Journey Through the Shadowlands

It began at age 5. Shadows began creeping into my mind. Strange, mysterious, sometimes dark thoughts that I did not like creeping into my mind. That, as far as I can tell, is when the anxiety first began to manifest itself. As I got older the anxiety gradually increased and a new shadow appeared. Bipolar with recurrent depression. In 2007 at the age of 46 I was diagnosed at the Regional VA medical center. At the time I was caring for my Grandmother who suffered from severe dementia and my Father who had just undergone open-heart surgery.

Now, 13 years later I am stuck in a town I don’t want to live in. I am stuck in my Grandmother’s house since both she and my Father have passed away. The memories or ghosts of memories surround me every day.

So, I began my journey through the shadowlands.
