Founded in 1995 on the initiative of Professor Lorenzo Ornaghi, ASERI – the Graduate School of Economics and International Relations at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore – was led for twelve years by Professor Vittorio Emanuele Parsi and, since November 2024, has been under the direction of Professor Damiano Palano. More than a school, ASERI was conceived from the outset as a Hautes Écoles-inspired laboratory: a place where international transformations are not only studied but critically interpreted and discussed. Over the past thirty years, it has trained students from all over the world, equipping them to lead across institutions, diplomacy, cooperation and global governance.
This volume brings together the voices and memories that have shaped ASERI’s unique identity. It includes three main chapters: a historical reconstruction of the School’s development; a section dedicated to the reflections of its faculty members; and a third part highlighting the stories and achievements of some of its most distinguished alumni. It offers not only a retrospective, but a vision for the future: a school that continues to train the leaders of tomorrow.
