Divine Favour is worth reading! Whether in Africa, Australia, Asia, Europe, South America, Canada, or the USA, divine favour is non-negotiable! This generation has no regard for God’s divine favour at all. Instead, it has more faith in human effort, opinions, or educational qualifications than in God. Exalting anything else in your life above God’s favour will land you in trouble. Divine favour is also divine grace or divine help! Each time you turn your back on God’s grace, disgrace will find its way into your life. Think about how Paul the Apostle attributed all his life and ministry accomplishments to God’s grace. It is safer that way!

Saints, divine favour is a must in this world we live in. Without it, your life will always get incapacitated, in every way. Of course, we live in a competitive world such that for you to excel in life, you will always need the favour of God. Only the spirit of pride in people, even Christians, will always dismiss God’s plan or agenda concerning favour. Many people have lost relevance in life because of neglecting the favour of God, which is in Christ Jesus. They think education, whom they know, and their popularity is superior to God’s favour. God forbid!

God once said to me, “Go! I’m sending you like I sent Moses, my prophet to liberate my people from all oppressions of the devil through the preaching and teaching of the Word of Faith. Raise the foundations of many generations, prophesy over them and school them into supernatural knowledge, wisdom, and exploits; impart into them my power and wisdom; release them into their glorious and unparalleled destinies.”

Introduction

Divine favour is a must in this world we live in. Without it, our lives will always get incapacitated, whether in Africa, Australia, Asia, Europe, South America, Canada, or the USA. To excel in this competitive world, you’ll always need God’s favour. Only the spirit of pride in people, even Christians, will dismiss God’s agenda concerning divine favour. Many people have lost relevance in life because of neglecting the favour of God. They think education, whom they know, and their popularity is superior to God’s favour. Sorry, divine favour is God’s generational plan for His people. Wherever He sees people stranded, He sends His favour.

This generation has no regard for God’s divine favour—people want to make it in life using their human intelligence. Well, exalting your status or education above the wisdom of God concerning favour is a trap in disguise. Besides, divine favour is divine grace—the very grace of God! Hence, each time you turn your back on God’s grace, disgrace will find its way into your life. Look at Paul the Apostle, God’s general! He ascribed everything he did in life and ministry to God’s grace. I think we all know who Paul the Apostle was—a man of power and authority! In his letter to the Corinthians, he gave honour and glory to God for His grace.

1 Corinthians 15:9-11

For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. Therefore, whether it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.

Paul the Apostle had been to Heaven, even the third heavens. He prayed for the lame to walk, raised the dead and had a massive encounter with Jesus Christ on the road to Damascus, yet He asserted everything to the Grace of God, which is also divine favour. Anytime you replace God’s favour with yourself, you will always miss your way in life. Hence, seeking God’s favour in your life is the highest form of humility. Only the humble will mention and appreciate God’s divine favour. Nowadays, when people talk, it is all about self without acknowledging God. Sadly, it is also happening among many Christians. God forbid and have mercy on us!

Genesis 6:5-8 (AMPC)

The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination and intention of all human thinking was only evil continually. And the Lord regretted that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved at heart. So the Lord said, I will destroy, blot out, and wipe away mankind, whom I have created from the face of the ground—not only man, [but] the beasts and the creeping things and the birds of the air—for it grieves Me and makes Me regretful that I have made them. But Noah found grace (favor) in the eyes of the Lord.

The word “grace” in the above Scripture may also mean favour, which means Noah found grace or favour in the sight of God. I pray God’s divine favour will accompany you all the days of your life in Jesus’ name.!!

Chapter One

What is Divine Favour?

Esther 2:15-16

Now when the turn came for Esther the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her as his daughter, to go in to the king, she requested nothing but what Hegai the king’s eunuch, the custodian of the women, advised. And Esther obtained favor in the sight of all who saw her. So Esther was taken to King Ahasuerus, into his royal palace, in the tenth month, which is the month of Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign.

God’s Favour

When I speak of divine favour, I refer to the favour of God Jehovah. Apart from that, divine favour has its source or origin in God Himself. No one under Heaven has the power to favour anyone except God. Of course, sometimes people may receive favour from their relatives, workplaces, organisations or corporations. However, regardless of how you receive it, God is the source of every favour. Perhaps your workplace, uncle, company or organisation was just a channel that God used—He is Sovereign! I have witnessed individuals with nothing to their name rise to prominence because of God’s divine favour at work in their lives.

Doubtlessly, you can receive some favours from people in this world. Still, it is God Almighty who supplies the power for favour. Hence, each time you ascribe honour to people more than you do to God, you are just cutting your life short. Don’t do it! For example, many years ago, during our church service, I was praying for people anointing them with the oil of favour. Then, the next day, I got a message from a church member who got promoted while I was praying for them on Sunday. I pray that God’s favour will visit you in Jesus’ name. Don’t allow pride or unbelief to rob you of your glorious destiny in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

Psalm 5:12

For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield.

God’s favour is real. It is not just theory. No! May God’s divine favour become your covering in Jesus’ name!

Divine Help

The other thing we must understand today is that divine favour is also divine help. When you see your life-changing levels to greater dimensions, always remember it is God’s divine help in front of you. No one can stand against or compete with someone whom God has favoured. For some of us, had it not been for God’s divine favour or help, our life would have been a liability by now. Hence, it is wickedness for you and me to forget God’s divine help in our lives. Yes, don’t get ballooned with pride and change the way you walk and talk—it is a risk! One dangerous thing as a child of God is to forget the God who helped you in your low moments.

Some people get filled with pride, especially when they think they are doing well in life. You may not verbalise it, but your actions will say a lot. For example, there are people before becoming citizens of a foreign nation, got detained because of missing documents. Later, somehow, they got given citizenship so much that they even started working for the same department. Now, this is where the problem comes about! Instead of treating people going through the same problems that they experienced, they become unhelpful and proud. Of course, you must do your job, but remember the help you received from God.

Exodus 22:21

You shall neither mistreat a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Leviticus 19:33-34

‘And if a stranger dwells with you in your land, you shall not mistreat him. The stranger who dwells among you shall be to you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

I believe you can acknowledge God’s divine help, which is favour by helping other people in life. Never allow self-importance to encroach on your life. Whatever you and I have become in life today is because of God’s divine help—nothing more and nothing less! I pray your spiritual eyes will open! You must always remember your Ebenezer—God, your Helper! What does the word Ebenezer mean? It means “stone of help.” The reference comes from 1 Samuel 7:10-13. After defeating the Philistines, Samuel raised his banner, declaring that God defeated his enemies there. Always acknowledge God’s divine help in your life.

1 Samuel 7:10-13

Now as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel. But the Lord thundered with a loud thunder upon the Philistines that day, and so confused them that they were overcome before Israel. And the men of Israel went out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, and drove them back as far as below Beth Car. Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.” So the Philistines were subdued, and they did not come anymore into the territory of Israel. And the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.

I pray God’s help or favour goes before you in Jesus’ name!!
