attitude applies not only to this country, but to many other countries. So we shouldn't be surprised if there are tendencies in the population that are moving to the right. This can mean nothing other than that the decision-makers prefer to rub up against unimportant problems rather than solve the problems at hand. Whether this is in the interest of the citizen or not is shown by the citizen when he casts his vote. It's just that tendencies as well as crises remain, so ignoring them hardly helps. Such an approach can only fuel the current to left or right movements, and then what?

Waste of money without limits

When you hear that last weekend's conflict cost more than 2 billion in total on both sides, you can only wonder. On the one hand, it was about defending against drones and missiles and, of course, about the costs of such an attack on Israel from Iran. It's true, every sovereign state has the right to defend its territory, but today the only thing that speaks is weapons and destruction. There are millions of people on this continent of Africa who are facing starvation, and then tens of billions are shot into the air for a few hours. How absurd is that? Should there be a world economic crisis after the end of such conflicts? However, such conditions can be observed not only in this region, but also in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. There, 40 percent of economic output is already being pumped into the war without being aware of its consequences, if you look at the floods in the Ural region, for example, where it is apparently not so important to invest in infrastructure. It is better to make war and forget about things that belong to the citizen.

Sanctions Fair

America wants to introduce further sanctions against Iran and the EU is already thinking about it. In recent years, it has become clear that such actions have very little effect. How many sanctions have been decided against the aggressor Russia and as you can see, their economy continues to grow, even if a large part of it flows into the arms industry. In this context, as always, the question arises as to how such sanctioned states gain the knowledge of the production of such weapons. Furthermore, it should also be noted that not all of the components can be produced in one's own country. So you are also dependent on components and knowledge from abroad. Yes, of course, this can be used to promote the arms industry. Again and again, however, it is the population that suffers from such sanctions, and not precisely those for whom it would be intended, namely those in power. It should finally be time to rethink whether to push one's own industry and, on the other hand, to impose sanctions on various countries that are hardly expedient. The money needed for this would probably be better used in other areas.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and peace?

The fact that one can hear reports from this country again and again that do not reflect reality is nothing new. But when a foreign minister then comments on what the current Ukraine could look like after the special operation, this is more than questionable. For years, you let your "boss" do as you pleased, and you still watched. For such people, too, the well-being of one's own population should be the top priority and not one's own. Now the attack on the neighboring state has not brought what Putin had imagined, and now people are already thinking about how to divide this country. Hasn't enough financial resources already been "burned" and how many more people are supposed to lose their lives until this "madness" is finally stopped? But as you can see, this president is not the only one who can gain something from such illusions of integration into the Russian Federation. What is the opinion of the sovereign in his own country? Yes, of course, only what is beneficial to this despot is communicated. This means nothing other than abusing the media to push through one's own views.

61 billion and can it be even more?

There is certainly no question that Ukraine has to defend its territory, but how far can it go. The funds are released for the attacked country only to continue defending itself against the aggressor, overlooking the effect of such amounts. On the one hand, this fuels the escalation even further and burns up the money, which apparently only exists "on paper". Aren't there far more pressing problems on this planet, such as climate change and global warming? Do you have to put everything into the armaments industry to prove that you are the "stronger" one? Even in Ukraine, more than half of the country's domestic product is already being invested in the war between Russia and this state. But if you look at natural disasters, such as the floods in Russia or China, it is more than worrying how unreal approaches are being subsidized. It almost looks as if those in power are only thinking about war and letting this planet go to the dogs. But if you listen to the population, you are certainly not interested in promoting such wars with enormous financial resources. One can imagine that the individual citizen would much rather live in peace, but this is also heard by the decision-makers? Almost every day there are reports that show us how far the earth is already dying, whether these are floods or other environmental disasters. When will such power-hungry leaders be put in their place or their decision-making authority restricted? The citizen wants to live in peace and not have to listen day after day to how much money is put into wars. At some point, it will no longer be reasonable for the citizen and he will react to it, whatever this will look like.

Espionage more than ever?

It was always thought that espionage was in high season during the Cold War, but isn't it more current than it was then? Various agents in Austria and Germany are unmasked and think they are well armed. But what is the point of such activities at all? Is it not possible to use a legal way, or have we already reached the point where we want to conceal such actions from the public? The background is once again a financial one, as is so often the case, but as a consequence the security of a country could also be affected by such activities. If you then look at the individual authorities that deal with this matter, you are not sure how far they will react. One example is the ignorance by Israeli intelligence of Hamas' actions on October 7. There were indications of terrorist activities, but the respective secret services paid too little attention to them. That's right, for such services, references to certain deeds are not exactly easy to obtain. Whether the massacre in Israel could have been prevented by paying more attention to such tips is not easy to answer. Perhaps this action on the part of Hamas could have been restricted or perhaps even prevented. Is it already clear for every ruler of a sovereign country that state security should come first, but can this also be guaranteed by various secret services?

Demonstrations in America

How to look at this? In the U.S., students at elite universities are taking to the streets to demonstrate for the Palestinians. But does such a move really come out of the blue? It may well be that one would like to assign such actions to the left or right fringe, but one can assume that this has hardly anything to do with politics. Is it not much more the reaction to the ongoing hostilities carried out by the Israeli government in the Gaza Strip, with enormous violence? You don't have to dig up plots from earlier times. Above all, what about talks and negotiations between the warring parties? There are demands on both sides that are unlikely to be met by the other, similar to the further conflict in Ukraine. It is also more than doubtful that they want to wipe out Hamas, as Israel suggests. As far as a 2-state solution is concerned, we are also very far away. Actually, this only means that we finally return to the negotiating table, and this applies to both conflicts, before it would come to wildfires, as feared. But if there is always support from various sides, it will hardly be possible to end such acts of war. It is only interesting to observe how the individual states put money into the arms industry, apparently without limit. Aren't there more sensible investments? Are there even the billions and now also the trillions that are being burned in the truest sense of the word, which would certainly plunge the world economy into an economic crisis as a result?

Our Europe is mortal

This is how the President of France Macron formulated the state of Europe, and apparently this does not only mean the Union. He proved that his statements could not always be followed with the statement that NATO troops should take part in the conflict in Ukraine. If, however, he thinks so, and will thus again stir up further discussions, it is difficult to negate this statement. For years, Europe has been at the mercy of the United States and Russia, and there has hardly been any strengthening against these two powers. Now, however, the world order has changed due to various wars and conflicts and Europe is once again watching. For example, the curvature of bananas is thought about and much larger problems or decisions are put on the back burner. Now this continent should finally get going, because the world looks different today than it did decades ago. In the meantime, China and India have also defined themselves as world powers, and what is Europe doing about it? There is so much potential on our continent that we should only encourage it and we don't have to wait until one of the 4 great powers shows us how it's done. But if there are always states in the EU that more or less only want their national interests to be safeguarded, then there will certainly be no counterpoint to the great powers. Whether this concerns economic or political decisions, these decision-makers of the Union should also realise that Europe should be strengthened in this day and age and not put its own interests first. Perhaps it would also be a way, if there were 5 great powers, that one would come to peace on this planet again.

Supply Chain Directive (CS3D)

This law is to be submitted to the EU Parliament next Wednesday for a vote. Is it the case that a lot of activities from the past are taking revenge? One could argue that production in the Western world would be too expensive and it was therefore decided to carry out this production abroad. Whether a cost-benefit calculation has been made is very questionable. The components or knowledge of production also had to be exported to these countries. What about the manufactured products that are needed in the Western world? So, if you add up the costs that would have preceded domestic production and the costs of production abroad, you might think that domestic production would probably have been cheaper. Of course, producers abroad are trying to make the products as cheap as possible. In return, however, they have resorted to cheap labour. As far as working conditions in these countries are concerned, they certainly cannot be compared with ours. Now, however, it is assumed that the Union will hold European companies and corporations accountable as far as these working conditions are concerned. Whether this bill for a law makes sense may be very doubtful. One can already imagine that domestic producers want to save themselves further costs incurred by such requirements. Perhaps this bill will make sense again if these companies decide to produce domestically. It would have the advantage that it would probably lead to a reduction in the number of unemployed. Another aspect of the whole thing would be that the climate would be much better protected if transports of more than 1,000 kilometers were reduced. From all sides, one should not always think only about how to maximize one's profit.

A Gallic village rehearses insurrection

No, you're not exactly in a popular comic, but at least you're in France. There, the mayor and his municipal council want to obtain an ordinance that smartphones and mobile phones are not allowed in public places in the municipality. How far has society come? Again and again, the legislator has to hold out when it comes to fundamental attitudes towards the environment. You can see again and again how distracted you are from your surroundings when you don't just stare at your smartphone and maybe even close your ears with "plugs". One should be able to assume that when one moves in public, it also needs one's attention. One wonders why the "authorities" have to take action when it comes to self-evident everyday things. Have we reached the point where simple things are hidden just to be online again and again? If you also look at the statistics, in France, for example, you spend an average of 4 hours on the "net" every day. It may be that this technology contains a lot of positive aspects, but one could also pursue this with moderation and purpose, or has the environment already become so uninteresting that we have to absorb all statements on such media. In this specific case, this is only a proposal from this small community of about 2,000 inhabitants, as it is once again failing due to the legal framework. It should also work without a legislator, but for this to happen, each individual would have to analyze his or her activities to see if they are necessary.

AI (Artificial Intelligence) and New Weapons

It should come as no surprise that drones are being used in both conflicts – Israel and Ukraine. It may well be that one's own soldiers are saved from death, but where is the research of artificial intelligence going? Isn't it enough that you can wipe out this planet umpteen times over with the already existing nuclear arsenal? But apparently, once again, the hunting instinct of the individual comes into play. Research and science are encouraged to make use of such "killing machines" instead of using this technology or knowledge of AI more sensibly. Have you already reached the point where you only ever think about killing and push more important problems aside? It would be much more efficient to use such achievements in climate research, for example, than to always think about how to kill the other person. Even if the existing nuclear weapons potential is not used, because it represents a certain deterrent, it is very worrying to create a further destructive potential. If you look at the opinion of the population, a large part is in favor of a peaceful life and togetherness. This should also give food for thought to those people who deal with such thoughts of AI-controlled weapons.
