Since no one knows where the reindeer came from with his bright, flashing red nose, and how it got his name, I wrote this story. Here the kids get answers to all their questions.

I dedicate this Christmas story about Rudolph and his reindeer friends to my grandson.
We have both heard a lot about »Rudolph, the reindeer with the bright flashing nose« and the original story of Robert L. May from 1939 also read.
The book, published by Applewood Books, is in my bookshelf. My grandson loves the original song »Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer« by Movie Star Gene Autry so much, that we often sang or whistled it at Christmas time. Recently, the song has been played more often on the radio or on television.
At some point the question automatically came up: "Who gave Rudolph his name, where did he come from and where did he live?"
Where did he come from?
How did he grow up?
Who called him Rudolph?
The »modern« story of the world's most famous reindeer tells of his parents, his birth and the funny way he got his name. How Rudolph then grew up in his reindeer village, which was called »Red-Nose-Country«, and further developed on the long road to »Toyland« at the North Pole. It shows what he experienced in »Santa-Claus-City« and how he was chosen as the »leading reindeer« of Santa's reindeer crew.
Santa Claus lives in Toyland at the North Pole with Mrs. Santa, surrounded by his helpers like elves, goblins and gnomes, who stand by his side and help him with his tasks. Throughout the year, all children's greatest wishes arrive the »Santa-Claus-Post-Office« at the North Pole. His helpers not only have to search through the »wish-list«, but also »emails«, »faxes« and the craziest »SMS«, »MMS« and »Whatsapps«. To fulfill all wishes for Christmas, Santa Claus at the North Pole built huge production halls for the toys, electronic devices and all other small and large gifts.
In order for Santa Claus to be able to travel to Earth on time for Christmas season, to fulfill all wishes of the big and small children, he needs a reindeer crew, who can transport all presents by sledge.
This reindeer crew consists of 8 reindeer:
»Dasher« - Lake Baikal, Siberia/East-Russia,
»Dancer« - Lake Ladoga, Karelia/West-Russia,
»Prancer« - from Labrador, Eastern-Canada,
»Comet« - from Lapland, Norway,
»Cupid« - from Greenland,
»Vixen« - from Patagonia, Argentina,
»Donner« and »Blitzen« - Erzgebirge, Germany and of course
»Rudolph« - the reindeer with the bright flashing nose.
A small reindeer village in the north of America was nicknamed »Red-Nose-Country«. It was nestled deep among huge icebergs in the north where the sun never shone.
Only a few days a year, the whole landscape was showered with bright northern lights.
In the east, the reindeer village bordered on a huge lake district, where already since reindeer memories, the sun rose over the water and shouted to all reindeer:
"I wish all my little friends a good morning."
Wide, dangerous and unpredictable swamps lay in the south against a mountainous backdrop. Here the sun lingered around lunchtime and rested a bit from the exertions of ascending into the sky.
"Phew, every day I have to make that arduous ascent," she said. "I'm really not the youngest anymore," she growled. "Thousands of years, the same day in and day out.
Thanks a lot »Santa Claus«, I'll make it right away, then it'll go downhill again," the sun said.
Back there, by the evergreen, dense forest to the west, with their gigantic trees as high as if they wanted to touch the sun. It was just a peaceful island in the midst of these wonders of the world, as if it were a mirage in the Orient. Made for all animals of this region. Because all the inhabitants of this island were exclusively reindeer.
Of course, there were also reindeer on other parts of the world, in areas that were not as nice and peaceful as here in the »Red-Nose-Country«. This was known to all the inhabitants of the village, because sometimes they were visited by their relatives and friends, who were scattered all over the earth.
But the reindeer here differed by something »special« from other reindeer of the earth. They all had a red nose. Some have a slightly smaller nose, while the others have a slightly larger nose. There was nowhere around the world.
As was customary in other reindeer villages, the village order was pretty much the same here as elsewhere. There was a village chairman, or mayor, named »Aaron the 33rd«.
»Aaron« came from the oldest reindeer dynasty of this island. Just the first-born reindeer-buck, in the direct descendant line of this oldest tribe, could become village chairman.
It was a special honor for the one who managed this tribe, because he had very specific tasks to take on. Because the reindeer of the tribe »Aaron« were always the smartest and most sophisticated reindeer far and wide.
Her cleverness and her ingenuity made her special. What they said testified to intelligence, or what they ordered was unwritten law because they had assertiveness.
Again, and again the first-born reindeer-buck got the beautiful name »Aaron the 33rd / 34th/ 35th« and so on. The village chairman still had the words of his father »Aaron the 32nd « in the ear:
„And hereby I baptize you in the name »Aaron the 33rd«!“
He was inherited from generation to generation. Meanwhile, the entire herd counted proud 999 reindeer.
Everyone understood each other great, there were no hater and no Rowdies, no evil and no bad, just good and friendly reindeer. So, everyone went about their task.
In this community every reindeer had to tackle and was not allowed to be too bad for any work, because that is the only way this reindeer herd worked perfectly.
The animals fell in love with each other, as did other animals. It created friendships that lasted a lifetime.
So »Aaron the 33rd« had peeked into a reindeer female and couldn't sleep properly at night. This female had turned his head over. »Aaron« couldn't think of anything else anymore.
"What`s wrong with me?", he heard himself asking.
An inner voice told him: "Do not let yourself go crazy, the time will come, then she will hear you."
She always heard the beautiful name »Gracia«, meaning »kind«. And she was so kind too.
»Gracia« was so beautiful, that most of the growing reindeer pranced around her and queued up and tried to make her beautiful eyes, but she had also looked into »Aaron the 33rd«, but so far, he has not noticed.
Whenever »Aaron the 33rd« came close to her, it was over with her restraint, her hackles standing upright and her antlers vibrating, her legs starting to shake and her nostrils trembling.
She then also asked herself: "That can`t be true, every time I see »Aaron«, or get close to him, do I get sweats? Not anymore! If this continues, the other reindeer females laugh at me.
End, off and enough!" But that did not help anything. The desire for »Aaron«
