Kevin walked back to his chambers and checked his phone; he had a few minutes before he went back to court. The court had gone for a fifteen-minute recess so that he could have a breather after an hour of listening to a number of people complain about their legal problems.
He took out his phone, and checked if he had received any messages from the people he was yearning to talk to. His baby mama had updated him with the status of his child and his mother had also updated him about the status of the house that he was building for her.
Kevin then read the next text; it was from Lexie, the lady that he had been seeing for a few months now. The two had met during the holidays and developed a serious connection with each other.
It was weird how quickly they had gotten close, and the two kept texting every moment they had the chance to.
Each moment that he went on without getting a text from her, Kevin became worried about her and started overthinking on the numerous situations that he may have done her wrong or if she was okay and safe.
It was crazy how much she had gotten to him and made him view things differently, and he liked how much she did.
The only problem with their situation was that Lexie was a legal intern who worked for one of the revered law firms. She had done the bar exams twice and had failed both times, and was going through the cut for the third time.
