Beginnings

Rev. Reginald Thaler Morton

Rev. Reginald Thaler Morton was born on August 14 1957 in Downey, California to Adriana Velina Morton (nee Thaler) and Rev. Ludwig Johnathan Morton. He had one sister Adriana Lindsay Morton (born circa 1955-56, died 2003) . He grew up on the suburban side of the city. His favorite things to do were listening to the radio and writing songs. One of his favorite musicians was Cab Calloway, which had a influence on his songwriting. He attended his father’s church at 7:00 am and also attended Sunday school at 8:30 am.

Charles Damine

Charles Damine was born as Charleston Howard Damine on 15 February 1959 in Shropshire, England to Gwendoline Harriet Damine (nee Jones) , a white English woman and Dwight Roger Damine, a Caribbean-American man from Decatur, Georgia who lived in Shropshire for a while. Charles had 1 sister named Judith Gwendoline Damine (born 1961) and 2 brothers named Johnathan Harold Damine (born 1959) and Dwight Roger Damine, Jr (born 1962, died 1987) Judith and Charles were the only two children that had dark skin. The Damine family moved to Downey, California, USA in 1961 just when Charles and Johnathan were only 2 years old. He lived on the exact same street as Reginald Thaler Morton, attended the exact same school and even went to the church owned by Reginald’s father. Charles’ favorite pastimes were playing with die-cast toy cars and listening to the radio. Charles’ favorite musician was Elvis Presley.
