Beschreibung

Part memoir, part philosphy, part satire. A look at life, politics and the economy in 21st century America.

A preview of one rant found in the book:

Unfettered capitalism is destroying our nation. When we have people living in tents in L.A. because they can’t afford rent yet the 1% can’t decide on which 5th mansion they want to buy, something is wrong! I am all for capitalism in moderation but the playing field must be level and it is not. We complain about our trade deals and wanting a level playing field but don’t even give our own people that. Freedom, what a joke.

The Waning

The Waning

And in the end the light slowly fades away

Nevermore to be seen, the waning has begun

Over the years they told us the climate was changing

But we would not listen to the wise

Yet here we are now in the dying time

Those fools who refused to see

Now cowed and terrified

Such is the waning

An effervescent wash of pain

Painted across your mind

The weeps and wails of the dying

This is the waning

The tipping point has come too fast

We let it slip and slide

Now in the end we do regret

In the end the waning

In the end we are no more

Journey Across the Years

It has been a long journey across the years.

Different paths, different stories.

How do you sum it all up at the end?

The memories sometimes flood my mind and at other times recedes,

like the ebb and flow of the tides.

The wounds and heartache of the times,

like a bittersweet fruit that touches your soul yet burns your mind.

Over the long path,

the side roads,

the interruptions,

the distractions,

always searching for that one road leading to home.

I’m stuck here in this town I never wanted to be in and I’m thinking what is the point!

Just end it all and be done with it.

Yet I cannot,

will not,

let myself be defeated by myself.

I will battle to the end as a Screaming Eagle and fight the good fight.

For on this side it is all you have.

At the end of it all there is only staring at the dust,

filtering through a dying sun.

Waiting for the boatman to take you home
