Mandate

God once said to me, “Go! I’m sending you like I sent Moses, my prophet, to liberate my people from all oppressions of the devil through the preaching and teaching of the Word of Faith. Raise the foundations of many generations, prophesy over them and school them into supernatural knowledge, wisdom, and exploits; impart into them my power and wisdom; release them into their glorious and unparalleled destinies.”

Introduction

I n 2008, I got invited to minister the Word of God at a Christian gathering here in Sydney, Australia. There were about three hundred people in total who attended the meeting. Most of the people who came to hear God’s Word were football players from the Sydney Roosters. The Sydney Roosters is an Australian professional Rugby League Football Club based in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, NSW. The club competes in the National Rugby League (NRL) and is one of the oldest and most successful clubs in Sydney.

I started my preaching around 6:30 pm and finished at about 9:45 pm. The title of my sermon that night was, “Keys to Preserving Your Destiny.” Then, a few years later, I got inspired to write a book with the same title, “Keys to Preserving Your Destiny.” And again, I later got encouraged to write another book, but with a different title, still a continuation of the Keys to Preserving Your Destiny book. Just imagine, from one meeting, I got inspired to write all these books. I believe God can do the same in your life in no time.

Now, during that meeting, I called people to come forward for prayer. Sad to say, out of the entire gathering, only one person came forward. However, as soon as I asked the Holy Spirit to touch his life, he fell under the power of God with no one touching him. Then, when everyone saw that, they all rushed forward to be prayed for. Well, as I prayed for them, they all fell under God’s power to the floor—Jesus touched them! Amazingly, people that I pray for in my meetings fall backwards, but these men fell forward.

Friends, the only thing I was doing in that meeting was commanding destinies to come forth as I laid hands on those precious people. Then, after a few weeks later, I received testimonies of the great things God did for them. My prayer is that this book will bring supernatural transformation and empowerment into your life without measure. You will become a global phenomenon in Christ Jesus — a person to reckon with in your generation. I also pray that your life won’t be a liability, but an asset in Jesus’ name!!

Chapter 1

Understanding Destiny

Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”Then said I: “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.”

—Jeremiah 1:4-6

Understanding Destiny

What you have to understand is that your destiny did not start here on earth. It started way back, even before you were born into this world. Your birth is not an accident! It is a well-pre-arranged agenda of God in Christ Jesus. In fact, you don’t have to create your own destiny, but all you can do is to discover it in God. Sad to say, many people today give up on their destinies too early. Why? Well, perhaps they lack the endurance that goes with destiny discovery and pursuit. However, we are told in Jeremiah 1:5 that:

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

When you look at the above Scripture, you and I already existed in the mind of God, even before we were conceived in our mother’s womb. Hence, you don’t pray that God gives you a destiny, but that God will show you the details of your destiny in Christ Jesus. We call that—destiny discovery and allocation! Everyone has a destiny, but it is not every destiny that will be successful. Some destinies may not even get fulfilled until Christ Jesus comes back. However, I believe yours will find fulfilment in Christ Jesus.

Saints, it is not pride to say that there are so many reasons certain destines can’t find fulfilment today. Look, living in a wealthy nation is not a guarantee that your destiny will find fulfilment. No! What I know is that every destiny will always encounter opposition anywhere and at anytime under heaven. For example, my prophetic agenda has encountered unusual opposition in this world. The devil has opposed my life and destiny, to no avail. I believe he can do the same thing to anyone with a glorious destiny or future.

Thus, it shouldn’t take you by surprise that your life or destiny is getting opposed today. The destinies of many people have experienced unbearable challenges because of God’s purpose in their lives. I believe God’s plan in your life will always attract opposition. However, that should not stop you at all—keep on moving! Stand strong in God, and He will give you unusual grace to pursue your life and destiny with power. Apostle Paul, God’s general and a giant of faith in Christ Jesus, once said in 1 Corinthians 16:8-10:

But I will tarry in Ephesus until Pentecost. For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries. And if Timothy comes, see that he may be with you without fear; for he does the work of the Lord, as I also do.

Your life and destiny in Christ Jesus will always get challenged in this fallen world. However, it takes destiny discovery and clarity for you to overcome all the challenges of life. Not only that, destiny discovery will also bring divine focus, establishment, and success into your life. Look, it does not matter how big your destiny is, if you are doing nothing about it, it won’t go anywhere. With destiny fulfilment, there is always responsibility involved — you have got to do something. Hence, what you don’t pursue, you can’t possess!

One time, Jesus and His disciples got invited to a wedding in Cana of Galilee. The mother of Jesus was also at the wedding. Now, amid the wedding celebrations, they ran out of wine. It was such a huge destiny setback—an enormous distraction! There was no way out of that dilemma — and shame was vigorously stirring up the entire place. No one lifted his head to fix or calm the situation—it was beyond their power or understanding. Certainly, someone’s destiny was at stake! Then what happened next?

John 2:5

His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”

Mind you, when the wine ran out at the wedding, shame was stirring all over the place. Humiliation was at its best to the master of the ceremony. That was exactly destiny disruption! However, Jesus stepped in and stopped the shame by performing that one first miracle of His ministry. Destiny, just like prophecy, is not self-fulfilling! There has to be action—someone must do something! Besides, you have got to understand what your destiny is. Each time you assume your destiny, fulfilment will get delayed—yes, it will!

Many people, even pastors, understand nothing about their destinies in Christ Jesus. Friends, failure to understand your destiny in full leads to stagnation and time wasting. If you can’t understand the purpose of your life and destiny here on earth, then you are lost. In fact, it is like someone carrying a bucket of water full of holes. It is basically wasting time that is supposed to be managed wisely. The only material that is irreplaceable in this world is time. Everything else may be replaceable—so don’t waste your time!

Ephesians 5:15-17

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

Saints, I encourage you to never delay or compromise your life and destiny here on earth. Make sure you understand the season in which you are today. Many years ago, as a young man, I discovered my destiny at an early stage—I knew it from the onset. Of course, I knew I was called to preach and teach the Word of God to the captives and brokenhearted. Since then, I have been running towards that goal to fulfil it by the grace of God. “When will you stop, Pastor George?” Well, I won’t stop doing it until Jesus comes back!

Philippians 3:13-15

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.

God’s people, what you have to know in life is that everyone born of God today has a glorious destiny, but not every destiny will be successful. That is why, in this book, we will have a look at many things that will help your destiny get fulfilled in a grand style. Destiny fulfilment is an enormous responsibility or task—it is not for lazy people. It demands high levels of spiritual dedication, discipline, consecration, and self-denial. I pray the Holy Spirit will help you in fulfilling your destiny in Christ Jesus henceforth. Yes, He will!

What is Destiny?

Romans 8:28-30

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

What is destiny? Well, I believe destiny is much more than what you may think! The question about destiny has very few and incomplete answers. You may read this book, and yet you do not even know what destiny is, let alone your own destiny in Christ Jesus. Some people have defined destiny contrary to God’s Word, plan, or understanding. Saints, when you have the right interpretation of something, just know your life will blossom. Thus, let us look at the dictionary definition of destiny as it relates to your life.

The dictionary meaning of the word destiny is:

“The events that will necessarily happen to a particular person or thing in the future.”

synonyms: future, fate, fortune, doom and lot.

The dictionary meaning of the word destiny is not incorrect, but incomplete. Only because God is a master planner such that even before we arrived here on earth, our destinies got already designed, marked, and fulfilled in Christ Jesus. God already set your destiny in motion from the beginning of time within His sovereign power. Hence, your destiny is not futuristic, but something that is already there and done. Friends, it won’t surprise God to see you fulfilling your destiny—it has been there in God for ages!

Romans 8:30

Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

Jeremiah 1:4-6

Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Then said I: “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.”

According to the Scripture above, Jeremiah was already a prophet to nations even before he got conceived in his mother’s womb. His destiny did not start here on earth — instead, it all started in God’s mind. Now, what is destiny? Well, destiny is not the job you are doing, not even the business you might be running. Apart from that, it is not even the career that you are pursuing in your life. It is sad to say, many people today, even Christians, don’t know what destiny is. Hence, they call it whatever they want!

Saints, a God-ordained destiny, will always go beyond your personal ambitions. Destiny has a default inclination to God’s purpose for your life. Hence, destiny is not the car or the house you want to buy or build. It is not even the PhD or master’s degree you are pursuing at your local university. Besides, most of the time, the jobs people do are just there to support their families — it is not their destiny! If what you are doing today does not benefit God’s purpose, just know that it may not be your God-ordained destiny.

Once again, destiny has a lot to do with God’s divine agenda for your life here on earth. For example, if the business you are running does not involve God’s agenda, then it may not be your destiny. Perhaps it is just a career that you are pursuing to support your family. However, having a job or business should not stop you from pursuing your God-ordained destiny in Christ Jesus. Saints, in order to be sure that what you are pursuing is also your God-ordained destiny, you much check with your heart or God’s will.

John 18:37

Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

Destiny Finally Defined

1 Corinthians 9:25-27

And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

In the above Scripture, Apostle Paul knew and understood his destiny very well. Look, if you and I don’t know or understand what destiny is, there is no way we can even fulfil it. We need to know what destiny is all about — even the details thereof. One Sunday night at Church, the Holy Spirit gave me a unique and powerful definition of destiny in relation to our lives in Christ Jesus. Since then, my life has never been the same. I’m revolutionised and have a distinguished perspective of destiny. Well, here is the definition:

Destiny is an ordained assignment which God has put into your spirit or life in order to serve the purposes of His Kingdom.

Saints, doing whatever you feel like doing in life is not what destiny from God is all about. A God-ordained destiny has everything to do with God’s divine agenda concerning His Kingdom here on earth. For example, you may be an accountant by profession, yet in your spirit, you feel like feeding the poor or homeless languishing on the streets. Well, the accountancy job is your career, while getting the kids off the streets is your God-ordained destiny. Any destiny from God has an inclination to serve God’s purpose.

In fact, the dictionary does not have a proper definition for destiny, it only says; “fate, future or doom.” Well, that means nothing! Destiny goes beyond the philosophical idea of the future or fate—destiny is Jesus in us! Hence, one important thing you have to understand is that everyone today has a glorious destiny regardless of colour, age, race, or appearance. Let us stop undermining God’s plan for our lives in Christ Jesus, despite our dilemmas. Soon or later, Jesus will glorify Himself through our destinies in Him.

Jeremiah 29:10-13

For thus says the Lord: after seventy years are completed at Babylon, I will visit you and perform My good word toward you, and cause you to return to this place. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

God’s people, I believe God has a glorious destiny for everyone one of us here on earth. He will make sure whatever He has planned for our lives comes to pass in Christ Jesus. God bless you!!

Chapter 2

Maximisng Your Potential

Your sun shall no longer go down, nor shall your moon withdraw itself; for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended. Also your people shall all be righteous; they shall inherit the land forever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, that I may be glorified. A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation. I, the Lord, will hasten it in its time.”

—Isaiah 60:20-22

Maximising Your Potential

A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation. I the Lord, will hasten it in its time.

Isaiah 6:22
