Invocation

oṁ ajñāna-timirāndhasya jñānāñjana-śalākayā

cakṣur unmīlitaṁ yena

tasmai śrī-gurave namaḥ

I was born in the darkest ignorance, and my spiritual master opened my eyes with the torch of knowledge. I offer my respectful obeisances unto him.

Preface

A good idea comes like a lightning, but how does one know this idea is valid, righteous and enlightening for the whole world? There needs to be a confirmation. This can only be given by a higher authority who guides one.

This higher authority is called the Caitya-Guru, the representative of the transcendental Supersoul, the spark of God localised within the heart. What that means will be duly explained.

Kṛṣṇa Consciousness means to live beyond good or evil, warm and cold, success or failure. It is definitely inspired by the Bhagavad-Gītā As it Is translated and explained by Śrīla Prabhupāda who ultimately lived beyond duality. I'm his grand-grand disciple following in his divine foot steps writing books about the spiritual science of bhakti-yoga.

In the wonderful treatise of bhakti-yoga which is fully applicable and systematic, called the Song of God or Bhagavad-Gītā (BG. 2.48), the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Śrī Kṛṣṇa Himself explains this science of yoga:

yoga-sthaḥ kuru karmāṇi

saṅgaṁ tyaktvā dhanañ-jaya

siddhy-asiddhyoḥ samo bhūtvā

samatvaṁ yoga ucyate

Yoga means equilibrium, a state of consciousness beyond success and failure, even while we are executing our duty. That state of consciousness is enlightened because we may choose to be conscious in front of the battlefield of decisions. The only aim remains to surrender to Kṛṣṇa, the Absolute Supreme Truth. This principle is proven in the Battle of Kurukshetra, told in the Mahābhārata, where Arjuna, the great warrior and prince, lost composure. His fighting spirit was absent regarding the tremendous effort, facing to kill family, friends and teachers. It wasn't a conscious decision but rather an awkward situation wherein he lost his consciousness, just as a cloud loses rain or an eye tears up. This natural occurrence may happen to anyone and everyone, but to Kṛṣṇa, who stood right next to Arjuna giving him Kṛṣṇa consciousness, a divine gift to stay beyond wrong or right decision.

In just one hour Kṛṣṇa explains a state of consciousness beyond duality, of summer and winter, pain or pleasure, success or failure. The matter rings true in all our lives.

Arjuna could understand that this consciousness was soulful, spiritual and beyond his struggle of right and wrong.

“Just behold, Pārtha, all the Kurus assembled here.”

There Arjuna could see, within the midst of the armies of both parties, his fathers, grandfathers, teachers, maternal uncles, brothers, sons, grandsons, friends, and also his fathers-in-law and well-wishers.

When the son of Kuntī, Arjuna, saw all these different grades of friends and relatives, he became overwhelmed with compassion and spoke thus.

Arjuna said: My dear Kṛṣṇa, seeing my friends and relatives present before me in such a fighting spirit, I feel the limbs of my body quivering and my mouth drying up.

My whole body is trembling, my hair is standing on end, my bow Gāṇḍīva is slipping from my hand, and my skin is burning.

I am now unable to stand here any longer. I am forgetting myself, and my mind is reeling. I see only causes of misfortune, O Kṛṣṇa, killer of the Keśī demon.

(BG. 1.25-30)

Now I am confused about my duty and have lost all composure because of miserly weakness. In this condition I am asking You to tell me for certain what is best for me. Now I am Your disciple, and a soul surrendered unto You. Please instruct me. (BG. 2.7)

The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: While speaking learned words, you are mourning for what is not worthy of grief. Those who are wise lament neither for the living nor for the dead.

Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings; nor in the future shall any of us cease to be.

As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A sober person is not bewildered by such a change.
