Prologue: The Awakening of the Flames
It was a while ago that the oath of the Guardians
echoed in the depths of the earth. Centuries passed,
and the old oath was only a flickering echo in the
forgotten halls of time. But the balance of the world
was fragile, and the darkness that once seemed
defeated stirred again.
The dragon, once a guardian of the elements, was
gone. Banished to the depths of the forgotten caves,
where even the light found no access. But the flames
he once suppressed were not extinguished, they
continued to burn silently, patiently, until the time
came when the earth would release them again.
"When the flames flare up again, the Guardians will
awaken," whispered the ancient seer, whose eyes
saw the light of the future. "Only they can keep the
balance."
The prophecy spoke of a group that would renew the
unbroken bond of oath, Mira, Eryon, Lyra. Each of
them carried an inheritance that went deeper than
the blood that flowed in their veins. They were the
chosen ones, the last guardians of balance, and their
task was clear: they had to find the dragon, unfurl its
3
wings again, and defeat the fire that threatened the
world.
But the trial that lay ahead of them was not just a
battle against the darkness. It was a fight against
their own fears, their doubts and the temptation to
submit to power. The oath they made would not only
save the world, it would change it.
The flames had begun to flicker. And the oath of the
Guardians, as old as time itself, was alive again.
Chapter 1: The Flame Test
The air shimmered with heat as Mira, Eryon, and Lyra
entered the massive cave entrance. The ground
beneath them was covered with ash, and the walls
shook as if something in the depths were awakening.
The dragon was here. And he waited for her.
"We have to stick together," Mira whispered, but her
voice sounded uncertain. The prophecy had prepared
them for this moment, but nothing could prepare
them for the scorching embers that struck them.
Every breath felt like flames were burning her lungs.
4
A deep rumble filled the cave, and two glowing eyes
opened in the darkness. The dragon rose from its
resting place, its scales shimmering like molten gold.
An ancient being who had once watched over the
balance of the world and would now be its test.
"Who dares to break the seal?" The dragon's voice
thundered through the cave, accompanied by a hot
gust that stirred up the dust. The ground shook under
his huge claws, and smoke rose from his throat.
Eryon stepped forward, his gaze determined. "We are
the Guardians! We have come to restore the
balance!"
A loud laugh echoed through the cave, rough and
deep. "Words alone will not save you. Show me your
strength, show me your hearts!"
5
With a mighty flap of its wings, the dragon rushed
towards them. Flames shot through the air, and the
Guardians jumped apart. Mira threw up her hands,
and a protective barrier of light formed around her.
Lyra drew her sword, which lit up in the heat, while
Eryon collected magic with her hands raised. The
spell pulsed between his fingers, a glistening blue
that broke through the darkness of the cave.
The dragon reared up and opened its mouth. A burst
of flame rushed towards them, and Mira reinforced
the barrier at the last moment. The heat made her
knees tremble, but she held her ground. Lyra leaped
forward, her sword pointed at the beast's heart, while
Eryon unleashed his spell. Magic chains wrapped
around the dragon's claws, but with a single jerk he
broke them.
"You are strong, but is your will unshakable?" The
dragon's voice vibrated through the stone. "Prove it to
me!"
6
The fight had begun. But it wasn't just a fight for her
life, it was a trial that would decide the fate of the
world, ...
Chapter 2: The Gate of the Worlds
The Guardians' journey had taken them far beyond
the boundaries of the known. The dense forest in
which they now found themselves seemed different,
7
the trees whispered in a language that made their
hearts restless. Eryon felt it first. An energy that
reminded him of the ancient magic he had only heard
in ancient legends.
"Do you hear that?" he asked softly as he stopped
and sniffed the air.
Mira nodded. "Yes, as if the forest itself lives... and
hides something in it."
Their steps led them deeper into the forest until the
ground was covered with moss and thick roots.
Suddenly, the thick fog broke apart in front of them,
and they stood in front of a massive rock face that
towered in front of them as if out of nowhere. But
something was different: the wall shimmered in the
dim light, as if it had been made of pure stardust.
"The gate," Lyra whispered, her eyes widened.
8
In front of them stood a bright golden circle, a gate
that shimmered as if it had been woven from the
depths of time itself. In the middle of the circle was
carved a symbol, an old sign that Eryon recognized
immediately.
"The symbol of the Guardians," he said, faltering his
words. "It's the key."
"And what happens when we activate it?" Mira
wondered if they were really ready to enter the gate.
"It opens, but only to those who have truly taken the
oath of the Guardians," Eryon answered, unsure if he
could calm himself down with it.
Lyra took a step forward and carefully placed her
hand on the edge of the golden circle. Immediately
the gate began to glow, and a suction seized her, as if
the gate itself were alive and wanted to pull her into
its depths.
9
"Ready?" Mira asked, her voice firm, even though her
heart was beating faster.
"Ready," Eryon and Lyra answered at the same time.
With one last glimpse of the world they had known,
the group stepped through the magic gate and found
themselves in a new, unknown dimension. The air
was thinner, the colors more intense and the light
seemed to come from all directions. The ground
beneath her feet was covered with glowing crystals,
and in the distance towering towers of shimmering
obsidian rose into the sky.
"Where are we?" whispered Mira.
"In a world meant only for the Guardians," Eryon
answered, feeling the magic in the air. "And this is
where our true trial will begin."
10
Chapter 3: The Search for Clara
After stepping through the magic gate, the Guardians
felt cut off from reality. The world around her was like
a mirror image of her own, but distorted and alien.
11
The sky above them was a deep purple that changed
into innumerable hues, and the air seemed to be
permeated by a strange heaviness. It was as if after
stepping through the magic gate, the Guardians felt
cut off from reality.
"Clara must be here somewhere," Mira said,
searching her eyes. She felt the connection to her
friend as if she were a part of this place. But despite
this connection, the direction was unclear.
"Where exactly can we find her?" asked Eryon, his
brow furrowed as he scanned the horizon.
Lyra pulled an old, magical card from her pocket,
which began to glow by itself in the new world. "I can
feel it," she said, pointing to a marked point near a
massive mountain massif. "There, in Duskwood. But
the path is dangerous. We have to hurry."
12
"Clara has always helped us, we must not let her
down," Mira whispered, her voice full of
determination. The memory of her friend, who had
always stood by her side with words and deeds,
drove her on.
Duskwood was a place of shadows and mystery.
Trees leaning at odd angles and fog that was
constantly moving seemed to be watching the
Guardians. But the closer they got to the goal, the
stronger the feeling became that they were being
watched, as if invisible eyes were lurking for them.
"We have to be careful," Lyra warned as she stepped
through the fog. "There are dark creatures in this
forest. Beings that thrive in the darkness."
Suddenly, they heard a noise, a soft giggle coming
from the shadows. It was not a human sound. A huge
shadow flew over them, and the air grew heavier, as if
some danger was approaching.
13
"Ready to fight," Eryon shouted as he raised his
hands and collected magic. The glowing aura that
surrounded him was the only ray of hope in the
darkness of the forest.
And then, from the shadows, a dark figure emerged, a
creature from the depths that had hidden itself in the
mists of the forest. It was a creature, half human, half
animal, with shining eyes and claws that tore the
ground.
"You're too late," the creature said in a voice that
sounded like the rustling of fermented leaves.
"Clara's time is up."
A fight began, but it was more than just a physical
fight. It was a test of her determination, her courage
and her willingness to risk everything to save Clara.
The Guardians had to fight not only the creature, but
14
also their own fears and the shadows that hid in their
hearts.
Super! If we made Duskwood even more mystical
and the trials for Guardians more intense, we could
add even more magical and psychological
challenges. Perhaps they will also encounter visions
from the past or future in the forest that appeal to
their fears and insecurities. These visions could lead
them away from their goal or force them to defeat
their inner demons in order to move forward.
