Whether this will still be a planet worth living on in the future is something we can only speculate on. But I would like to point out here what I think is currently going in the wrong direction. Whether this is the right view of things in politics, business and society is something I leave up to you as the reader.

Far be it from me to attack anyone here or to judge anyone. Rather, it is my view of things, as I interpret it below. It may well be that one or the other thinks that this is a radical view of things. But sometimes it seems to me that you bury your head in the sand. Not reacting will solve itself. I believe that this thread runs through the entire writing. As I said, this is not paternalism of anyone, but my opinion on various things at home and abroad.

Five years of Brexit

Eight and a half years after the referendum and five years after its implementation, Britain's departure from the EU is omnipresent on the island. Has it now happened that one had wished for this exit? Hardly. Thousands of companies on both sides of the English Channel have drawn the same conclusion from the high bureaucratic effort and the confusing fees and have restricted or abandoned mutual trade. Overall, exports of goods fell by 27 percent by the end of 2023. Overall, however, there is a clearly negative effect. This can be read from the economic data and it is doubtful whether the citizens would vote for an exit from the European Union again in the event of a new vote. Now, however, there are individual states or individuals in the Union who think they are also leaving. Are such people not aware of what they are doing in their own country? It may be that this EU is not exactly the best of the best, only this alternative with an exit would probably be fatal. The United Kingdom is showing us what is achieved by such steps. But since the current great powers want to expand and expand their dominances, one would think that one should rather strengthen the Union against such great powers and not think about exits.

Is this just the beginning? Of course, it is to be expected that these countries will also react to this. But even then you can observe that this does not exactly suit the American economy either. And as is always the case, the citizen has to foot the bill for it. If there aren't enough crises and conflicts already, you also have to bring about an unnecessary confrontation. With such actions, one endangers not only one's own economy, but also world trade and the world economy. But it's just the same as always. They flee to new areas and overlook the much more urgent concerns in their own country. One should only think of what the individual natural disasters have done in the USA and how much politics is devoted to these events. But yes, you get out of international bodies just to protect your own industry and economy, for example. It is doubtful whether the calculation will work out.
