From the Foreword The beauty of poetry is also practical. It is said in the Vedic scripture that to be a poet is one of the divine qualities possessed by devotees of the Lord. Like an ornament it enhances the character of a person, if he is using this poetry not for own sense gratification, but for glorification of the Supreme Person. That is the only work of a poet, namely to glorify the all-attractive person, literally Kṛṣṇa. Words that do not glorify the All-attractive Person, Kṛṣṇa, are considered by saintly persons to be like places of pilgrimage for crows. Swan-like devotees who are actually residents of the kingdom of God do not derive any pleasure there. Thus, I follow in the footsteps of my spiritual teachers who were all expert poets and writers. 2016, as a believer and traveler I came to win back faith. Finding shelter with the wisdom texts of the Vedas, a doorway to self-realisation was opened. Self-realisation is nothing cheap, but the sole purpose of human existence. This human form of life is essentially meant for inquiring about the Absolute Truth. This book contains poetry collected during two years of learning the life bhakti.

Foreword

The beauty of poetry is also practical.

When this mystical door opened, I had insight into spiritual truth, substantial, enlightened and blissful. In a state of meditation this spiritual drop touched my heart and I tried to get hold of it. Expressing my experiences in words of poetry helped to channel these spiritual visions and insights.

Once I sat on the Pacific Ocean and meditated. A vast consciousness surrounded me and I felt as if I was one with that vast consciousness. Later, I came back to an individual consciousness. I would read about this oneness experience, warned that this is māyā, illusion. In retrospect, this path of illusion (Mayavada) was enlightened by the spiritual master (Prabhupāda) who felt compassion with this delusioned seeker.

In Separation of our spiritual Father

First, I heard from you,

learning how to love Krishna,

Teach me to play a song.

Love unfolds, life is true.

In honesty I find thy love,

in gratitude, I look above,

Mother Earth and Father Sky.

Sometimes, I wonder why.

In this growing up,

asking to know more,

hitting a wall,

falling to the floor.

Please, pick me up,

Place me on the path,

Let me walk alone,

Finding God in my life.

It’s a strive,

what have I done?

In lust, greed & wrath,

Giving up the home of hearts.

Goodbyes are never ending,

Eventually, we all have to pass.

We all have to travel on,

leaving for a higher home.

No pretending,

no need to confess,

Put it into a song,

Love, and sing along.

9

In the space of freedom, we find a master,a guide, representing the teachings of God,In the time of surrender, we find a foster,to take care of us and shape our life for good.

In the middle of it all is love,

Know, you are the father,

Gods blissful messenger,

Envision & look above.

Beyond the transcendental truth

is a smiling face,

a character of grace.

A personal relationship of me & you.

Mother is also there in the form of scripture,What is the right vision, a trustful aperture?

Please, O Gurudeva, it is a dark adventure,Kindly enlighten us with your lecture.

Tell us how to live and die.

Let me find out why!

Here is earth and here is sky…

Like children start to cry:

In vain and solemn longing,

I weep in existential belonging,

A crisis, the battle is over,

now, we shall be sober.

Love rules and truth will govern,

In this kingdom of divine multitude,

It was your warrior-like attitude,

Falling in the battle, full on sovereign.

In sweet Bhakti you attain the blissful state, that is all our terminus and fate,

Entrée the perfect gate,

10

Prema, God await.

At your lotus feet, we still learn to love, to trust & serve.

What we might not deserve, you gave with full heart and soul.

Let us connect to Srila Prabhupada and our Paramguru, let us travelthe world to spread the Holy Name, let us push this chariot of divinelove into every town and village.

Gurudeva would do the same.

He followed Prabhupada,

in the footsteps of the saints,

entering Krishna’s eternal game.

In Vrndavan, we come together to glorify.

You liked Srila Prabhupada’s Samadhi,

for this and many reasons we know why.

We all came for you to say Goodbye.

Now, we are alone again.

Following thy word,

We’re learning your chord,

And how to travel the world.

Let’s glorify thy name,

In service to God & Prabhupada.

Dear Gurudeva, Spiritual father,

Kadamba Kanana Swami,

How can we serve?

I thought it wise to travel & preach, like you did, Sri Chaitanya's outreach, take some books and Harinam to each.

Yes, maybe you like to hear I crossed India, and plan to cross the seven seas,

Just yesterday, I landed in Malaysia,

11

and what happened? I was asked for your order.

Blessings flow through me as you share the light,I arrived at Jagannathas Mandir just in time, for little Govardhanas Birthday Party at night.

He shone bright, and heard one of your songs.

We chanted together a tune you like to sing, one that you shared onour last Parikrama.

the mood of Kusum Sarovar and Vrndvana,It just made everyone dance, not an ordinary thing.

Your blessings have depth as deep and wide as the universe, again Iask; how can I serve?

Your grateful servant,

Yaśomatinandana dāsa

All glories to Sri Guru and Gauranga, all glories to SrilaPrabhupada

Regaining identity meant taking birth again. When the disciple is initiated into the spiritual discipline of bhakti-yoga he accepts the spiritual master as father and the scriptures as mother. This birth is nothing ordinary, because it is spiritual. We leave behind our temporary endeavour in this material existence and proceed seriously on the spiritual path, by the guidance of the Via Medium, bona fide representative of God.

It was 2016 when I left Sin City to find my spiritual master and meet him two years later. His Holiness Kadamba Kānana was very kind and offered his guidance. Another two years later I accepted the spiritual full-time, finished my material affairs and started to study the devotional scriptures of the Vedas, foremost the Bhagavad-Gītā.

My spiritual father Kadamba Kānana Swami gave me this certificate.
