Belle, Helen and Gray were best friends since primary school and they had spent days of stupid activities while in school and while they’re home. Their houses were just meters apart and now that they were all grown up, they still kept in touch with each other.
Helen knew Gray liked Belle since then and she was happy for them but she was uncertain if Belle liked Gray too. However, it did not hinder their out-of-town outings and activities.
It was one fine night and Gray wanted to surprise Belle with a necklace on her birthday. Helen and Gray pretended not to remember Belle’s birthday. She hoped that her best friends would fetch her home for tonight but the clock already struck 10:00 pm and still nobody knocked on her door.
Upon realizing that her best friend had completely forgotten her birthday, she cried a lot while curling in bed. She had high hopes that they would at least eat out in their favorite burger house but they were nowhere to be found.
She was still sobbing when a knock came. She jerked from her bed but she was hesitant to open it. When Gray’s voice came from behind the door, she immediately jumped out of bed.
“Hey,” she greeted him.
“Are you okay?” he asked, noticing her tear-stained eyes.
“Yes,” she said and rubbed her eyes.
