Kevin walked over to the house next door with a plate of pie in his hand. His sister had just forced him to deliver it to the house next door.
Her exact words were that he needed to get acquainted with the people in the neighborhood.
However, they both knew that she was being cheeky. She was probably praying that the new owner had a sister or daughter that she could hook him up with.
Kevin was thirty years old, and as much as his businesses had picked off, his love life was still in shambles.
His sister and her children had moved in with him in an effort to save money. He didn’t have any problem with that, but there were moments where she got on his nerves and Kevin couldn’t help but wish she had her own spot.
His sister was a bit traditional, so to her, Kevin should have been married and like other thirty year olds walk around with a golden ring on his finger or a tired face that indicated that he was a dad.
He took in a few deep breaths and knocked on the door. For some reason, his heart started beating quickly and his palms started sweating.
It had been a while since he had felt that way, and Kevin couldn’t help but get scared.
The last time he had that feeling was when he last fell in love and the outcome was not as pretty as he thought it would be.
“Hi,” he started as soon as the owner answered the door.
