Dear reader, you are well invited to take part. With this book we are giving you an introduction into the program, which can be practiced daily, a whole life long. It doesn't matter how old you are, or where you are from. It is equal, what faith you have, or who you believe in. Yoga is simple and direct. The Bhakti plant just needs a little faith to grow. We will share the method of Bhakti-Yoga, following the practice of Mantra-Meditation. This is uncomplicated, free of cost and can work anywhere, at any time. Further, we will share guidance and mentorship over time, to give you the support for spiritual cultivation. This book can also work as a handbook and the science of Bhakti-Yoga can be simplified for your daily use. The philosophy is vast and can be actualised in many years of study, but with devotion one can immediately bring it to life. Furthermore, we will give locations for spiritual growth, where Bhakti-Yoga can be experienced communally. The wonderful promise of Kṛṣṇa Consciousness or Bhakti-Yoga is that anyone can practice it according to one's heart's desire, but the result is eternal.

The Golden Age awaits

avatari’ caitanya kaila dharma-pracāraṇa kali-kāle dharma — kṛṣṇa-nāma-saṅkīrtana

“In this Age of Kali, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu has descended to preach the religion of Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Therefore the

chanting of the holy names of Lord Kṛṣṇa is the religious principle for this age.” (CC Madhya-Līlā 11.98) Invocation

“Living beings who are entangled in the complicated meshes of birth and death can be freed immediately by even unconsciously chanting the holy name of Kṛṣṇa, which is feared by fear personified.”

(ŚB 1.1.14)

I offer my respectful obeisances to the Absolute Truth, Śrī

Kṛṣṇa and His representatives.

May this writing be pleasing to thee, describing the world's problems only solution, Harinam Sankirtan, which leads the individual and community into a Golden Age.

All glories to Śrī Guru and Gauranga!

Who is standing there in a threefold-bent form appearing as death personified for the atheistic rulers? Maybe the spiritual master can help us with this question. A Via Medium knows of the Absolute Truth.

Dear Readers,

In this book one learns about the fundamental principles of bhakti-yoga and how these principles free one's life completely from material suffering. In due course of time wisdom was transferred from the Supreme Person, Śrī Kṛṣṇa, to the people of this world.

“The Personality of Godhead, Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa, said: I instructed this imperishable science of yoga to the sun-god, Vivasvān, and Vivasvān instructed it to Manu, the father of mankind, and Manu in turn instructed it to Ikṣvāku.

This supreme science was thus received through the chain of disciplic succession, and the saintly kings understood it in that way. But in course of time the succession was broken, and therefore the science as it is appears to be lost.”

(BG 4.1-2)

Due to the fact that this transcendental wisdom of yoga was lost over time, now we have to remind ourselves of it and revive it again.

I am writing therefore as a messenger of the spiritual discipline of yoga, steadily engaged in serving humanity.

Recognising the importance of this transcendental wisdom, we want to invite you to learn about the Mantra-Meditation particularly. Perhaps you are already following meditation or have some knowledge of yoga, nonetheless, one can learn a lot from this book “Via Medium”.

It concerns the history of the transmission of transcendental knowledge, the mantra meditation, its technique and theology, as well as the supreme science - bhakti-yoga.

It also tells a personal story and transformative account with the Maha-Mantra meditation and how I got to know His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda, a bona fide spiritual master, receiving initiation into the spiritual discipline as a servant of Kṛṣṇa, the son of Mother Yashoda, receiving the spiritual name Yaśomatinandana Dāsa.

Śrīla Prabhupāda shed light into my dark heart and transmitted the timeless Vedic wisdom of yoga through his books and disciples to me. The devotees of Kṛṣṇa also invited me to travel to India, where I studied this art of devotional service, writing books about it in the holy places of pilgrimage, like Rādhākund, Vṛndāvana & Śrīdhāma Māyāpur, always remembering to do this service for my spiritual teachers.

May this wisdom shine, and even if not perfectly composed, find resonance in the heart of the reader.

Thank you very much.

(Disciple of His Holiness Kadamba Kanana Swami) Foreword

Bhakti-Yoga is a Via Medium to receive the divine energy from the Absolute Source, the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

Bhakti means transcendental loving service to the Supreme Person, God or Kṛṣṇa.

Yoga means unity and refers to the connection with the Absolute Truth, God or Kṛṣṇa, who is the energy, personality and source of all power.

Via Medium delineates a channel, or a path, which aligns with the Supreme Person and His energy. A medium is mainly a person, who has “a divine download link“ or the „connection to the Highest“.

Via Medium also denotes a person, who has a personal relationship with God. For example, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was an exalted Yogi, as well as a Via Medium, because

he was able to channel the transcendental knowledge of his Father, the Almighty God.

Bhakti-Yoga is also a perfect spiritual science and technique given by Kṛṣṇa, the almighty personality of Godhead, to all humans alike who are equipped with an innate receiver of that perfection, called the soul or atmā.

Living this spiritual perfection in one’s present life makes one an active medium, as everyone has this innate capacity dormant. There are infinite possibilities to live one’s spiritual mediumship; some bring forth a family, yet some educate by example, others transmit values like honesty and cleanliness, yet others write and share wisdom. However one can mediate this truth, it is just like a radio receiver tuned into the transcendental frequency of the Absolute Truth, Kṛṣṇa or God.

“Everyone is a respective medium, fully capable of channeling the Absolute Truth.”

While the individual soul is a minute receiver of the Absolute Truth, there is also the Supersoul, as explained in the Bhagavad-Gītā which is fully representing God within the heart.

“So Supersoul, Supersoul is the Supreme Lord. Supersoul is also there. They are situated together. From the Vedic Upaniṣads we get this information that two birds are sitting on one tree. The one bird is eating the fruits, and the other bird is simply witness. So witnessing bird is the Supersoul, and the bird which is enjoying and suffering of this material contamination, or attachment, that is soul. Is it clear?“

(Lecture on Śrīmad Bhagavad-Gītā 4.34, New York 1966)

This wonder we might look for our whole life, and it is rarely attained and realised, nevertheless, by the yoga teachings given by the via medium or spiritual teacher, one can see this Absolute Truth clearly.

“Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master.

Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him.

The self-realized soul can impart knowledge unto you because he has seen the truth.”

(BG 4.34)

This truth is the personal ability to awaken the innate blissful nature of the soul, cultivating knowledge of the Absolute and establishing a loving relationship with the Supreme Person.

This is the perfect self-help and welfare work for society.

By this process of bhakti-yoga one develops the ability to serve God in blissful loving ecstasy. Simultaneously, one becomes receptive to the soul's nature from within the heart to live in harmony with all souls within all living beings. The simple philosophy of bhakti-yoga is inconceivable oneness with and difference from the Absolute Truth.

This book Via Medium explains how everyone can tap into the blissful frequency of the Supreme Source by the simple method of Mantra-Meditation. With this easy practice one can actually relish the personal relationship with God, Kṛṣṇa, the Absolute Truth.

With a little practice even the most ignorant fool can learn to render service to the Supreme Person by chanting His holy Names.

In the following chapter it is explained how the author got to know a first-class devotee of the Lord and Via Medium, Śrīla Prabhupāda.

From Hippie to Happy

This book is dedicated to the process of Yoga. It was exactly 7 years ago, when I made first spiritual experiences, which led me on the path of Yoga. Not less spectacular was the journey of self-realisation back to the place, where spirituality is home: India. Here I studied the king of knowledge, the Bhagavad-Gītā, the topmost spiritual text explaining this process of Yoga as follows:

rāja-vidyā rāja-guhyaṁ

pavitram idam uttamam

pratyakṣāvagamaṁ dharmyaṁ

su-sukhaṁ kartum avyayam

This knowledge is the king of education, the most secret of all secrets. It is the purest knowledge, and because it gives direct perception of the self by realization, it is the perfection of religion. It is everlasting, and it is joyfully performed.

(Bhagavad-Gītā As It Is, 9.2)

This verse became my guideline and precept on a journey of practice and realisation for a lifetime of service. Further, I must admit that this Bhakti-Yoga practice and its practitioners have saved my life. How this came to be is narrated herein.

We are looking back to 2016. Since one year, as a high school graduate, I was happy on a search for meaning, which led me to faraway lands, where one could explore the basics of life.

Filled up by systematic education, I was ready to challenge life in order to make a “better world“.

Facing many problems, first with me, then with others and society, I observed a certain struggle for meaningless things.

People were poor in heart, unprotect, sick and frustrated.
